the Pokémon Stadium 2 stage…
Min Min skid back just in time, Lucina's blade slicing cleanly through the air where her neck had been a second earlier.
With a whip of her arm, Min Min's Dragon ARM coiled out and clamped onto one of the floating platforms overhead like a grappling hook, yanking her upward with noodle-like precision.
She landed with a hop, dusting herself off.
"Hey! You almost hit me!" Min Min complained, half-pout, half-laugh.
Lucina simply narrowed her eyes, adjusting her grip on the Falchion.
Min Min didn't give her a chance—she leapt and fired off a rapid swing from her Ram ARM, the glowing yellow sphere launching forward like a fastball—
Lucina flipped cleanly over it, cloak fluttering behind her.
She landed gracefully and whispered the incantation for a Fire Emblem spell, palm glowing blue.
"Elwind!"
A sharp burst of spiraling green wind blades shot out, slicing toward Min Min from behind—
Min Min yelped, twisting her noodle arms to block as best she could, the Dragon ARM bracing in front of her while her Ram ARM spun defensively.
---
Meanwhile, back in the Winner Wings…
Pit leaned forward, wings puffed up in excitement. "Woah, Lucina can use magic too!? Why does everyone with a sword get magic except me!?"
Phosphora smirked. "Because you have us. That's basically a cheat code."
Viridi elbowed her. "And because you'd immediately zap yourself."
Palutena nodded sagely. "He would definitely zap himself."
"Hey!" Pit huffed.
Wario crossed his arms, shaking his head violently. "WAH! That woman is terrifying! If I gotta fight her next, I'm forfeiting! I didn't sign up for magic swords!!"
Dr. Mario calmly took notes on a clipboard. "Magic swords are classified as 'occupational hazards' in this tournament."
Pit blinked. "Since when!?"
"Since round one," Dr. Mario said without looking up.
Back to the fight—
Min Min dug her heels into the ground as the Elwind spell finally dissipated, leaving scorch marks and a mess of torn grass behind her.
"Okay," she muttered, tightening her orange mask, "so that's how we're playing."
Lucina charged, Falchion blazing with blue aura.
Min Min fired her Ram ARM forward again—
Lucina deflected it—
Min Min twisted her body, the Dragon ARM heating up, crackling with energy—
FWOOOM!
A dragon-shaped burst of flame roared out.
Lucina slid under it, blade poised, eyes focused, ready to counter—
And the crowd exploded in cheers as the two clashed midair.
Lucina looked at the screen with the Damage
Lucina: 0%
Min Min: 6%
Lucina moved away from an attack, as then she saw dragon hand of min as it smacked her into the ground.
Lucina: 8%
Min Min: 6%
Lucina dusted herself off after the dragon-arm smack. "That was unexpected… but tell me—who exactly is cheering for you?"
Min Min froze mid-pose. "Huh? What do you mean?"
Lucina simply pointed toward the stands.
A whole section of Fire Emblem characters—Chrom, Robin, Marth, even Ike—were cheering like a synchronized choir.
Chrom cupped his hands around his mouth. "Don't lose, Lucina!"
Robin held up a handmade sign. "TEAM BLUE HAIR SUPREMACY!"

Meanwhile, the few spectators from the ARMS universe sat stiff and quiet. Except one.
Spring Man.
Who was clearly just a Trophy.
His face stared blankly forward while a cardboard sign leaned against him that read: "SHOULDA BEEN ME."
Min Min let out a deadpan sigh. "Yeah… no one from my universe is cheering. They're still salty I got the invite and Spring Man didn't. He hasn't blinked in three years."
Lucina lowered her sword a bit. "…Oof. Truly, that's tragic."
Min Min held up her arms defensively. "Hey—don't pity me! I've got my fans too!"
From the far back row, a single lonely voice yelled:
"GO MIN MIN!! …ALSO PLEASE NOTICE ME!"
Both fighters paused.
Min Min squinted. "…Is that… Ninjara?"
Lucina tilted her head. "He seems enthusiastic."
"…He owes me ramen money," Min Min muttered.
Lucina nodded politely. "Understandable. Fight on."
Min Min crouched low, the Dragon ARM humming with power as sparks of orange chi coiled around the coil-spring limb.
Min Min: "Dragon ARM… Supercharge!!"
The entire stage flashed as the dragon head lit up, pupils glowing, steam hissing from the vents. The audience leaned forward in hype.
Across from her, Lucina's feet slid apart into a perfect stance—classic Ylissean form, posture sharp as her blade.
Lucina: "Then I'll answer in kind… Crit Spark!"
She swung her Falchion, blue lightning tracing the arc of the strike. The two attacks collided mid-air—electric blue and fiery orange exploding into a shockwave that rattled the whole Pokémon Stadium.
BOOOOOM—!
The crowd erupted.
