Reed's POV
At the hospital, Lorelei clutched her phone with white knuckles, her eyes fixed on the trending topic that refused to disappear. Rage twisted her features so violently I thought she might launch the device across the room.
I watched her jaw clench every time she recalled the nurse's dismissive look during her bandage change. The urge to lash out was written all over her face, but my presence kept her restraint intact.
"Reed, I swear on everything I hold dear—I have no idea who's hijacking my identity to leak videos to those influencers. That hospital surveillance? Complete setup. The Zach own that place. What kind of idiot would I be to sabotage myself like that?"
Her voice cracked as she continued, "I can't stand the thought of you taking heat because of me. These people don't know jack about what really happened, but they're tearing us apart anyway. And now Jenifer's joining their witch hunt against you."
