Chapter 11 - Chapter 11

When John took out a Glock pistol, which had the lowest recoil, from his bag, and it was also equipped with an extended magazine, a silencer, and an infrared scope, Juno and the others were stunned.

Beth, as their teacher, couldn't help but ask, "Where did you get these?"

"From Chief Peter."

John assembled the pistol's equipment and handed it to Beth.

He didn't expect these people to be able to deal with the Wendigo monster in the cave, only that they wouldn't die too easily.

Otherwise, if everyone died, and they all focused on him, it would be troublesome.

Beth took the pistol.

If it was from that Chief Peter, it wasn't surprising; the town had heard rumors of him using his power for arms dealing.

Rebecca looked at her bloody hands, and while blaming Juno in her heart, she couldn't help but cry and laugh, "I'm afraid I won't have a chance to use a gun."

Sam weakly said, "I'm not very good with them either..."

Sarah took the pistol John had assembled.

She was the first to see the monster and the most terrified person; the cold firearm in her hand gave her a sense of security.

Sam finally took a pistol at John's request.

John also gave Holly one.

Her leg was crippled, so she was destined not to run; he just hoped she wouldn't die too horribly, and that at least she could cause some damage to the Wendigo, which would be worth it.

Only Juno still held her ground; she believed both of them were hallucinating.

Because she always thought that no one could survive for long in such a harsh cave environment, not even a monster!

Let alone John, even Sarah wanted to shoot her good friend in the head after hearing that.

Since Juno didn't want it, John naturally took it back.

The group, having distributed their equipment, set off again to find an exit.

However, with Holly as a burden, the team's speed slowed down significantly.

For John, the slower the team, the better, because his target was the Wendigo monster; it was just that after making such a big commotion earlier, it still hadn't appeared.

After walking for a while, they heard the sound of dripping water.

Juno rushed ahead to check and found water spilling from above the rock wall, which gave her hope.

She quickly secured a rock piton and led everyone to start climbing.

Rebecca, worried about Juno's safety, whispered, "Juno, slow down.

It's safer if two people go up together.

There really might be monsters in this cave."

Juno, upon hearing this, instead sped up.

She wanted to prove that there were no monsters in the cave at all.

"Maybe the exit is just ahead.

As long as we're careful, there won't be any danger."

Juno quieted down suddenly after climbing up.

Rebecca called out, but there was no response, so everyone had to climb up following the rock pitons Juno had initially set.

John followed behind, carrying Holly with one hand, and his speed was no slower than the others.

When everyone climbed to the next level of flat ground, they realized the reason for Juno's silence.

There was no so-called exit here.

There were only bumpy puddles, filled with piles of white bones, both human and animal bones, forming mountains.

This situation could only mean one thing: a top predator was hiding in this dark underground cave.

This time, Juno had no choice but to believe; there truly were monsters in this cave.

John threw Holly aside and silently pulled out his gun and cocked it.

They couldn't see clearly, but John could see perfectly: there was a Wendigo above them.

At this moment, he finally saw what this monster looked like.

In the darkness, the Wendigo moved like a hunched tower of withered bones.

Cracked, grayish-blue skin covered its protruding skeleton, its eyes exposed, pupils narrowed to pinholes, fixed deadly on the group.

White mist, mixed with the stench of rotting flesh, spewed from its shrunken nasal cavity, and its rotten lips were curled back, revealing sharp, ice-like teeth, each tip dripping with dark brown viscous fluid...

Its appearance was comparable to that of a Deformed Cannibal.

Rebecca noticed John's movements and asked softly, "Did you find anything?"

John raised his infrared sight and aimed at the rock wall above.

Juno and the others looked in that direction and just happened to see the Wendigo secretly moving.

Its terrifying face and bluish-black skin alone made their scalps tingle.

Rebecca screamed.

"Bang! Bang!"

John fired, both shots hitting the Wendigo's back, causing it to instantly fall from the wall.

It let out a strange cry from its fangs and crawled into the darkness.

It was so fast that John didn't even have time to fire a follow-up shot.

"Stop screaming!

Do you want to attract other monsters?"

John was furious with these incompetent teammates.

Not only could they not provide covering fire, but they also screamed randomly.

In this situation, it was hard not to die.

"I don't have a gun," Rebecca couldn't help but feel wronged.

"What should we do, John?"

Sam was a student with the worst psychological resilience.

She had already cried when she saw the Wendigo.

If it weren't for John, she might already be completely disoriented and running around in fear.

Beth's expression was panicked and no better.

Holly was probably the most scared; her leg was already crippled, and if that monster came back, she would definitely be the first target.

John quickly pulled out a gun from his backpack.

Juno took it without refusal and quickly said, "We have to leave here first.

This might be their nest."

John shook his head.

He looked towards a dark spot ahead where several Wendigos were approaching at an extremely fast speed.

"It's too late.

They're already here.

There's more than one monster, and they're right ahead!"

"There are some above too."

"Bang! Bang! Bang!"

"Ah!"

Screams, gunshots, and strange cries mixed together.

The Wendigo's target was clear: the immobile Holly.

Sarah, who had mental issues, her pupils dilated, fired a few random shots, and immediately ran away.

John's gun never stopped firing.

Juno and Holly were at the very front, while Beth stood with John and fired.

But Sam, the youngest, had never seen such a terrifying scene.

Looking at the dense swarm of monsters, she didn't even have the courage to shoot and ran into the dark cave behind them.

Rebecca, having no weapon, could only chase after Sam.

Four pistols fired continuously, but the number of Wendigos exceeded imagination, breaking through their defense in an instant.

Holly was directly pounced on, letting out a desperate scream.

A Wendigo bit Holly's throat, and her voice quickly subsided.

More and more Wendigos gathered on her corpse, tearing and devouring her.

Juno and Beth collapsed at the sight of this.

But other monsters were surging towards them.

Juno, caught off guard, was pounced on, struggling with all her limbs.

"Beth, help!"

Seeing this, Beth looked at John, almost crying, "What should we do?"

"Teacher Beth, you run first."

John had long known that this group of teammates was unreliable.

He took out two M76 grenades, gently pulled the pins, and threw them towards Holly's corpse.

The rolling sound of the grenades did not attract the Wendigos' attention; they were still feeding.

Beth saw this and immediately ran.

Juno was still struggling; she didn't want to die.

"Boom!"

John didn't leave; he just hid in the corner.

With two violent roars, the entire cave vibrated, and broken stones kept falling from above, looking like it could collapse at any moment, but it ultimately didn't.

John summoned the Deformed Cannibal leader, and two small two-person containment cards appeared in his hand, preparing for containment.

If bullets couldn't kill them, he didn't believe grenades wouldn't work either.

After the scene quieted down, John cautiously peeked out and scanned the area.

He then silently recoiled as if he had seen a ghost.