Damage Counter Updated:
Lucina: 17%
Min Min: 24%
Lucina skidded back a few inches, boots digging trenches in the platform. "Your reach is incredible… No wonder Spring Man is jealous."
Min Min laughed nervously, shaking out her ramen-bowl beanie. "Look, it's not my fault the admins love noodle-based martial arts, okay?!"
From the stands, Spring Man shouted through a megaphone he absolutely wasn't allowed to have:
Spring Man: "IT SHOULD'VE BEEN MEEEEEEE!!"
Pit, watching from the winner wing, blinked at the outburst. "…Wow. That's rough."
Phosphora snorted. "Imagine losing a Smash slot to noodles."
Viridi crossed her arms. "Honestly? Deserved."
---
BACK TO THE FIGHT
Lucina dashed forward with impossible speed—Falchion glowing with faint blue fire as she planned another perfect strike—
—but Min Min twisted, rubbery arms whipping out with that unorthodox ARMS momentum.
Min Min: "Left hook—!"
Lucina ducked.
Min Min: "Right hook—!"
Lucina parried.
Min Min: "DRAGON BLAST—!!"
Lucina: "Oh COME ON—!"
The dragon head fired a charged beam point-blank, sending Lucina flying diagonally upward in the classic Smash knockback spiral.
Damage Counter:
Lucina: 43%
Min Min: 24%
Min Min waved playfully as Lucina soared.
Min Min: "Hehe—ramen always hits the spot~!"
Lucina's displeased voice echoed from above: "That pun should be illegal!"
IN THE WINNER WING
Pit had both hands on his cheeks. "Oooh, she's good. Like… REALLY good."
Wario nodded gravely like he was watching a funeral. "Wa… sword girl is terrifying enough. But noodle girl?! Noodle girl is WORSE. I'm doomed…"
Palutena giggled. "Wario, you could always forfeit."
Wario gasped like someone insulted his mother. "WAAAA?! NEVER!! Wario never quits! I just… pre-panic."
Pandora patted him. "Understandable."
BACK ON STAGE
Lucina landed in a roll, wiping dust off her armor.
Lucina: "You fight well, Min Min. But a princess of Ylisse never loses."
Min Min grinned.
Min Min: "Good! Because an ARMS champion never bends!"
Lucina blinked. "…your arms literally bend."
Min Min: "It's a metaphor!"
Lucina: "Oh."
The two stared at each other for a half-second.
Then—
They both charged.
Falchion blazing.
Dragon ARM roaring.
Falchion blazed with blue fire, Lucina shouting:
"Crit—SPARK!"
Min Min's Dragon ARM roared to life:
"DRAGON ARM SUPERCHAAAARGE!"
The two attacks collided in the center of Pokémon Stadium 2.
BOOOOOOOM!!
A shockwave shook the floating platforms. Pikachu in the background fainted just from the pressure.
The explosion sent both fighters skidding back across the stage—Lucina digging her heels into the floor, Min Min flipping backward before catching herself with her stretchy ARM.
The damage numbers flashed:
Lucina: 66%
Min Min: 43%
Lucina exhaled, impressed. "You hit harder than I expected."
Min Min twirled her ARM and smirked. "You swing harder than expected. Thought Fire Emblem sword girls were all 'grace' and 'destiny'."
Lucina puffed slightly. "I am grace and destiny."
Min Min pointed at her. "Grace doesn't punt someone across the stage like a soccer ball!"
Lucina blushed. "…Fair."
Before the banter could continue, Min Min's Dragon ARM suddenly ignited again, unprompted.
She looked down at it, confused. "Huh? What—?"
From the stands, Spring Man, still stuck as an Assist Trophy with a cheap cardboard sign, was screaming:
"USE THE DRAGON ARM, MIN MIN!! SHOW HER THAT FLEX!!"
Min Min covered her face. "Oh no he does care… but I wish he didn't scream like that."
Lucina raised a brow. "He seems… passionate?"
"Yeah," Min Min sighed. "Passionate that he didn't get the Smash invite."
Lucina winced in sympathy. "Oof… again."
Suddenly, the big screen flashed:
SUDDEN SMASH ALERT: DRAGON ARM OVERHEAT!
Min Min's Dragon ARM started sparking wildly.
She panicked. "Uh—uh oh—this is new!"
Lucina immediately tightened her stance. "Then I shall take this opportunity—!"
She sprinted forward, Falchion glowing gold—
Min Min's ARM exploded.
Not big enough to KO, but big enough to knock Lucina backward and launch Min Min into the air like a rocket.
Lucina rubbed her face as her damage ticked up:
Lucina: 38%
Min Min, spinning uncontrollably mid-air, yelled:
"THIS IS NOT AN APPROVED TECHNIQUE!!"
