Chapter 10 - Chapter 10: Power and Speed

"Sleeping again? Get up and start mining!"

Galos landed in front of two young dragons, lightly tapping their heads with his tail to wake them up.

They yawned.

The two young dragons felt their sleep was still unfinished.

"My dear brother Galos, can I rest a little longer?"

They asked in a weak voice.

When violence doesn't work, even the Evil Dragon thinks of playing the family card.

"No."

Galos ruthlessly refused; he had once given them a chance, willing to be a good Brother Long, but they didn't appreciate it and turned to provoke him.

Everyone chooses their own path.

They wanted a cold Brother Long, so Galos gave them what they wished for.

Hm!

Red Dragon Sister snorted coldly and reluctantly turned to walk into the mine.

As for Tie Longdi.

Upon hearing Galos' refusal, he still curled his lips, showing an arrogant and disdainful demeanor.

Very punch-worthy.

If Galos didn't know it's not intentional, just a crooked mouth from a crash that hasn't healed yet, he would have taken action.

Under Galos' gaze, Tie Longdi shrank his head, then maintained his crooked mouth dragon posture, saliva dripping from the corner, stepping deeper and shallower into the mine after Red Dragon Sister.

Looking up at the fiery sunset clouds.

Galos withdrew his gaze and looked down at his right forearm.

On the forearm armor, there was a small gray-white stone-like patch, a petrifying ray wound that petrified Dragon Scale and flesh.

Crack! Crack!

Galos removed the petrified Dragon Scale and flesh, revealing a small pit on his forearm.

Although the sensation was mild, Galos could still feel something peculiar happening, with his flesh undergoing a strange transformation.

Waiting for new flesh and Dragon Scale to grow.

If hit again by petrifying rays, the impact would surely be weakened.

Complete immunity requires extensive, repeated adaptation; currently, Galos didn't have that condition.

The wound was small, not affecting his activities, and under the fiery sun, he began experimenting with new training methods.

Ha!

Slowly exhaling.

The young dragon flapped his wings, making his body flip in the air, finally fully supporting his heavy body with a single forepaw, maintaining a one-arm handstand, bobbing up and down.

After a while.

The young dragon bent his tail to support on the ground, purely using the strong tail power to support his body and exercise the tail muscles.

Or he tilted his head back to press against the ground, moving his body in circles centered on his neck.

....... Specialized training moves not even in Dragon's Legacy appeared on Galos.

He was conducting power training.

Beyond power training, there was speed.

A while later, Galos soared into the sky, rushing into the starry night with twin moons hanging above, then took a deep breath, extending his Dragon Wings to their limits, starting to flap them rapidly.

However.

The young dragon, violently flapping his wings, found his body not rising but bizarrely descending slowly.

—— Dragon Race flight is actually a magical effect.

Given a Giant Dragon's weight and body ratio, it's hard for wings alone to support flight like a bird.

Actually, when Dragon Race flies, magical energy in the blood flows to the wings, forming effects similar to Floating Technique, combined with Magic-like Skills and wing power to soar in the sky.

Other intelligent species must prepare anti-flight spells when dealing with Dragon Race.

The principle is to negate the Floating Technique-like effect.

Galos didn't want to be helpless on the ground, beaten when opponents cast anti-flight spells during a battle.

He hoped he could fly relying solely on physical strength, soaring the skies.

That way, he'd have one less weakness, getting closer to a long-lived thousand-year-old goal.

Because he withdrew magical energy, losing the floating effect.

The heavy Dragon Race body continued to descend.

Galos' wings were tense, swinging up winds and currents, but still couldn't lift his body, only slowing the descent enough to glide.

This method put a huge burden on Galos' Dragon Wings.

Under unbearable load, an intense tearing pain kept coming from the wings.

Especially the membrane connecting the wings to the body, every flap felt like steel drills stabbing with pain.

The hard wing flapping in the dark had no audience or applause, while the young dragon gritted his teeth silent, just working his Dragon Wings, seeking adaptation and evolution through tearing pain.

Time slowly passed.

Until the twin moons sunk below the horizon and the first ray of sunlight broke through the clouds.

Galos finally completed a series of training plans, exhausted to the point that even Dragon Race's resilient body was overwhelmingly depleted.

An ache came all over, especially in the wings, almost without sensation, as if they'd been ripped away.

The young dragon breathed heavily, like a bellows.

Yet amidst fatigue and pain, his gaze was bright.

Because besides soreness, there was a tingly numbness.

This was a sign of adaptation and evolution, every exhaustion let Galos' body become more resilient and stronger, lasting longer next time, flying faster.

One day, he could truly soar the skies relying only on wings, unhindered by any magic Domain.

And when Galos prepared to rest.

Emerging from the mine, all dust-covered, Red Dragon Sister and Tie Longdi saw Galos in bad shape.

They exchanged a glance, then maliciously approached Galos step by step.

"My dear brother Galos, you seem very tired now,"

Red Dragon Sister asked.

The words were caring, yet filled with malice.

"Haha, this time we can beat you for sure,"

Tie Longdi curled his lips, chuckling like a villain, stepping closer.

"Itchy skin again?"

Galos said expressionless, standing tall and calm, gazing at them.

Seeing Galos' accumulated authority, despite his poor condition, it still made them hesitate.

"Thinking back, it seems it's been a while since teaching you a lesson."

Galos took a step forward, fierce light in his eyes.

With that step, both young dragons couldn't help but retreat, their previous bravado melting away into meekness.

"Just joking, just joking,"

"Dear brother, don't misunderstand,"

The two young dragons instantly backed down, retreating from Galos.

Galos snorted, generously ignoring their provocation.

In truth, he couldn't pursue them.

Because exploring beyond the Sky Pit Domain exposed him to many wild dangers, in fluctuating moods overtraining himself, nearly exhausting all stamina hence physically weak, risking being beaten if he fought.

Yet he showed no sign of weakness, his previous imposing presence quelled the two young dragons.

They lost the only chance to beat him for revenge.

"Next time in training, better save some energy just in case,"

Galos thought, then casually found a pit he made himself, not picky, laying open-air, using his tail as a pillow, folding his wings over his body and resting.

In the days to come, Galos' life was regular and rich.

Apart from daily training and pushing young dragons to mine, he frequently ventured out of Sky Pit Domain, battling fierce beasts and creatures to hone combat skills, searching suitable habitat for his future solitary survival.

Thus.

A year passed by quickly.
