Rio would have found it much easier to ignore these feelings if Archie had just stayed in the dressing room like he was supposed to. Yet he had hobbled all the way to the touchline on his crutches, just to wish him luck.
If he was vain, he might think that the kid was obsessed with him. However, Rio still lacked a lot of self-awareness regarding his own charisma thanks to his previously solitary outlook on his career.
He was working hard to tackle these leadership responsibilities, but that would take a long time to break apart his "lone wolf" mentality.
"Archie... Why did you fight the physio to come down here, if you don't mind me asking?"
Rio didn't know why, but this question came out of his mouth just as he was about to cross the white line. Perhaps it was his ego, or it could have been because he wanted to know if the Team Chemistry stat was actually real.
