The temperature at the bar had risen to an intensely tense one. A stubborn Austin Dre was continuously arguing with the owner and Lady Fire until he caught the attention of Jayden Brii, the arrogant and self-centered young heir of the Brii family who had just been reprimanded and warned to be kicked away from the family and the title of heir to the family head revoked by his grandfather Infront of all other members of his family.
He had suffered too much embarrassment; hence he came to the Royal Sailors to vent. However, things didn't always go as planned. He had met the most arrogant man according to his standards he had ever seen.
He wasn't only disrespecting Mr. King, the owner of the bar, but also, The Lady, the woman of his dreams, how could he let a mere ant get away with it. He heaved his chest back and for in anger. Everyone among those gathered to watch the drama held their breaths.
Who dared offend young master Jayden? They were surely courting death. They were all eager to see how this would play out. Even though they were worried, surely no one disliked a good show.
"This kid he is surely done for," one of them thought.
"What a naive brat?"
"This is outrageous, who is this kid?"
All of them had similar ideas, but reality was bound to slap them hard in the face.
In terms of status. The two were like heaven and Earth, although among the spectators, no one knew Austin Dre. The truth was that he had such a terrifying background, that anyone among those gathered in the entire room would have goosebumps if they knew.
The Dre family was a modern-day power house.
Not only on business, they had a long influence on government and politics.
Its subsidiaries were in the millions all over the globe.
Anyone who gained a favor from even half the descendants of the family could rise to power so fast that even the person would be shocked, let alone a true descendant of the family.
Austin Dre was the son of the current head of the Dre family. He was the only son of the head; hence many believed he would soon take over from his father. However, things were not as they seemed in the end. These were just rumors.
No one among the public knew or had ever seen this mysterious heir of the Dre family.
Since Austin Dre was little, his father had always taught him the importance of anonymity and humility, so as he grew up, he was not associated with the public at all.
He only appeared when major events were being held by the family.
However, with the Dre family's influence, no one dared to air out his identity even though some of the gatherings were held in public and the press invited.
No one dared to offend the famous family. Even when the photos were published online in the newspapers, they were either blurry or only captured his back.
Austin Dre just felt bored, he wanted some excitement do he deliberately provoked the Lady hoping to attract the attention of some arrogant kids and make trouble.
He also had another reason. When he first saw that woman, he felt a deep sense of familiarity he had only felt once in his entire life, when he was in college, but that was another story.
Knowing his fate, he decided to have some fun, so he shouted.
"And who are you?" The question was clearly to provoke Jayden. Who didn't know Jayden Brii, let alone that? Who can say he or she never heard of the name Brii? The second-largest family in the city and the most rapidly growing BRII corporation in the business world. Was this a joke?
Jayden Brii scoffed and asked, "What, are you an idiot? Or did you just walk out of a cave or something, who doesn't know the Brii Family in Quezon City?"
"That's the question. Are you sure your family can allow you to go along offending everyone on the way just to keep your stupid ego? Will your father agree with what you are doing, Jayden Brii?"
Everyone was taken aback by Austin Dre's blatant reprimand of Jayden Brii. They all took deep breaths and waited for Jayden Brii to answer.
At that moment, Jayden Brii faced showed a certain fear and reluctance. Truly, he recalled how his grandfather had threatened and warned him about his actions and their effects on his future advancement within the family. He was fighting within himself. This kid had just shamed him in public by reprimanding him like his father. How could he let him go? However, looking at the bigger picture. This kid was just a random fool trying to make trouble for him. He was like the devil trying to devour his life and destroy his future. He had successfully succeeded in angering him, but he would fall for it. If he did, that would be another story. This would not threaten his position in the family however if he did not, he would lose his former glory as an unparalleled young talent and a seamless status in the city.
Who was this punk? He was no pushover and for a long time now his position and status in the city hadn't been challenged.
"Oh yeah, you think you can threaten me with my family?" he asked coquettishly.
The sinister laugh began and went on again. No one said a word. This strange guy's behavior greatly instilled fear into them. Most of all, his hearty eerie laugh.
Even Jayden Brii felt fear envelop him. This guy was too mysterious and courageous to deal with.
After sometime, it stopped and everyone glared at Austin Dre unblinkingly.
"So you are that, asshole Jayden Brii Ehn?" he asked coldly.
Jayden Brii didn't answer, Austin Dre continued.
"How is your future mistress doing?" There murmurs among the individuals there.
"What?" "Mr. Jayden is getting married?" Someone asked.
"Are you an idiot? Don't you watch the news."
