Chapter 2 - Chapter 2: She's Very Timid

A petite, soft, and adorable young lady was seen with the Eldest Master Grant of the Grant Family, and this news spread quickly.

It is said that the little girl is very cute, speaks in a soft and mellow voice, and just makes people want to protect her.

"Hey buddy, that's not fair, hiding a beauty in the deep house."

Leo Grant and Holly Sawyer were having a meal when Noah Raines barged in. He looked at Holly sitting opposite Leo and grumbled discontentedly.

Leo is twenty-two years old this year and has only had one girlfriend. After breaking up, he has been alone and always stayed clear of any flirtations, particularly maintaining his propriety.

Holly raised her eyes to look at Noah, then lowered her head to continue eating, appearing as if she wished she could bury her head in the bowl.

"You've scared the little girl."

Leo frowned in displeasure, looking at Noah as he spoke.

The little girl is naturally timid, and Noah's sudden intrusion made her want to bury her head in the bowl.

"Oh, is the little girl really that scared?"

Noah sat at the dining table without any restraint, and Mrs. Hayes added a set of utensils.

Noah and Leo have been buddies since childhood. Though they often bicker, they share a deep brotherly bond.

Mrs. Hayes is Leo's housekeeper, and Noah often drops by for meals, so she's used to it.

Holly remained silent, her head bowed low, not daring to look at Noah, her rice nearly sticking to her fair face.

"Shut up, either eat and don't talk or hurry up and leave."

Leo frowned, looking at Noah in displeasure.

The little girl's courage is not great, she is probably scared of seeing strangers.

"Alright, I'll zip it."

Noah made a zipping motion with his hands, but his eyes lingered interestingly on Holly.

His buddy likes this type of little girl; he hadn't known that before.

The little girl is tiny and soft and mellow, just making people feel protective.

"Sit properly; your face is almost buried in the bowl."

Leo peeled a shrimp for Holly and placed it in her bowl; his voice was somewhat gentle.

The little girl is too timid.

"Oh."

Holly responded, lifting her head, but dared not look around.

Accidentally meeting Noah's playful gaze, her hand couldn't help but tremble, fearfully averting her eyes.

"Put away that look."

Leo tapped Noah's bowl with chopsticks as a reminder.

"Alright, alright, women are like clothes, brothers are like limbs. You're the type who can lose limbs but must wear clothes."

Noah whistled cheekily, teasingly looking at Leo.

Hmm, brotherhood changes when there's a woman involved.

"Shut up, don't blabber nonsense."

Leo said coldly.

This young girl simply has amnesia; he just took her in temporarily, there's nothing more to it.

"Brother, I'm full..."

Holly slowly stood up, speaking softly, then carried her bowl into the kitchen.

She stumbled adorably, very endearing.

"Brother? Oh huh, Eldest Master Grant, you have this kind of quirk, eh?"

Noah laughed with his mouth covered, watching her stumble amusingly into the kitchen.

This little girl seems silly, adorably dense.

Leo: "Finish your meal."

"No, you actually like this kind of girl?"

Noah raised his eyebrows incredulously at Leo.

That can't be right, he's known Leo for so long, knows everything about him, but never knew he liked this type.

"No, the young girl is just picked up, has amnesia, is temporarily living with me."

"The young girl is quite timid, don't scare her."

Leo rubbed his temples as he spoke.

After picking Holly up from the police station, Leo regretted it, but seeing her look of fear, he couldn't bring himself to send her back.

Well, alright then.

"Aren't you going to investigate? I believe you'll be faster than the police."

Noah pondered for a moment and said, since the young girl has lost her memory, staying beside Leo isn't quite right.

Leo has a complex background, some things could potentially implicate the young girl.

"I've checked, nothing came up."

Leo shook his head; after getting back from the police station, he personally looked into Holly but found nothing.

"The little girl may have forgotten her real name."

Noah thought for a moment and said. The fear in the little girl's eyes seems genuine, not feigned, probably no problem with her.

——

Holly sat quietly on the bed, holding a plush toy and gazing at the computer screen showing a popular idol drama.

After Noah left, Leo entered Holly's room and saw this scene.

The little girl quietly watching TV, peaceful like a doll.

"Have some fruit."

Leo placed a plate of sliced watermelon in front of Holly, speaking gently.

"Thank you, brother."

Holly looked up, smiling broadly; her eyes also seemed to smile, seemingly able to speak.

"Brother, you also have some."

Holly picked up a slice of watermelon and brought it to Leo's lips.

Leo stayed still, looking at Holly.

"Brother, don't you like it?"

The young girl's eyes instantly flashed with disappointment, gently biting her lower lip, then placing the watermelon back on the plate.

Her eyelashes were long, fluttering, making her look as if she'd suffered a great grievance.

"No, brother likes it."

Leo reached for the watermelon, stuffed it in his mouth; a faint smile appeared at his lips.

"Brother was wrong, Holly should eat too."

Leo picked another slice of watermelon, placing it in front of Holly, speaking softly to coax her.

The young girl is too cute; he really can't be stern with her, instead feels guilty for even raising his voice.

"Thank you, brother."

The girl's mood shifted quickly, she ate the watermelon, smiling foolishly at Leo, revealing two tiny fangs.

Soft and adorable, Leo suddenly felt his heart melt completely; she was too cute.

"Holly, don't you miss home?"

Leo asked, seeing Holly easily satisfied like a child.

The young girl is so soft and adorable, Leo was convinced she's harmless, just a little girl with amnesia.

Holly blinked, "Holly doesn't want to, doesn't want to be apart from brother."

She looked up at Leo with sincerity, full of childlike innocence.

Leo extended his hand, gently rubbing the young girl's head; she was so pure and cute, he thought he'd care for her for now.
