Chapter 87 - scene 86

**Scene 86: "The Journey of Labib Ghaith and Jim Jamar" – "Near the Vast Farm"**

*Jim Jamar and Labib continue their journey aboard their small bus…*

"Jim Jamar stopped the bus" and said:

Do you want to try?

Labib:

Try what?

Jim Jamar:

Driving the bus.

Labib:

No… I have never done that before, and I might cause a disaster.

Jim Jamar:

You have disappointed me, O leader.

"Labib Ghaith was surprised and felt happy because Jim had described him as the leader."

He said:

Do you really consider me the leader?

Jim Jamar:

Of course… there is no leader here other than you, O leader… but I am sad, for the leader lacks courage.

"The words of Jim Jamar ignited strength and enthusiasm in Labib's heart," so he said:

Move aside, come on.

Jim Jamar:

As you wish, O leader.

"Labib Ghaith drove the bus wildly, swerving and swerving like a snake."

Jim Jamar, frightened and terrified:

Are we going to die, O leader?

Shouldn't the leader sit down and let the driver take him wherever he wants? Don't you agree with me???

Labib, shouting:

I have lost control!

*The bus swerved and swerved, until the same farm we mentioned in the previous scene appeared before them. The bus entered it and ruined many of the crops.*

Jim Jamar:

Watch out! Step on the brakes! The braaaaaaaaaakes!

Labib:

Which one is it??

"Labib tried all the pedals until the bus finally stopped."

It was close to sunset, and the **Head Worker** and his assistant noticed what had happened.

The **Head Worker** took both Jim Jamar and Labib to the workers' house, and the following conversation took place:

Head Worker:

You have destroyed many crops…

I do not know how the **Farm Owner** will react.

*The assistant entered wearing a hat, his face dusty, his clothes worn and full of dirt… He entered asking permission from the Head Worker to leave. Labib and Jim did not have the chance to recognize him.*

Assistant:

I ask permission to leave, I have finished my work.

Head Worker:

You may leave.

Assistant:

Good night.

*When he was about to leave, the Head Worker stopped him and said:*

Wait… take this, it is your wage.

Assistant:

You gave me enough yesterday, no need for more.

Head Worker:

Did you not work today? Did you not get tired?

You worked yesterday, I gave you yesterday's wage.

You worked today, I give you today's wage as well.

I am not doing you a favor; it is your right, my son, your right.

Assistant:

Alright… now I will go. Good night.

*After the assistant left, the Head Worker spoke, saying:*

An employer must give the worker his wage immediately after completing his work…

Now tell me, who are you, and how did what happened happen??

*As they were about to speak and answer the Head Worker's questions, and before uttering a single letter… there was a knock on the door.*

The Head Worker opened the door…

"It was an elegant man in a formal suit and dark glasses."

Immediately, without introductions, he said:

You must come with me.

*(He meant Jim and Labib.)*

They went outside with him; he was one of the Farm Owner's men.

*In front of the door, they were surprised by a brand-new, shiny, dazzling, attractive black car, seemingly very expensive, parked before them.*

They looked at each other in astonishment…

Another man opened the door for them to get in; he was the driver.

The car drove off, and while they were riding without knowing where they were being taken, the man next to the driver noticed the cloth-wrapped bundle containing the Sword of Flame.

He said firmly:

What is that thing??

Jim Jamar:

It is a sword.

Man:

A sword… then you are criminals.

Labib:

Don't rush, don't rush… we work in the circus, and it is not a real sword despite its heavy weight…

Go ahead, take a look at it… it cannot even be drawn from its sheath… it is not real at all.

*After several attempts to draw the sword, the man gave up and said:*

I believe you.

The driver (referring to Jim Jamar):

It is clearly from the circus, don't you see that?… It is painted red.

"Jim Jamar was annoyed" and said to himself:

Painted??… I am painted??… Be patient, Jamar, be patient…

Let it pass, let it pass for them.

*Then Jim Jamar noticed Labib suppressing his laughter until tears were flowing down his cheeks, saying:*

Painted… red paint.

