Chapter 78 - Chapter 74: The Secret Scroll, The Ninja Goodbye, and The Clown in the Drain

[ Location: Konoha Sewers - Secret Root Base Entrance ][ Date: Day 5]

I stood in the shadows of the Naka Shrine, looking at the secret entrance my Clone's memories had revealed. The air was cold, damp, and smelled of old stone and secrets.

This was it.

'He thinks I have recipe of phoenix vial. Well, he's about to find out he's right.'

"System," I whispered, checking my internal clock. "Time remaining?"

[ Time Remaining: 4 Hours. ]

"Four hours," I muttered, cracking my knuckles. "Plenty of time for one last heist."

I wanted Fuinjutsu.

That's a fancy ninja word for "Sealing Arts."

'Think about it. Pennywise keeps coming back. Vecna is kinda immortal. The Demogorgon is just a big soldier. I can't just punch them forever. I need a way to put them in a box and lock the door. Forever.'

I took a deep breath.

'Okay, Vivan.'

I tapped my head with my wand.

'Magic: Disillusionment Charm.'

I felt like a raw egg cracking over my head.

A cold feeling washed over me, and suddenly, my skin took on the texture and color of the wall behind me.

I was invisible.

'Occlumency: Level 5.'

I imagined my mind was a blank piece of paper in a dark room.

No thoughts. No chakra signature. No noise.

Just silence.

I slipped into the dark tunnel.

It was creepy inside.

There were masks hanging on the walls like trophies.

The guards Root Anbu stood like statues.

They didn't move and barely breathed.

I walked right past one.

He didn't see me or hear me.

I kept my footsteps silent.

'So cool,'

I thought, biting my lip to stop a nervous giggle.

'I'm literally infiltrating the CIA of ninjas.'

I went deeper. Past the training rooms where kids were fighting in silence.

Past the cells.

Finally, I found the Archives.

It was a cavernous room filled with shelves and shelves of old scrolls.

'Okay. Where is the good stuff?'

I used my [ Memory Reading ] skill to scan the labels on the scrolls.

Wind Style: Great Breakthrough.

Earth Style: Mud Wall.

Yamanaka Secret Arts: Mind Disturbance.

I reached for the Wind scroll, then hesitated.

'Wait. Why am I choosing?'

"I'll take it all," I whispered.

I moved down the aisle.

I didn't steal the physical scrolls, that would trigger weight traps. instead, I opened them slightly with Telekinesis, scanned the contents with Memory Reading, and let the System record the data.

Scan. Record.

Next.

Scan. Record.

Next.

I swept through the shelves like a vacuum cleaner made of intellect.

"Mine, Mine, Also mine."

Then, I saw it. The prize.

On the very top shelf, covered in dust, sat a heavy scroll with a red swirl symbol on it.

[ Uzumaki Clan Sealing Techniques (Fragments). ]

"Jackpot," I whispered.

I opened it carefully with Telekinesis.

'System. Priority Scan.'

I looked at the ink drawings. They looked like complex math puzzles made of art.

Circles inside squares inside triangles.

[ Four Symbols Seal. ] (Used to trap big monsters/Tailed Beasts).

[ Five Elements Seal. ] (Used to mess up someone's energy flow).

[ Evil Sealing Method. ] (Sounds perfect for a clown).

[ Contract Seal. ] (To sever connections between summoner and beast).

It was like reading source code for reality.

"This is it," I grinned, sweat beading on my forehead as I memorized the complex patterns. "This is how I put Pennywise in a jar."

My Intelligence (55) worked like a camera, taking snapshots of every line and symbol.

"Got it," I said, closing the scroll gently. "Now, let's get out of here before the creepy eye-patch guy wakes up and realizes his security sucks."

[ Location: Konoha Gates ][ Time: 6:00 AM ]

The sun was just starting to come up over the Hokage Rock.

The sky was pink and orange.

Shikamaru was waiting by the giant wooden gates. He was leaning against a post, looking very sleepy.

"You're late," Shikamaru yawned as I walked up, dropping my invisibility.

"Had to pack," I lied, fixing my tie. "Buying souvenirs takes time and the gift shop was murder."

Shikamaru looked at me. He looked at my suit, which was somehow cleaner than when I arrived (thanks to magic cleaning).

He narrowed his eyes.

"You know," Shikamaru said quietly. "The Anbu are running around like crazy. They say a some enemy broke into a secret base last night and tripped a silent alarm but stole nothing."

He raised an eyebrow at me.

I blinked innocently. "Wow. That sounds... troublesome. Good thing I was asleep in my hotel room. I'm a heavy sleeper."

Shikamaru smirked. "Yeah. Asleep. Sure."

He handed me a paper. "Your exit pass and you're free to go, civilian."

"Thanks, Shika," I said, taking it. "For the lessons and the ramen. You're a good teacher."

"Don't mention it," he shrugged. "Just... don't die out there. Our worlds are very dangerous."

"I'll try," I promised.

I shook his hand.

I walked out of the gate.

I kept walking until the village was just a tiny dot behind me and the forest swallowed the path.

[ System Alert: Mission Complete! ][ Time Remaining: 1 Minute. ][ Initiating Transport... ]

I looked back one last time.

'I came here for a vacation and left with a magic sword, a demon flute, and the power to trap a god level creatures'

"Not bad for a week's work," I grinned.

The world twisted. The trees dissolved. The heavy, energetic air faded away.

[ Transporting to Earth-1985 (Hawkins). ]

The smell of pine trees vanished.

It was replaced by the smell of wet pavement and... garbage.

[ Location: Hawkins - Storm Drain (Near Vivan's House) ][ Date: April 23rd, 1985 - Tuesday Night (The exact second I left) ]

I stumbled.

My dress shoes hit wet concrete.

I was back.

It was dark. The streetlights flickered overhead.

And I wasn't alone.

A bright red balloon was floating in the storm drain right next to me.

Pop.

The balloon burst.

"Did you have a nice trip, Vivan?"

The voice came from the darkness of the sewer. It was high-pitched and scratchy.

Pennywise.

"You smell... different," the Clown giggled. "Stronger and Tastier. Where did you go?"

Two silver eyes glowed in the drain.

I reached into my pocket.

I pulled out a piece of paper and a black marker I had swiped from the hotel.

'Test time.'

I drew a quick symbol on the paper. A circle with a lightning bolt through it.

A basic Paralysis Seal.

I slapped the paper onto the metal grate of the drain.

"Seal!" I commanded, pushing a tiny bit of my energy into the ink.

Flash.

The paper glowed blue.

The symbol spread onto the metal bars like glowing vines.

A shock of blue lightning zapped down into the sewer darkness.

"OW!" Pennywise shrieked. "WHAT IS THAT?!"

The glowing eyes vanished instantly.

The presence scurried away deeper into the pipes, hissing in pain.

"I learned some new tricks, Bozo," I whispered, standing up. "Run along now."

I dusted off my hands.

I walked home, feeling the cool night air on my face.

'I have the Trap and now I just need the Bait.'
