Chapter 5 - Cultivation Began

I was almost done with my work when a maid came, staring at me while I painted his face. I had already seen her outside, but I ignored her and gave him some final touches before going outside.

I walked up to the maid who was carrying a bowl of medical soup. I took it from her hands and came back. She was still standing at the door, staring at his cute face after my makeup.

"Why are you still here? You can go now." I glanced at the maid with a dismissive tone.

"I… sorry," She quickly apologised, and before turning around and leaving.

I went back to him, placing the bowl at the table. While I stared at his cute face. A slight blush around his cheeks, with a lot of foundation covering his face. His spiky eyelashes, extra pinkish shades around his eyes, and a red lipstick on his lips for the final touch.

After a long heartfelt laugh, I got bored, while he was still sleeping like a pig. I sat beside him, remembering some past events, like when he was just five, I used to dress him up like a little sister. He would never disobey me. But now… he...

"Hey, why are you staring at me like that? Are you planning to take advantage of your helpless little brother?" Suddenly, a light, playful voice woke me up from the past memories. I glanced at his face, which was covered in makeup and barely controlled my laughter.

I took the bowl of medicine from the table and passed it to him. But he didn't take it. Instead, he pointed at his shoulder, showing his wound before saying, "Feed me."

His lips were curved slightly upward with an evil grin, but because of the heavy makeup on his face almost made me laugh at his expression.

"Now, open your mouth," I said, feeding him medicine while controlling my laugh. He obediently opened his mouth without making any extra move. He was enjoying his meal while I was controlling my laughter.

Once I was done feeding him, I picked up the bowl, ready to leave his room. I stood up and just as I turned to leave, he pulled my hand, the bowl fell from my hand, and a crisp sound rang in the room as the bowl shattered into tiny pieces.

"What do you want now?" I asked, staring right into his eyes. As my body was right above him, his hands were on my wrist.

"Why are you so angry? I just wanted to give you a small gift. Hehe…" He said with a childish laugh.

I didn't say anything, just stared at his eyes nonchalantly.

"See this, what I got for you," he said, taking out an old book, waving it in front of me. This book looked quite old; there was nothing written on its cover.

I snatched the book from his hand and sat beside him, looking into its contents right there. As I started to turn pages, my face turned more and more red with every page. After scrolling through a few pages, I closed the book and smashed it on his head with all my strength.

"Why are you reacting like that? Don't you want a legendary cultivation technique? I got it for you. Now, we can both cultivate it together." He said in an upset voice.

"Cultivate it yourself. Hmph… Do you take me for a fool?" I snorted at his words and was ready to leave, but was held back by him again.

"Hey, what kind of big sister are you? You can't even protect your cute little brother, and don't even want to cultivate?" His words stabbed directly into my chest. I almost lost all my strength. As my body fell on the bed, I lay on his legs staring at the roof blankly.

When he was a kid, I used to be his strong sister, whom he always looked up to, but now, I am just…

"Oye, why are you acting so hopeless? Are you not going to get me the throne you promised in the past?" As I was lying blankly, his colourful face appeared above my head.

"I am too weak to help you; get it yourself." I couldn't even make myself laugh at his funny face.

"Ji Lan…" He suddenly called my full name, with all seriousness.

I looked at his serious-looking, funny face and replied lazily, "Call me big sister."

"Ok, big sister." Saying this, he suddenly started pulling my cheeks.

I was still expressionless when he let go; my cheeks had already turned red. My eyes were slightly moist.

"See this, I am not joking this time." He showed me another book, which was much slimmer than the previous one. It's even had the title, just a single word, Moon.

I wasn't at all excited about it like before, but he shoved it in my face, "Read it."

I lay on his legs, slowly raising my hand to pick up the book before turning away a few pages. As I started reading it, I wondered if this was really a true cultivation technique or if he was just fooling me again.

The book was filled with a lot of paintings with some minor descriptions. So, it wasn't really that time-consuming.

I continued to read it half-heartedly. I don't know how much time had passed when I ended the reading. He was still looking at me with his clown face.

"Are you done reading?" He asked in a serious voice.

"Hm," I nodded.

"Then what are you waiting for? Start cultivating," he said, pulling me up from his legs.

I didn't want to quarrel with him. So, I just sat cross-legged and began cultivating. The blood Qi flowed through my veins. I was still stuck at the 6th stage of mortal rank for many years.

As I was sitting cross-legged, a voice came in my ears, "Relax your body and let me guide you."

In this world, letting someone else control your Qi is like giving away your body to someone else, or even worse. Even close friends and family don't let anyone mess with their Blood-Qi.

Hearing his words, I just followed whatever he said, giving him full control, letting the blood Qi flow according to his will. His slight mistake may cause my death. But I believe him. This trust wasn't random; it was always there, no matter what he did. He would never harm me…

He placed both of his hands gently on my back, and a warm current flowed through my body. I didn't know what was happening, but I could feel my body changing, my Blood Qi was becoming denser, it was just a matter of fact before I stepped into the 7th stage. It didn't end there; my cultivation was growing continuously. I don't know what he did, but I continued cultivating as my realm increased at tremendous speed.
