Chapter 4 - Chapter 4: Eye of Death

"System, track the mission target."

[Mission target 'Yinsen' marked.]

A golden light flickered on Daniel's mini-map—Yinsen had actually gotten surprisingly far.

"Not bad for a four-eyes nerd," Daniel muttered. But before he could admire the guy—

[Warning! Mission target's vital signs dropping rapidly!][Mission will fail if target dies!]

"…Alright, I take it back."

Under Tony's wide-eyed stare, the diamond pickaxe vanished from Daniel's hand, replaced by a sleek Beretta 93R, its metallic surface gleaming.

"You—"

"Wait for good news."

Daniel cut him off and sprinted toward the golden light.

A Corridor of Terrorists

The moment he rounded a corner, several heavily armed terrorists nearly ran straight into him.

They froze.

Then—

"Hands up!""Drop the weapon!""Squat down!""Don't move!"

The orders came in three different languages.

Thanks to the "Let them speak Chinese" language setting, Daniel understood everything perfectly.

"So… should I move or not?" he asked sincerely.

The terrorists exchanged confused looks.

Then reached the only universal decision—

Da-da-da-da—!!

Bullets poured toward Daniel like a metallic waterfall.

And Daniel whispered:

"Eye of Death."

Time Slows

The world instantly shifted into syrup-like slow motion.

Bullets crawled through the air like lazy fireflies.Smoke drifted in frozen waves. The terrorists' faces twisted slowly, grotesquely.

Only Daniel moved freely.

Red crosshairs lit up over each terrorist's forehead.

Bang! Bang! Bang! Bang!

Four bodies dropped at the exact same instant, still holding their raised guns.

[Skill: Eye of Death][Effect: Slows time, highlights weak points, enables bullet tracking, infinite ammo, brief X-ray vision.][Evaluation: I have a plan. A ridiculous plan.]

"Trash mobs," Daniel muttered, stepping over the bodies. "Not even worth experience."

Sweeping the Cave

More footsteps approached.

Bang! — A terrorist peeked out. His head burst like a popped melon.

The rest panicked and opened fire wildly.

Daniel rolled behind cover, checked the minimap—red dots clustered tightly.

"Good thing this isn't an FPS, or I'd be banned instantly."

Bang!Another terrorist dropped.

"Johnny! I'll avenge—"

Bang!He dropped too.

The barrage continued. No matter where they hid—behind rocks, under crates, behind fallen comrades—Daniel's bullets found their skulls.

"Devil! He's a devil!"

They tried to run.

Bang. Bang. Bang.

They didn't get far.

Hostage Situation

Just then—

"Don't move! Or he dies!"

Daniel turned.

A bearded terrorist was holding Yinsen hostage, gun pressed to his temple. The man was so fat that Yinsen's slim body barely covered him—a bizarre, almost comedic sight.

"D-Don't mind me…" Yinsen whispered weakly.

Daniel didn't answer.

Honestly, if it weren't for the mission, he might've shot Yinsen first just to remove the shield.

Seeing Daniel hesitate, the bearded man grew smug.

"If you want him alive, throw away the weapon!"

"…Fine."

Daniel tossed the 93R in his hand onto the ground.

The bearded man burst into laughter, immediately shifting his aim to Daniel.

"Hahaha! Idiot! Go to—"

Bang!

His smile froze.A neat bullet hole opened between his eyebrows. He toppled over like a puppet whose strings had been cut.

Daniel twirled another 93R—one he'd drawn from his inventory.

He shrugged at the corpse.

"You told me to drop the one in my hand. You didn't say anything about the one in my inventory."
