That day, Yuan Chun's family also went up the mountain.

As usual, they divided the work: the men chopped firewood, preparing for winter, while the women took the children to gather mountain products, leaving Ding Chunli at home to do housework.

There were too many people gathering mountain goods on the outskirts of the deep mountains, all from nearby villages. Some even argued over picking chestnuts, just because someone else got them cheaper from below the tree.

Yuan Chun didn't want to compete with others, so she took her family to a secluded valley on the edge of the deep mountains, where there were a few chestnut trees that no one had discovered.

Perhaps due to the valley's moisture and abundance of water, the chestnuts on the trees were growing very well, big and dense. They were so heavy they bent the branches.

Grandma Feng squinted her eyes with a smile and said, "If we pick all the nuts from these trees, it's at least a thousand pounds."
