Chapter 45 - Chapter 45 – Split and Conquer

The academy's central courtyard had barely cooled from the previous onslaught when Mercer's voice echoed again, smooth and mocking.

"Think you've mastered the festival, Johnson? Let's see how well your team performs… apart."

Before anyone could react, the floor beneath several corridors shifted, separating groups of students and harem members. Johnson's heart sank, realizing Mercer's intent: by splitting his team, he aimed to isolate and eliminate them individually.

"Stay calm," Johnson shouted. "Stick to your assignments, keep in contact, and watch each other's backs even from a distance!"

Mika and the lilac-haired ally were pushed into a southern wing filled with traps. Their raw strength would be tested against waves of mercenaries armed with both weapons and improvised explosives.

Arisa, Johnson, and the silver-haired ally were diverted into a maze of narrow corridors, designed for close-quarters combat. The walls shifted, forcing them into tight spaces where every movement brought SMUT/harem tension—bodies brushing as they dodged spikes, leapt over traps, and struck enemies with lethal precision.

Hana and Liliane were guided into a control sector, tasked with hacking and rerouting traps while defending against stealth assassins. Even here, their proximity to each other allowed for subtle intimate touches, brief hand brushes as they coordinated under pressure.

The Black-haired girl was pushed into the shadows alone, tasked with intercepting hidden enemies before they could reach students. Silent, deadly, her every movement tested her reflexes and strategy under extreme stress.

Johnson's group moved through the maze, every step a calculated risk. Arisa spun past an enemy, her thigh brushing his side as she landed. The contact was fleeting but electrifying, intensifying the SMUT/harem dynamic even as danger surrounded them. The silver-haired ally struck from above, combining acrobatics and precise strikes to neutralize mercenaries in tight corridors.

Meanwhile, Mika's group barreled through the southern wing, smashing traps and enemies with synchronized attacks. The lilac-haired ally complemented her every strike, their bodies moving in near-perfect rhythm. Each brush of skin, each forced proximity, heightened the tension and energy flowing through the battlefield.

Hana and Liliane's hacking and guidance allowed several trapped students to escape a collapsing hallway. Fingers briefly brushed as they rerouted doors and deactivated automated traps, the intimacy of teamwork intertwined with life-or-death stakes.

The Black-haired girl moved silently, eliminating isolated threats before they could strike. Shadows were her ally, stealth and precision her weapons, yet the isolation tested her psychological limits, a contrast to the heated proximity elsewhere.

As each section of the academy became a separate battlefield, Johnson felt the pressure of command magnified. His harem, separated but fighting with precision, trust, and intimate tension, exemplified their unity despite physical distance.

Finally, after grueling confrontations in their respective sectors, the groups began converging back toward the central courtyard. Every member—Mika, Arisa, Hana, Liliane, Black-haired girl, and the new allies—had survived, their skill, strategy, and charged proximity ensuring that Mercer's attempt to divide them had failed.

Arisa leaned against Johnson as they reunited, breathless and smiling despite the danger. "Split, but still strong," she whispered, hand brushing his arm, a fleeting but potent SMUT/harem moment.

Johnson exhaled, heart pounding from adrenaline and proximity. Mercer's plan to divide them had tested their individual abilities, reflexes, and trust—but it had only strengthened their coordination, loyalty, and intimate bonds.

The Grand Festival had escalated further. Johnson's harem had survived the division, but Mercer's game was far from over. Each challenge had fused strategy, combat, and erotic tension, making them stronger—and more connected—than ever before.
