Chapter 3 - Chapter 3: The Rules and Etiquette of the Serpent Beasts

The system noticed her concern, "Don't worry, Luna. As a newbie, I have a beginner's gift pack for you. It contains some stuff that you really need right now."

As soon as the words fell, a large gift pack appeared before Luna Sutton.

She reached out and opened it, and three items fell out: shampoo, shower gel, and face wash.

Seeing these three items, her heart fluttered uncontrollably; these were exactly what she needed most now.

Especially the shampoo, as her hair was so greasy that clean water couldn't wash it off.

Luna Sutton looked at the three items, and the balance in her heart started to tilt.

The system noticed her hesitation and sweetened the deal, "Every time you increase your affinity level, you'll receive generous rewards. These rewards not only improve your life in this world but can also make you prettier, help you lose weight, and boost your strength. Just think, with these items, why worry about those beasts and natural forces?"

Thinking about becoming beautiful and living better, Luna Sutton's heart jumped.

She looked at her ugly reflection in the river water, and a strong desire surged within her.

Who could endure becoming so ugly? Even if she wasn't obsessed with appearance, she couldn't stand it.

She looked worse than zombies from her previous life.

After hesitating again and again, she gritted her teeth, "Alright, for the beginner's gift pack, I'll give it a try. Are there any time limits or electric shocks if I don't complete it?"

If there were penalties, she definitely wouldn't accept.

The system quickly reassured her, "No worries, Luna, there's no time limit on the tasks, you can take your time. Plus, we're very user-friendly, and there are no penalties if you don't complete them."

"That's good to hear."

Luna Sutton nodded in satisfaction and didn't chat further with the system.

She started focusing on washing her hair.

Her hair was unbelievably dirty; the bubbles disappeared in an instant, and she had to keep squeezing more, feeling heartbroken.

If she ran out, there'd be nowhere to buy more.

She washed over and over again, taking three or four rounds before her hair was clean.

The river surface was covered with a layer of black grease and unknown leaves, and even the surrounding river water was pitch black.

She also used face wash and shower gel to clean herself.

Using a large rock as cover, she took off her dirty beast skin skirt, threw it on the shore, and submerged her whole body in the water, scrubbing hard.

Thankfully, no one came over, allowing her to breathe a sigh of relief.

The former owner hadn't bathed in ages, with thick layers of grime stuck on her body, dry and hard.

Even with shower gel, it couldn't be cleaned.

Her fingernails were blackened, full of grime, and the ten toenails were the same, hard and solid; neither washing nor picking could remove it.

She found a sharp stone by the river and carefully cleaned out the grime.

For those parts of her body she couldn't clean, she used a rough soft stone to rub against her skin.

Not only did it not hurt, but it felt especially comforting, like scratching an itch.

Truly tough skin.

Luna Sutton's mouth twitched; she couldn't imagine how a woman could be this dirty.

Uh... In the beast world, they're not called women, but females, but it means the same thing.

The layers of grime rolled off into the river.

The surrounding river water couldn't even be described as murky anymore; it was pitch black, like ink.

Luna Sutton washed for a long time before getting clean; luckily the weather was hot, so she didn't fear catching a cold.

After scrubbing, she felt revitalized, several pounds lighter, and noticeably whiter.

Feeling clean and comfortable, even her mood improved.

She was just about to climb ashore.

Suddenly, a "bang" echoed behind her, followed by splashing water and a massive whirlpool.

Luna Sutton jumped in fright, thinking it was an earthquake or a landslide, instinctively looking that way.

She saw a slaughtered wild ox floating in the river, not yet dissected, unsure who threw it in for cleaning.

Looking to the shore, she caught sight of Rhys Blackwood standing there, looking at her, visibly shocked.

He seemingly hadn't expected her here.

Luna Sutton hadn't expected to meet Rhys Blackwood here; she was stark naked and her face turned bright red.

She instinctively crouched down, hiding her body in the water, leaving only her head exposed.

Rhys Blackwood likely thought she was waiting here for him on purpose, trying to seduce him.

The former owner had done anything for a few Beast Husbands.

Thinking that way made her feel terrible.

Rhys Blackwood indeed thought so too, his expression turning cold with disgust.

This female was becoming shameless.

Upon returning, he had heard Mia say she fed Corbin Crowley the aphrodisiac fruit.

Now, to mate with him, she resorted to such vile tactics.

Utterly nauseating.

"Get lost now..."

His icy voice was as cold as midwinter.

Luna Sutton felt frustrated, clearly she was the one suffering the loss.

Why did it feel like he was the one being taken advantage of?

Even if this man was her Beast Husband, her target in the system, she had no intention of indulging Rhys Blackwood's awful attitude.

"Is the riverbank your home? You can come here but I can't? I was here bathing first and you suddenly barged over. You saw all of me and didn't even apologize, but told me to leave. Is this the rule and etiquette of snake beasts?"

Her words were sharp and well-reasoned, leaving Rhys Blackwood unable to retort.

He looked at Luna Sutton's bumpy, greasy face, which at this moment seemed cleaner than before, at least not as slovenly.

Though curious about her rare bath today, he paid it no mind.

Just surprised at her reaction, he hadn't expected her to say that.

Previously, this female always looked infatuated and eager to please whenever she saw him; even when he spoke harshly, she'd never retort, just looked at him expectantly.

Today seemed completely different...

Both articulate and becoming clean.

Rhys Blackwood glanced at the filthy, greasy river surface, an involuntary flash of distaste in his eyes.

"I wasn't aware you were here."

He moved the wild ox to the riverbank to prevent it from being washed away, then turned and walked off.

Luna Sutton watched his departing back, and exhaled in relief.

She moved to the shore, cleaned the dirty beast skin skirt, and wore it soaked.

Using the river to examine herself.

Once clean, her skin looked much whiter; though still covered in pustules and acne, terribly ugly, at least a bit cleaner.

She sighed again at her reflection full of acne and pustules.

The previous owner had eaten meat all year long, disliking fruits and wild vegetables, leading to excessive oil secretion, hence all the acne.

She recalled the previous owner hadn't defecated for ages, at least a week.

Her mouth twitched; clearly she was constipated.

Alright, she'd have to figure out how to relieve herself.

Eyeing the wild ox by the river, her stomach growled; starving, yet realizing it was Rhys Blackwood's catch, she turned away.

With a thought, a slender vine appeared in her palm.

Her gaze fell on the fish and shrimp swimming in the river; with another thought, the vine in her palm flew out.

Quickly entwining a few large fish in the river, she pulled them ashore effortlessly.

Luna Sutton walked over to the flopping big fish on the ground, smiling in satisfaction.