"It has been the hottest topic for the last few days now,"
"He just announced publicly that he is going to marry the goddess of Quezon City,"
"Yeah, and she is the CEO of the Jacobs company,"
"They are such a super couple."
"Shut up!" An angry voice roared. Everyone shut up and looked down.
"You shit head, how does my personal life concern,"
This time Austin Dre didn't laugh. He didn't speak either.
The silence trailed off until it was unbearable.
"What, are you looking down on me?" Berated a fuming Jayden.
Everyone at the scene was in wonder. They all knew Jayden's temper and behavior. He wasn't one to waste his time chatting with a loser like this guy. Why was he hesitating, they all wondered.
The reason, however unclear to the public, was simple. Jayden was trying to control himself for his position in the family. He knew his father and grandfather the best. When they said something, they surely kept their promise no matter what. If he did something hasty, he knew that he would actually be removed from the family.
He even had a notion that someone was watching him right now or maybe this arrogant kid was a trap laid by that cunning old man to test him, so he had to be careful. However, his patience had a limit. He couldn't take this amount of embarrassment anymore.
He clenched his fists and launched towards the arrogant guy facing away from him. He had to regain his lost status no matter what. Even if it meant alarming his grandfather.
By rebuking him publicly like this, wasn't this guy even looking down on the Brii family, who was he to think he could do something like this and get away? He had to teach him a lesson.
Everyone's eyebrows widened as they watched the punch approaching the man seated there callously.
They all expected something like this, but what came next was utterly unprecedented.
Before the punch connected, a figure jumped from the side and blocked it. Not only that, but the figure also attacked the stunned Jayden.
He was caught off guard by the sudden attack. The figure's speed was top-notch. No one in the room saw it move, but the next thing they saw was a flying body which landed a few meters away.
Lee had been closely watching the exchange. At first, he wondered what his boss was doing, but when he learned of Jayden's identity, he understood Austin's predicament and reaction, so he played along.
When he saw that the guy was about to attack his boss, his mouth curled up as he thought, "I guess it's my moment to shine, Lemme avenge your boss," he then moved in a flash and blocked Jayden's punch before punching him and throwing him a few meters away.
Lee stood in front of Austin Dre with a frown. "I thought he was stronger. I only used half my full strength." "I guess he is just all talk," he thought.
At that moment, Austin Dre stood up and turned around for the first time.
Everyone who had been arguing all this time hadn't seen the face of this mysterious arrogant individual.
The people scanned his features. They racked their brains to see if they remembered any big shot looking like him, but their memories were blank. His stature looked familiar, but they had never seen that face.
He walked to the guy lying on the ground in a pile and bent down.
He smirked and said, "I guess this is karmic retribution for you. Don't worry, this is just the beginning" he continued, smiling mysteriously.
Jayden opened his mouth to speak. However, he couldn't. He coughed up blood.
Even though his expression was stern, his eyes betrayed him, there was a spec of deep terror in them. His heart was beating louder as his entire body felt numb from the pain. It seemed he had broken a few ribs.
Austin Dre watched him in disgust and then stood up.
He turned around and scanned the room, which was as silent as a cemetery.
He then announced, "I am Austin Dre, and I am not done with you," he pointed at the miserable-looking Jayden
Brii.
He then looked coldly at the Lady who seemed to be sweating behind that mask.
He then walked away as the other four followed him closely. When he was at the exit door, he turned and glared at the frozen Lady. He then looked away and walked away as his eerie laugh resonated until it finally faded away in the air. Everyone in the room gave out a deep breath. The lady collapsed in a nearby chair as she scratched her covered face. It was too hot for her. Sweat trickled down throughout her body. His dress had slowly become dump, so it hugged her body well and showed her amazing figure very well.
Mr King looked at her and, without asking, assisted her out of the room. Before that, he apologized to everyone and asked them to leave as today he would close early.
It seemed like everyone was waiting for this to leave as soon as they heard him say that they all hurried away.
On the ground, Jayden Brii was holding his chest as his face was contorted, as if in excruciating pain.
His friends who he was drinking with earlier ran and assisted him. At that time, more than a dozen men walked into the bar. They also ran to him as they shouted, "Boss, are you okay?"
He looked at them coldly and yelled, "You idiots, what does my family pay you for?" At that time, he coughed again and blood splattered on the ground.
The men panicked and helped him up. They then assisted him to the car as he hurled insults at them.
As he was dragged out, he thought, "Austin Dre, where have I heard this name? It sounds familiar,"
He then yelled again and slowly passed out.
