In a huge hall lots of researchers were gathered, they all knew what they were here for but it seemed kind of unbelievable.
"You heard it to right, that teenage kid from earlier and the commander's daughter have figured out laser tech."
"I don't believe it one bit, I need to see this with my own eyes."
"I don't care about all of that, my concern is how close that Dexter guy seems to be getting to the commander's daughter."
Everyone just ignored the guy who made the last statement and focused at the end of the hall for when Dexter and Elizabeth would arrive.
Andrew was sitting at the far corner of the hall, he couldn't wait for Dexter to make a fool of himself and then step in to save him also taking the spotlight for himself.
Andrew of course hadn't been idle either, he had been researching a way to solve the energy problem and during one of his researches came up with a brilliant idea.
Patrick and the president just walked in at this moment.
"It looks like you guys are hosting a huge event." The president said.
"Yes we are about to reveal a new technological breakthrough." Patrick said with pride.
"It seems you guys are discovering more and more things, that's interesting."
Listening to what the president was saying about his facility couldn't help but puff out his chest in pride.
Soon Dexter and Elizabeth walked into the hall and they were not holding anything.
Andrew seeing this was even more elated.
"Lets see how you would embarrass yourself." Andrew thought with glee.
Dexter stepped forward to address the crowd.
"I am so sorry to inform you all that our project was destroyed, it was very difficult for us to rebuild it due to lack of materials, so therefore we were unable to build anything."
Dexter went on an continued to express his condolences for dragging them out here.
Andrew felt something was wrong and couldn't help but shout,
"But I saw you guys build something with my own eyes."
He wasn't lying after this, his assistant destroyed the earlier project, he kept on sending his assistant to check if he built anything and he always saw a half built device, he was sure that is what his assistant told him, that is why he was feeling quite unsettled when Dexter said they had not created anything.
"What does he want to do." Andrew thought.
Dexter heard what Andrew shouted and smiled.
"How do you know? Were you able to see we were building something, me and Elizabeth were the only ones there when we built it."
Everyone seemed to get at what Dexter was trying to say.
"Could it be that Andrew destroyed the project so that he could win the bet."
"No way I don't think Andrew was a person like that."
Patrick was sweating bullets as he heard the side remarks being said.
On another day he would have just smiled it off but now the president was sitting beside him and he didn't want to give of a bad impression.
Then he heard the president say something,
"This Dexter is quite something." The president said with a laugh.
"What do you mean?" Patrick asked.
"He made his earlier remark to unsettle that man." The president pointed at Andrew, "So that he could expose himself without even knowing how." The president explained.
Patrick heard that the president had good things to say about Dexter and breath a sigh of relief.
Dexter noticed that some people didn't believe that Andrew would do something like that.
So Dexter pulled out a remote and pressed a button, the giant tv behind Dexter and Elizabeth started to play.
In the video a dark figure entered a room and began to smash everything in it, everyone recognized the room as the lab that Dexter and Elizabeth were working on.
Later the video changed to outside the facility and they saw the same dark figure but this time without the mask.
The camera zoomed in and everyone could clearly see who it was.
"Isn't that Andrew's assistant?"
"I can't believe Andrew would do something like this and I used to look up to him once."
Everyone was left in disbelief as they watched the video to the end, they saw Mark talking to Andrew outside the facility and then the video ended.
Andrew was terribly pale, he just sat were he was looking blankly at the screen.
Patrick wasted no time and shouted, "Take him away!"
He didn't want the president to think worse of him for not acting swiftly in the situation.
Soon two strongmen walked and carried Andrew away.
As Andrew saw the men walking towards he immediately snapped out of it and started shouting like a made man.
"NO I'M INNOCENT! I WAS FRAMED!!!" But no one listened to him and he was taken away.
The president seeing that everything was over asked Patrick to take him to meet Dexter.
They made their way down the aisle towards Dexter on the stage.
Everyone recognized the man walking beside Patrick and we're shocked.
"Isn't that the president? What's he doing here?"
"Oh my God, the president visited our facility."
"He's going towards the stage, what do you think he's going to do?"
Everyone held their breath as they saw the president edge closer and closer to the stage.
Elizabeth had noticed him a long time ago and there was a look of shock on her face.
Dexter didn't keep up with politics so he didn't know who he was but from the look on Elizabeth's face he must have been a man of importance.
Soon the president was in front of Dexter on the stage, he put out his hand for a handshake as he said,
"Hello Dexter nice to meet you."
