Chapter 33 - First International Clash

The arena deck thrummed with energy.

Floating platforms swayed slightly over the ship's interior as fans and spectators from every country leaned forward, eyes glued to the action.

Riku adjusted his gauntlet, the blue-violet sparks along his forearm pulsing in rhythm with his Core.

Mira, calm and focused, checked the alignment of her Core crystals.

Bolt padded quietly, tail brushing the floor as tiny arcs of lightning flickered over him.

"Team C," Riku whispered.

"One by one. Let's not rush. We fight carefully, but decisively."

[Scene 1 – Introducing Japan Team 1]

The Japanese team stepped forward, their presence commanding. Three members:

Kaito Shimizu – Leader, raven-black hair, steel gauntlet, Core Beast: Tora – a giant tiger spirit with metallic stripes and crimson eyes, muscles rippling with raw speed. His aura crackled with precise, slicing energy.

Ayane Fujimoto – Agile support, silver ponytail, Core Beast: Kitsune – a fox spirit with nine tails of fire, nimble and tricky, capable of rapid, unpredictable attacks.

Haru Tanaka – Heavy defense, short spiky hair, Core Beast: Oni Bear – a hulking bear with obsidian armor-like fur, each swipe leaving shockwaves, capable of creating force barriers for teammates.

"So… Team C," Kaito said with a smirk.

"You've already caused a stir in Nepal and India. Let's see if you can keep up."

[Scene 2 – First Battle: Riku vs Kaito]

Riku stepped forward.

"I'll go first."

Bolt crouched low beside him, sparks flying in anticipation.

Kaito's Core glowed crimson as Tora materialized beside him, claws extended.

"My Tora… is faster than any human you've faced. Keep up if you can."

Riku's Core pulsed violently.

"Then I'll just have to push past my limits."

The two launched simultaneously.

Riku's lightning-blue Core energy intertwined with Kaito's crimson tiger aura. Platforms quaked as sparks flew.

"Bolt—Shadow Dash!" Riku shouted.

Bolt leapt forward, creating a mirrored strike that collided with Tora's pounce.

The arena shook. Sparks rained across the platforms as each Core Beast tried to outmaneuver the other.

"Interesting…" Kaito grinned.

"You're faster than I expected… but can you control that speed under pressure?"

Riku's heartbeat synced with the pulsing Core. Every nerve in his body screamed—he had to win, one-on-one, to protect his country and team pride.

[Scene 3 – Second Battle: Mira vs Ayane]

Mira's calm gaze met Ayane's mischievous smile. Kitsune appeared, tails flicking, fire licking the edges of its form.

"Ready?" Mira asked softly.

"Don't underestimate me," Ayane replied.

The two clashed—Mira's precise Core strikes slicing through Kitsune's flames, sparks flying as tails whipped around.

"Mirror Form—activate!" Mira whispered.

The Core energy mirrored Ayane's attacks, redirecting fire with grace and speed. Every movement was a dance of calculated offense and defense.

Spectators gasped as sparks illuminated the arena.

This wasn't just a fight… it was a test of strategy, reflex, and Core harmony.

[Scene 4 – Third Battle: Toma vs Haru]

Toma stepped forward, gauntlet glowing green.

"Let's keep this clean," he muttered.

Haru's Oni Bear roared, stomping the floating platforms. Shockwaves rippled outward.

Toma dodged nimbly, using his Core to manipulate green energy currents, countering Oni Bear's brute force.

"Formation Beta—link!" Toma shouted.

A tether of green energy connected him to Riku and Mira, allowing a subtle coordinated strike against the hulking beast.

Haru's eyes narrowed.

"Impressive… you fight as one. But can you sustain it?"

[Scene 5 – Team Tactics]

While the individual battles raged, Team C's synchronized aura pulsed like a single entity.

The logos on their gauntlets glowed brighter with each Core strike, resonating with their country's spirit.

Riku, glancing at Mira and Toma mid-battle, whispered:

"We've trained for this. Stick to the plan… one by one, win or lose, we show them who we are."

The floating platforms creaked, sparks flew from violent clashes, and the audience could barely keep up with the speed of attacks.

Every Core strike, every dodge, every roar of the beasts—echoed the pride of Nepal.
