Chapter 215 - Confessions of a Guilty Sinner

Altair touched down onto the wooden floor of the tree hut with barely a sound, his landing as graceful as a feather on a still pond. He set Ren gently on her feet before folding his massive golden wings.

Ren took a shaky breath, her knees still trembling slightly from the adrenaline of the drop, and turned to look inside the Fox's den.

It was a disaster zone.

Vex might have been a brilliant shaman and a cunning trickster, but he was an absolute slob of a housekeeper. The nest was a chaotic explosion of dried herbs, scattered animal bones, molted fur, half-empty gourds, and random shiny trinkets strewn across the wooden floor.

Altair looked around, his flawless face remaining completely stoic, save for a very slight, disapproving frown pulling at the corners of his lips.

"It is messy," Altair noted, his low voice rumbling in the quiet canopy.

Ren's eyes lit up. She smiled, nodding enthusiastically as she turned to the glorious bird. "It is! You could help me clean it, then!"
