Chapter 6 - Chapter 6: Knowledge Is Power

"The potions produced during this time are all here, handed over to you, big brother, for distribution," Sunan said.

"You've worked hard!"

Kei patted Sunan on the shoulder with excitement, then looked at the potions on the table and asked, "How effective are these potions on senior knights?"

"Very limited," Sunan replied without hesitation, "They can only enhance the physique of a senior knight by about one to two percent."

"I see."

Kei shook his head a bit disappointedly; it would be too wasteful for him to take the potion.

He thought for a moment, then turned around and called out, "Jordon."

"Yes, sir."

The knight, whose name was called, stepped forward with joy.

Kei picked up a bottle of potion and tossed it to Jordon.

"Drink it."

Without hesitation, Jordon pulled out the wooden cork and poured the crimson liquid into his mouth.

In the next moment, his skin visibly turned red, veins protruding, and his face contorted with pain.

However, it lasted less than two minutes before Jordon's body returned to normal.

He took deep breaths, sweating profusely, yet he appeared extremely invigorated.

"What a miraculous effect!"

"I feel my strength has increased significantly, and my reaction speed has also improved."

Jordon excitedly gestured with his hands and feet.

Sunan nodded secretly.

The enhancement magnitude of the Lesser Dragon Blood Potion for junior knights should be between 0.7 to 0.9 points of physique.

It's important to note that the physique of a junior knight is only between 8 to 10.

An increase of about one-tenth is already considered a significant boost.

If it were for senior knights, it might only increase the physique by 0.2 to 0.3 points.

But this is just a zero-grade low-quality Lesser Dragon Blood Potion. In the future, as the potion-making skills improve and material quality enhances, it will naturally be possible to create more effective Dragon Blood Potions.

Seeing Jordon's transformation, the surrounding knights' eyes lit up, their gaze on the potions growing increasingly fervent.

Kei's face also revealed a joyful smile. After some thought, he said, "Call Nelson, Kadi, Nodan... and the others over!"

Kei named seven people in a row.

These were all apprentice knights who followed the brothers from Flashing Territory, warriors left to them by their father with guaranteed loyalty.

The Lesser Dragon Blood Potion was naturally prioritized for these individuals.

Immediately, a knight turned to pass on the order.

The other knights were somewhat disappointed but soon composed themselves.

They all clearly understood that rather than using the potion on them to enhance some strength, it was more appropriate to use it on the apprentice knights.

If a few more knights could be strengthened, it would benefit Black Stone City even more!

Especially when the Black-scaled Lizardmen were gearing up to invade Black Stone City.

Even three or four more knights at this time would greatly alleviate Black Stone City's shortage of manpower.

Quickly, the seven selected apprentice knights were brought to the council chamber.

After consuming the Lesser Dragon Blood Potion, three of them immediately condensed a Life Seed, breaking through to become official knights.

Although the remaining four didn't break through, seeing their condition, it was evident they were not far from being promoted to knights.

All seven of them were so excited their faces turned red.

Kei encouraged the seven with a few words, then looked around with a solemn expression and said, "The existence of the potion is crucial. Without my permission, no one present is allowed to disclose the potion to anyone else. Those who violate this order will not be spared from military punishment!"

Everyone straightened their expressions and responded in unison.

They were not stupid and understood what the potion represented.

Not to mention, if the rebel in Flash City knew about the Lesser Dragon Blood Potion, they would undoubtedly target Black Stone City aggressively, not allowing them to develop and grow peacefully.

Sunan initially wanted to remind them, but seeing his brother's thorough consideration, he said no more and took out a list from his pocket, handing it to Kei.

"Big brother, please help me gather the materials on this list. Get as much as you can."

"Also, keep an eye out for Wizard's Scripture for me."

"No problem," Kei nodded without hesitation.

Having witnessed the magic of the Lesser Dragon Blood Potion, he no longer doubted the wizard's methods but was filled with awe and admiration.

Now he was eager to fulfill all his brother's requests so that he could focus on research and produce potions even more powerful than the Lesser Dragon Blood Potion.

...

As Frostfall Month arrived, the weather grew increasingly cold.

Black Stone City already carried a hint of desolation.

The militiamen's breath formed a thin white mist in the cold air, hovering over the city walls, many of them huddling behind the parapets, rubbing their hands to fend off the chill, occasionally poking their heads out to look outside.

Suddenly, one of them stood up abruptly, widened his eyes as he looked into the distance, and then shouted loudly, "Scout cavalry are coming, heading this way from Kassel Village."

A few militiamen quickly lowered the basket to pick up people.

Ten minutes later, a loud alarm bell echoed over Black Stone City.

Everyone heard the sound.

In the study, Sunan raised his head, his expression slightly shifting.

"This bell... the Black-scaled Lizardmen have finally arrived."

Since last month, Black Stone City had been preparing for the impending invasion of the Black-scaled Lizardmen, temporarily relocating residents from distant villages into the city.

For closer villages, soldiers were stationed to guard them.

Meanwhile, Kei, armored, was stationed in Black Stone City, ready to lead the army to eradicate the Black-scaled Lizardmen at any moment.

In past years, this time would always be a period of heavy atmosphere for Black Stone City.

After all, the invasion by the Black-scaled Lizardmen would inflict significant damage on Black Stone City.

Population casualties, building damage, trampled fields... all these losses would take the entire spring of the following year to slowly recover.

In the war against the Black-scaled Lizardmen, Black Stone City never gained any advantage, and success or failure would deplete its vitality.

But this year was different.

The existence of the Lesser Dragon Blood Potion turned the blood of the Black-scaled Lizardmen into nourishment for the strengthening of Black Stone City's army.

With every Black-scaled Lizardman killed, Black Stone City's army gained more strength.

Black Stone City now had the capital to grow stronger through warfare!

In this situation, the invasion by the Black-scaled Lizardmen was no longer a mere disaster for Black Stone City; instead, it had become an opportunity.

As long as they could obtain a large number of Black-scaled Lizardman corpses, Black Stone City could produce a large batch of apprentice knights and even knights next year.

With interests driving them, the army would naturally explode with multiplied morale and enthusiasm.

Sunan could already envision the excited expressions of the knight commanders charging towards the Black-scaled Lizardmen.

"Just one zero-grade potion can turn Black Stone City's predicament around."

"Knowledge is truly power; this statement is indeed correct."

Sunan's eyes glistened as he lowered his head to continue reading the book.

On the slightly yellowing pages, the first line was inscribed with small black letters.

'Wisdom is the true source of a wizard's power!'
