Hey Everyone,
First of all: thank you. The response to the first six chapters has been insane.
I'm at a crossroads with a few big decisions and I actually want your input this time. No cop-out "whatever the author wants" answers; I'm genuinely torn on some of these, so hit me with your reasoning in the comments.
Romance / Female Lead situation
Right now the story is 100 % Daeron × Daenerys endgame. It's been planned that way since the moment Ethan made his wish in the void.
That said, a lot of readers have an idea for a second prominent female presence (political ally, confidante, rival-turned-something-more, etc.). I do NOT want a harem; that tone would break the story I'm telling. But I'm considering giving Margaery Tyrell a much larger role than she has right now.
So straight-up poll:
A) Keep Daenerys as the sole female lead, full monogamous endgame, no emotional competition.
B) Bring Margaery into a second female lead, like Daeron/Dany/Margery romantic endgame.
Euron Greyjoy – Book version or Show version?
Show-Euron is a horny Captain Jack Sparrow with a bad accent.
Book-Euron is an existential eldritch horror wearing a human skin suit, possibly the single scariest mortal in the series.
Which one do you want to see our boy face?
How should Daeron actually take the Iron Throne? (High-level ideas, no spoilers please if you think I haven't decided)
Classic Aegon the Conqueror reboot: three dragons (once Dany's hatch), field of fire 2.0, "bend the knee or burn."
Political masterpiece: turn half the realm to his side before he ever shows the dragon, win King's Landing with almost no bloodshed, "the throne by acclamation."
Chaos-is-a-runway: let the War of Five Kings burn itself out, let the Others come south, then fly in as the literal savior on the biggest dragon anyone has ever seen.
Something else you think would be more satisfying.
