With her innate cheerfulness and approachable nature, she had now become immensely popular within the class.
Even at this moment, she was surrounded by female classmates, chatting and laughing happily. Asia, who was with her, also seemed to be enjoying herself.
As Issei watched Asia with a warm feeling, Matsuda and Motohama called out to him.
"What's up? Who are you ogling so early in the morning, Issei?"

And so it went. They were idiots, perverts, and utterly ridiculous, but the three of them always hung together, having pointless conversations like this.
"Anyway, I've got some big news. Wanna hear it?"
"You just want to tell us, don't you? Stop being dramatic and spit it out."
When Motohama said this with exasperation, Matsuda—seemingly pleased that his friend had hit the mark—began talking excitedly.
"Well, the thing is... I heard another transfer student is coming to this class!"
A transfer student? This would make the fourth one already.
"Oh? For you to call it 'big news,' Matsuda, it must be a girl, and a seriously cute one at that."
Motohama was right. A cute girl was more than welcome! As they were getting excited about what she might be like, the teacher entered, and everyone took their seats.
Confirming that the class was settled, the teacher began to speak.
"Ahem, this is sudden, but I'd like to introduce a new transfer student. —Come in."

Issei could feel Asia's gaze on him, but that was the least of his concerns right now. He knew her. She was, she was—
"——— Yū... ma-chan?"
Had she heard his mutter? She smiled gently, just as she had on the first day they met.
"Starting today, I will be in your care. My name is Amano Yuma. It's a pleasure to meet you all!"
That's right. The new transfer student who had appeared was his first girlfriend, the one who had deceived him, killed him, and even went on to kill Asia and Kazuki before being erased by the president, the fallen angel, Raynare, also known as Amano Yuma.
That day, for the first time, Issei heard the sound of the blood draining from his own face…

Rias Gremory slammed her hand on the desk with all her might, glaring at Azazel. The Governor of the Fallen Angels scratched his head with a troubled expression, but she wasn't going to be fooled by that.
She would not be satisfied until she received a proper explanation for this situation!
"Ah~, well, it's the same deal as with Irina."
"Me!?"
Irina Shidou, whose name was suddenly brought up, looked surprised. But that alone didn't clarify anything for Rias.
"So, in short, since Michael dispatched Irina, we Fallen Angels also sent this one here as our resident representative. I am still the Governor, after all. I've got a lot of shit to do and can't exactly stay here permanently."
Rias could understand that reasoning; Azazel was indeed the Governor, despite his usual demeanor.

"Even so, this choice of person is unacceptable!? You can't possibly be unaware of what this woman has done to us!?"
Unable to contain her rage, Rias fixed her glare upon Yuma Amano—Raynare—who was bowing her head behind Azazel.
Rias was exploding with anger…
Today marks the day the Fallen Angel Raynare transferred into Issei's class. It seemed she shared a deep, troublesome connection with Issei and Asia.
"Why are you talking as if it's someone else's problem, Kazuki? You are one of the involved parties as well," Akeno muttered, sounding exasperated.
It was true that Kazuki, having been killed by Raynare and reborn as a Devil, could be considered an involved party.
However, her sudden appearance before his eyes, coupled with the fact that he'd been murdered by her, made it feel unreal. It was more like hearing the story after the fact and thinking, "Oh, so that's what happened."
"I'm more worried about Issei and Asia than myself. Are they going to be okay?"
Both of them, especially Issei, were shaken by the reunion with Raynare.
Issei had sat down, his face deathly pale, refusing to even look in her direction. Asia was also casting worried glances towards Issei.
"Don't say that. I know this girl acted on her own and caused you all a great deal of trouble. I also know that, by rights, she should be executed as a criminal. But look, we Fallen Angels are the smallest in number among the Three Great Powers, and our ranks aren't easily replenished. Even if she's a criminal, I can't just casually dispose of one of my few subordinates. She's deeply remorseful now and says she wants to atone for her sins. So, could you maybe cut her some slack and give her a chance to make amends?"
Rias made a sour face at Azazel's explanation. Everyone else felt the same, all of them glaring at Raynare with clear displeasure.
Certainly, Azazel's argument was solely from the Fallen Angels' perspective.
However, with the peace treaty established and everyone moving towards a cooperative framework, they couldn't just ignore the personal appeal of the Governor himself.
With no other choice, Kazuki decided to intervene in their conversation.
"Azazel-san, I heard that Rias obliterated Raynare. How is she still alive?"
When he asked the question, Azazel latched onto it as if he'd been saved…
