Chapter 10 - Chapter 10: Astonishing All the Beasts

Maya felt humiliated and bit her teeth in hatred. She wouldn't hate Corbin Crowley.

She only hated Luna Sutton. So ugly, lazy, greedy, and evil. How could she be worthy of Corbin Crowley?

Fate is truly blind.

If it weren't for having a leader as a father, she would have been kicked out of the tribe long ago.

Luna Sutton didn't care what Maya thought and had already returned with the animal skins.

Passing by the Tribal Square, she noticed numerous Beastmen gathered there. Corbin Crowley, Rhys Blackwood, Kian Sterling, Zeke Veridian, Malachi Arcanus, and her brother Mason Sutton were all present.

Of course, other Beastmen were there too.

A huge crowd, at least a hundred Beastmen.

Her father, Lyle Sutton, was also there, standing at the forefront, instructing the Beastmen present.

Listening closely, it was nothing but today's hunting location and safety reminders.

Clearly, they were about to go hunting.

Excited, Luna Sutton walked over with the animal skins.

Lyle Sutton spotted her at once and immediately frowned, scolding with a stern face, "What are you doing here? Hurry and get back!"

This daughter was really disappointing. Lazy, greedy, and not likable. Moreover, she was extremely infatuated, yet strikingly ugly, which utterly embarrassed him.

Lyle Sutton couldn't understand. Both he and the female looked pretty decent, and their son Mason Sutton was doing alright. How did their daughter turn out so ugly?

But he never doubted that Luna Sutton wasn't his child, mainly because those eyes were identical to his.

Precisely because she was his own, he felt angry.

Luna Sutton, seeing the disgust in Lyle's eyes, was speechless.

How much must he have despised the original owner?

She pouted and ignored the disdainful gaze, speaking to him directly, "Father, I want to follow you all to hunt too."

In the original book, the main character Chloe Callahan was brought back to The Wolf Tribe by Corbin Crowley this time. Though Chloe Callahan had already appeared early, and she had thrown her away far yesterday afternoon.

But she never underestimated the protagonist's aura, who knows how Chloe might encounter Corbin Crowley again and be brought back to the tribe.

She had to personally watch over.

Plus, eating roast meat and fish every day was unbearable, her mouth was nearly bland to death.

She urgently needed to improve her life.

Lyle Sutton thought he heard wrong, looking at her in surprise, "What did you say?"

Luna Sutton repeated, "I said, I want to go hunting with you all too."

As her words fell, there was a moment of silence all around.

Then, the square burst into laughter.

"Hahaha, did you hear that? Luna Sutton said she wants to go hunting too? That's hilarious."

"A lazy, greedy female wants to go hunting too? I bet she isn't..."

The Beastman wanted to say Luna Sutton "had a problem with her brain," but he swallowed the words after glancing at the leader in front, afraid of angering him.

No matter how much the leader disliked Luna Sutton, she was still his daughter. Saying that would surely make the leader unhappy.

"I think she's just trying to get close to a few Beast Husbands, hahaha..."

The other Beastmen also joined in the mocking.

Due to the leader's presence, they didn't overdo it, but the words still sounded unpleasant.

Even Corbin Crowley, Rhys Blackwood, Kian Sterling, Zeke Veridian, and Malachi Arcanus looked at her frowning.

Thinking like everyone else that she was just trying to get close to them, their expressions showed disgust.

Luna Sutton paid no mind to their mockery, nor did she mind the Beast Husbands' disdainful looks, only calmly gazing at Lyle Sutton.

"Father, rest assured, I won't hold everyone back. I've awakened the Wood Element Ability and can protect myself."

As her words fell, she placed the animal skin she was holding on a big stone in the square, extended her right hand, and activated her ability.

Soon, a small vine sprouted in her palm, lush green, appearing before all the Beastmen present.

This world had abilities, like how Corbin Crowley's true form was the Silver-moon Ice Wolf and he could control ice.

Rhys Blackwood, Kian Sterling, Zeke Veridian, and Malachi Arcanus all had their own innate abilities.

The tribe's Beastmen naturally possessed abilities too, and they could freely switch between their true forms and human forms.

But females couldn't; they had no innate abilities.

Now, with Luna Sutton declaring she had awakened an ability, one could imagine the shock of the Beastmen present.

The laughter on the square stopped abruptly. All the Beastmen widened their eyes in disbelief, staring at the small green vine in her palm.

A female awakening an ability? This was unheard of, unseen.

Lyle Sutton stared in astonishment at the small vine in Luna Sutton's palm, unable to recover for a long time.

He'd lived for so many years and had never seen a female awaken an ability.

Not just him, none of the Beastmen present had seen such a thing.

In the past, they would have scoffed, absolutely refusing to believe.

But now, with the facts in front of them, they had no choice but to believe.

Watching the stunned expressions of everyone, Luna Sutton felt a surge of delight inside, yet her face remained calm, maintaining a composed demeanor.

She even drove her ability further, letting the vine in her palm grow longer, twirling around her fingertips, appearing very lively.

This made everyone's view of her change again.

There's curiosity, exploration, and even a bit of envy....

The Beast Husbands, seeing the vivid green vine in Luna Sutton's palm, also eased their expressions of disdain, showing a hint of surprise.

This female seemed indeed different.

Lyle Sutton, the first to snap back to reality, looked at her with a complex gaze and asked in a serious tone, "Is this truly your awakened ability?"

Luna Sutton nodded, "Yes."

Lyle Sutton's expression lifted slightly, asking, "When did you awaken?"

"Yesterday."

Luna Sutton didn't conceal it and spoke truthfully.

After all, the ability was adapted from the apocalypse, and she wasn't afraid of investigation.

Lyle Sutton cast her a deep look, pondering over something.

He didn't continue questioning.

Turning his gaze to the Beastmen present, he proclaimed, "Since Cynthia awakened an ability and wants to hunt, she can join us. You all look after her, make sure she doesn't get hurt."

As his daughter had awakened an ability, he naturally wouldn't oppose anymore.

A female in the tribe awakening an ability was a huge deal.

Perhaps his daughter might lead the tribe to a new pinnacle in the future.

With such thoughts, Lyle Sutton's gaze on Luna Sutton became much more amiable.

There was even a trace of satisfaction.

Luna Sutton: "..."

How did she feel this gaze of satisfaction was somewhat unreliable?

Sure enough.

Next moment, Lyle Sutton continued, "Since you've awakened an ability, let's put the past behind. Show yourself well in the future, strive to gain everyone's recognition soon, and make me proud, understand?"

Luna Sutton's lips twitched hard.

Make him proud?

Why did she feel this old man was planning to use her for showing off?

Luna Sutton, speechless, ultimately had no intention of exposing Lyle Sutton's plans and obediently replied, "Understood, Father."

Regardless of his plans, for now, it seemed to be beneficial for herself.

Seeing herself allowed to follow along, she quickly spread the washed animal skins on nearby stones to dry.

When the stones couldn't hold them, she spread them out on the lawn.

The present Beastmen watched her actions with surprised expressions.

The tribe's notoriously lazy female was actually washing animal skins voluntarily?

Truly reformed?
