Sylvie watched Rei slurping onto his boba tea that he ordered, not even stopping in between to chew on the pearls. "Do you just gulp them down in one go or?" Syvlie asked, curious at him before Rei stopped sipping. "I drink for a bit then gather enough pearls to chew on it before swallowing like a chewing gum… why?"
"No reason." Sylvie grabbed her own before drinking her own, chewing the pearls when it arrived in her mouth. "So, any reason for the violence earlier?" She asked as Rei sighed from frustration, "Nothing. Just people shit talking behind your back all because you stayed with me."
Sylvie groaned in frustration, agreeing with him since people never changed and most of them are hypocrites. They only stopped bullying him as a blank but now bullied him for being too aggressive and having anger issues. "They are just stupid and jealous cause you got me with you."
She wasn't wrong since Sylvie is one of Sir Ellis Kadoorie High School strongest students and is the queen in the student royal campaign. "Really? Then they must be desperate to get a hit on you." Rei scoffed in which she rolled her eyes, annoyed but enjoyed their little banter.
"What do you wanna do after this?" Sylvie asked while Rei thought for a second before answering her, "I don't know… Maybe play league if you're up to it…" he went back drinking his boba tea to finish it.
....
Rei and Sylvie, gaming and lounging in a room that they rented not too far or expensive to their school since their stuff in the lockers are still at school especially with their bags just inside the locker. "Should we head back?" Rei asked after putting down the headset, the screen on the computer showing the victory signature on it.
"Yeah. Just let me do the rest while you wait. It's just our stuff that we need to get anyway." Sylvie said before turning off the computer after exiting the game and closing any tabs or applications in it. "Thanks for the carry, dear jungler ~ Looks like I'll own up to you by helping you study or any favours that you want." She said which made him snort before returning a tease back, "Well ~ My mid lane needs help so might as well do my best."
Sylvie laughed softly before hitting him on the shoulders, "Jeez, no need to rub that I'm terrible alright? I'm just doing my best when you carry me multiple times into master's elo. Just don't play too hard so I don't get dragged with that since I'm just a silver rank." She said before Rei just shrugged his shoulders in a teasing manner.
"Anyways. I think we should go now. I assume that you'll use your prowess to snatch our stuff quickly?" He asked as they both exited the room while Sylvie was stretching herself out. "Yeah. There's nothing important to grab anyways aside from our homework that could be sent by email if we are not in class anyways." Sylvie answered before walking ahead of him which Rei just took naturally and let the time prowess user to enjoy her self.
The two were on the way when they encountered trouble when a group of people appeared, the same trio who had been beaten up by Rei hours ago. Their bags however are in their possession for some reason being held by Jaycee. Rei knew their egos were crushed but the fact that they had some outside help said a lot of their loser mindset that he hated the most.
"Really? Our stuff? Is that everything that y'all wanna go low just to beat us up?" Sylvie asked before her eyes glowed a shade of blue, indicating that she activated her prowess while Rei followed suit as his red eyes glowed bright.
Rei knew that the two of them can beat them all since the passive ability of his prowess allowed him to read the power of someone's prowess. He could tell that the extra were just barely an elite-tier which was easy since he could also tell the prowess that they possess from years of training, hardwork and experience that Rei had polished throughout the day he gained his prowess.
Rei copied Jaycee's lightning prowess as his body started to emit lightning around him when the bulky male immediately tried to assault Sylvie but never stood a chance since he was immediately pushed far away from her. "Alright. Let's get it then." Sylvie said as an image of a clock and gears worked around her before speed blitzing through Phill and the extra who tried to do a follow up of the latter's attempted assault.
The two individuals immediately knocked out by her before Rei joined her by charging his lighting to conduct Jaycee's attack as he redirected it to Ben and the other extra who possessed some sort of enhancement. "Anti climatic…" Rei thought to himself as the only person who was left is Jaycee.
Jaycee gritted his teeth before trying to dash away but Rei caught up to him almost instantly as he launched a mean punch onto the guy's guts. "I warned you so many times and yet you're so f••king stupid to understand." He said with a venom before holding the tall guy on the shoulders as he delivered the final hit, charging a lighting to electrocute Jaycee upon landing a knee on his guts.
Rei and Sylvie deactivated their prowess as they immediately went to pick up their stuff on the ground. They were glad that the insides were not stolen if it weren't for technology and manufacturing of today that can allow them to set up a password on it. "Everything is here. I'm guessing we should head out for dinner at my place?" Rei said while Sylvie nodded her head. "Yeah. My mom and sister ain't home so I asked them if I could stay over at your place." She put on her bag with one strap over her shoulders while Rei did the same.
The two were about to leave when they immediately felt a powerful presence, the two immediately looking over to where the presence was coming from. A strawberry blonde female, walking down on the street with a black trench coat that made the two shudder as they both recognised the uniform and detail.
"That's a sorcerer right?" The both of them almost gulped nervously if the female sorceress would detain them from this.
[Professional Sorcerer]
[Name: ???]
[Occupation: Sorceress]
....
There was always a thing with everyone in Hong Kong when it comes to career. The most known professions were enforcers, architects and researches due to the extensive use of prowess and salary. However, there is only one profession that would put every career in shame since this one had been around during the dark ages when other professions were barely making a living due to conflicts.
Sorcerers. The rarest profession that anyone would choose due to its reputation and work environment. Going into the front lines to protect civilians and face against threats that could have their life taken away in every moment.
It was like a soldier but the benefits of being able to go back home during day offs or after work hours in contrast to soldiers who have to stay at the camp after their shift to take a quick break before heading off to relax or call it a day whenever it was possible.
The major difference between the two was the fact that sorcerers were more complex than army soldiers due to ranking system and training then the course of education they had finished from middle school to high school or college nor university at best.
....
It was a total surprise for the two Sir Ellis Kadoorie High School students to see a sorcerer or so sorceress to be in front of their faces especially after a fight that they had finished.
They were panicking if something like this would put them in tough spot since sorcerers are also known to be stricter than enforcers due to the like of job that they had to deal with.
"We are so cooked…" the two thought to themselves simultaneously, praying to whatever deity or god would save them from their current situation.
