Chapter 1 - The Memory in the heart

The world of Aurethion was vast enough to swallow empires whole, yet quiet enough that a single forgotten child could slip through its cracks.

Far in the eastern edge of Elydria, in a worn-out village that barely appeared on maps, an old man found that child. The old man was known simply as the Sage a healer to the villagers, a wanderer to travelers, and a mystery to everyone else. Few knew he carried centuries of secrets behind his gentle eyes.

One night, after a violent skirmish on the borderlands, he walked through a field littered with broken shields and silent bodies. There, between two fallen soldiers, he heard a sound a soft, stubborn cry. When he pushed aside the cloak covering the tiny form, he froze.

The child wasn't entirely human.

The Sage took him in without hesitation.

He raised the boy in the quiet village, teaching him to survive, to read the wind, to understand the heart of a blade. The boy grew quickly, stronger and sharper than the others his age. The Sage named him Morix.

Years slipped by like sand between fingers. The Sage passed, leaving Monix alone with his promise to become a man of honour, a man of duty, no matter the weight it carried.

By the time Morix reached adulthood, he was no longer the forgotten child of a battlefield. He was the General of Valarion, feared by enemies and respected by every soldier under the kingdom's banner. A warrior carved from discipline and solitude.

And that is where our story begins

on the day Morix was summoned to the royal court.

The King's message had been brief:

Prepare security for the engagement ceremony.

The Princess of Seraphyne will arrive soon.

Morix had seen many battles.

An engagement however felt like a different kind of war

The fate comes to everyone and this time it came to morix

Find out what awaits for morix in chapter 1 part 2