"Jim Jamar spoke in a voice barely audible," saying:

Patience, O Jamar, you whose heart burns with embers.

*Finally, they arrived at the Farm Owner's house — or rather, the Farm Owner's palace — and entered.*

"He received them" and said:

Please come in… welcome… you arrived exactly at dinner time.

He led them to the luxurious dining hall…

They sat at the table and felt great comfort.

He ordered the maid to bring dinner.

Farm Owner:

My guests are hungry… please bring the dinner, if you do not mind.

Maid:

I will do so, sir, and I do not mind.

*The maid brought two plates of dates with milk and water, and nothing else.*

Maid:

Please… do not be shy.

Farm Owner:

Thank you, thank you very much.

Maid:

You're welcome, it is my job, sir.

*The maid left… Labib and Jamar were astonished that dinner was only milk, dates, and water, nothing else. They looked at each other.*

Then they said to themselves:

What a miser…

*The Farm Owner noticed and knew what was going on in their minds.*

He said:

Prepare yourselves… tomorrow you will clean this entire palace and help with the farm work.

So eat every last date… I know what is going on in your minds…

The benefits of dates are countless… and it is preferable that a person eats them regularly…

It is also recommended that the number of dates be odd.

I want to ask you… what is the most delicious food you wish to eat??

*They began describing the tastiest and most delicious foods… and when they finished:*

The Farm Owner said:

One does not enjoy food nor feel its taste unless he has been hungry…

And one does not rest unless he has been tired…

And one does not feel happiness unless he eats from the work of his own hands and does good to others with what he has worked hard for and what is precious to him.

I gave you what I worked hard for…

These few dates are, in my view, more precious than this palace…

You must also get used to this food…

What you ruined of the crops is equal in value to a full year of work…

And you will not leave my farm until you repay your debt to me.

Jim and Labib (astonished):

A year??… A full year?

Farm Owner:

Exactly… one full year working from dawn until sunset, and your food will be dates.

Jim:

Can't you reduce the time or find another solution?… We did not intend it; it was an accident.

Labib:

Yes, we did not intend it… isn't there another solution, please?

Farm Owner:

You can repay your debt by working on my farm for only one day.

Jim and Labib together:

Thank you, thank you very much.

Farm Owner:

But…

Jim and Labib:

But????

Farm Owner:

You will work from dawn tomorrow instead of the Head Worker's assistant…

And you will not eat or drink anything until sunset…

Do you agree? And do you promise me that and will not break your word?

Labib:

We agree, and we promise to work without eating or drinking until sunset.

Jim Jamar:

Why didn't you consult me, Labib? Am I a piece of wood here?

Labib (to Jim):

A year or a day?

Jim:

A day, of course… what can I do after you have decided, O leader… one day is better than a year.

*Dawn broke, and work began. With the first crow of the rooster, they worked, cleaned, watered, fed the animals, and herded them, and also helped the other workers when needed.*

"But Jim Jamar noticed that he could not use his warrior power nor the power of his sword."

He said to himself in confusion:

That man has taken all my energy…

I cannot use the Power of the Earth Fighter…

He is not an ordinary man… could he be…

*While Jamar was collecting eggs, he encountered a hen about to lay eggs. He stared at it and stared.*

He said:

This hen is trying to lay eggs and cannot… is it sick???

Labib:

She will not lay eggs as long as you are watching her.

Jim Jamar:

Ah… so she is shy then.

*Later, one of the calves escaped, and it was difficult for the workers to catch it. They asked Jim and Labib to handle the task.*

Jim:

Look, Ghaith, how I will turn it into grilled veal.

*Jim forgot that he had lost his powers. When he approached the calf, the roles were reversed, and the calf began chasing Jim Jamar.*

They felt hunger and thirst, but there was no escape; if they ate or drank even one bite, they would spend a full year working on the farm.