Both fighters slid back, boots and sneakers digging lines into the Pokémon Stadium floor from the last clash. The screens above flickered with the updated percentages:
Lucina: 66%
Min Min: 81%
A few gasps rippled through the arena. The two women stood still for a moment—breathing sharp, eyes locked, weapons glowing with power.
Falchion burned with bright, holy blue flame.
Min Min's Dragon ARM crackled with charged energy, the maw sparking like it was ready to bite the air itself.
They both knew what was coming.
Pit, watching from the Winner Wing, leaned forward. "Oh this is gonna be big."
Viridi grinned. "Min Min better not miss. That's the kind of whiff that gets you sent straight into the blast zone."
Palutena pressed her hands together. "Lucina's crit ratio at this point… she might end this in one swing."
Back onstage—
Min Min stomped forward, twisting her torso. "DRAGON ARM—SUPERCHARGED!"
Lucina planted her feet, sword angled just right. "Falchion—CRITICAL SPARK!"
They dashed—blurs of orange and blue.
The Dragon ARM roared, fire spiraling along its length.
Falchion flared so bright the crowd shielded their eyes.
The collision hit like a small earthquake.
A shockwave burst outward, sending dust, sparks, and loose Poké Balls from the background flying offstage.
For a split second, the two attacks locked—Min Min grinding her heel into the ground, Lucina baring her teeth as she pushed back.
Then—
CRACK!
The energy burst in a massive explosion of light and flame.
A figure shot upward like a rocket.
Another slammed backward into the far wall.
The dust settled…
And on the giant screen, the KO blinked in red letters.
K.O. — LUCINA WINS!
Lucina landed, sliding a few feet before catching her balance, shoulders rising and falling from the effort.
Min Min lay on her back against the wall, smoke rising from her ramen beanie as her Dragon ARM fizzled out.
Lucina jogged over, offering a hand with a gentle smile. "You put up a strong fight. That last hit almost got me."
Min Min took the hand, wheezing a laugh. "Almost isn't enough in Smash. But hey—at least I made Spring Man jealous."
Somewhere in the crowd, Spring Man, as a trophy, vibrated angrily.
Pit winced from the Winner Wing. "Oof… that's gonna leave a mark."
Wario groaned loudly, clutching his face. "Waaa! Why?! Why did sword girl have to win?! I don't wanna fight the blue-haired crit machine!"
Dr. Mario patted his shoulder. "Just-a don't get hit."
Wario stared at him. "WAAAAA?!"
After the battle was over
A few second later, Both Min Min and Lucina cane to the Winner wings.
Min Min slumped into the loser's section beside Little Mac, Samus, and a very bandaged Pichu. Dr. Mario immediately hurried over with his doctor bag, already pulling out stethoscopes, potions, and—somehow—an X-ray machine he definitely did not have a moment ago.
Dr. Mario sighed dramatically as he checked Min Min's arm. "Mama mia… you tried to parry a critical hit with a noodle. No wonder you're at 81%."
Min Min groaned. "It's not a noodle, it's a Dragon ARM. …And yes, I regret everything."
Across the room, Lucina stepped into the winner's section. She looked refreshed—like she'd just taken a light jog rather than fought a woman with extendable limbs powered by ramen.
Pit waved at her. "Nice job! That finisher was incredible!"
Lucina smiled politely. "Thank you. She was tougher than she looked. And louder."
Wario peeked around Pit's shoulder, staring at Lucina like she was a tax audit. "Wa… I was really hoping Min Min won."
Lucina raised an eyebrow. "Because you like her?"
"No. Because you—" he pointed a trembling finger at her sword "—are terrifying."
Pit snorted. "Oh come on, Wario. You fought Samus. How bad could it be?"
Wario stared at Pit with hollow eyes. "…She turned me into a banana peel trap, Pit. A trap."
Pit quietly nodded. "…Fair enough."
Palutena floated closer, smiling at Lucina. "Well done. While you're recovering, you're welcome to enjoy any food from the divine buffet."
Viridi crossed her arms. "Except the fruit. I made that. Hands off."
Phosphora winked at Pit. "I personally recommend the lightning-fried donuts."
Lucina blinked. "I… think I'll stick to water."
Pit clapped his hands. "Alright! That's four matches down. Who's next?"
The large screen flickered to life.
ROUND 5:
Donkey Kong vs. Meta Knight
Pit's wings perked up. "Ooh, that's gonna be wild."
Wario screamed into his hands. "WHY IS EVERYONE FASTER THAN ME!?"
Lucina looked at the screen thoughtfully. "It will be interesting. Donkey Kong has raw power, but Meta Knight's speed—"
A loud impact BOOM echoed from the stage.
Meta Knight had already flown past DK so fast the camera could barely track him.
Lucina blinked. "…Never mind."
Pit laughed. "Yep! Smash is Chaos."