*When evening came and the sun was about to set, they watched it at the peak of exhaustion, eagerly waiting for it to disappear behind the horizon.*

Jim Jamar and Labib Ghaith (happily):

Go down, go down, go down, go dowwwwwn…

It set, it set, it set… Haaaaaaaaay!

*At the moment the sun set, the same luxurious car stopped in front of them and took them to the Farm Owner's palace.*

He ordered a warm bath for them, then they headed to the dining hall.

Before sitting at the table, there was a water jug on it.

Labib picked up the jug and wanted to drink while standing.

The Farm Owner said to him:

Sit down… then take a deep breath, then exhale calmly…

After that, you may drink the water; you will gain nothing from it while standing.

*Then, exactly as happened yesterday, they sat at the table, and dinner was dates and milk… but for Jim and Labib, the dates tasted like grilled chicken, even more delicious this time.*

*Morning came, and the Farm Owner met Jim and Labib at the breakfast table, but this time breakfast was butter, honey, milk, sweets of the most delicious kind, and many things beyond description — a table that seemed from a dream world.*

*While Jim and Labib were astonished and happy, their mouths watering, ready to attack all those blessings…*

The Farm Owner spoke to them, saying:

All I wanted was to give you a simple lesson… and it seems you understood it.

*Then he gave them two envelopes containing money, while they did not know what was inside.*

He said:

Please take them.

Jim and Labib:

What is this???

Farm Owner:

It is your wage…

As for my crops, you had nothing to do with their damage…

What happened was a test for me and a destiny…

A person must be grateful for blessings, for they may vanish at any moment…

I also thank you, because you worked today instead of me.

They were very surprised and said:

Instead of you???

Farm Owner (smiling):

The Head Worker's assistant is the Farm Owner himself.

They were shocked and said:

Y-y-you…

Farm Owner:

I only eat from the wage that the Head Worker gives me…

As for the money and wealth my farms and factories generate…

They are all ongoing charity for my deceased father…

I do not consider them my right at all, for he sponsored me since I was young, and I am not of his lineage.

Labib Ghaith:

But… why do you help others and solve their problems secretly… without letting them know who you are?

Farm Owner:

I do not help others for their sake, but for my own…

Every good we do returns to us as goodness, health, and well-being…

I do it secretly and indirectly because I do not like to see looks of gratitude in the eyes of those I helped toward me…

I am merely a cause for the command of God to flow in solving some people's problems — and to Him be praise…

If I ever wrong someone, he will not be ashamed of me, thinking I favored him, nor lower his gaze and remain silent…

He will defend himself and his right…

I spare them embarrassment and preserve their dignity; that is my duty through which I seek goodness for myself…

I do not care about my image among people or what is said about me…

You cannot imagine my joy when I see happiness on someone's face that I was the cause of without him knowing…

Kindness and secret charity are among the greatest deeds any noble human should do…

If you wish to give charity to a poor person, do not let him see your face or know who you are…

If he meets you on the road, he will not lower his head.

Labib Ghaith… Jim Jamar, my friends… this is a secret between us, agreed?

Jim and Labib:

Agreed.

Farm Owner:

Your bus… the workers cleaned and repaired it.

You may continue your journey, and I have no objection if you wish to stay.

*They thanked him and went out toward their bus. Labib got in, but as Jim Jamar was about to get in, the Farm Owner called him, leaned toward his ear, and whispered something that made him surprised.*

"Jim Jamar got in, started the engine, and drove off," saying to himself:

I suspected that, and my expectation was correct.

*While the Farm Owner watched the bus moving away from his farm, he spoke to himself, saying:*

Ouzin… you gave me a new life and a different experience.

*What did he say?… Did he say (Ouzin)?… Does he know him?…

He must be one of the Fighters of the Unknown, and this must be what he whispered into Jim's ear.*

Dear viewers, if you have been paying attention during the previous episodes, you will surely know who the Farm Owner is and which fighter among the Fighters of the Unknown he is.

We will meet him again in future episodes, so do not forget him.

**Narrator:**

Kindness and secret charity are among the most important deeds any noble human should do…

We meet in the next episode. Farewell.
