Chapter 22 - Poseidon

The bullet left its barrel, swirling in the wind, and its trajectory is Gion, who has her whole focus on stopping Aramaki. The bullet got closer to its target, heat radiating to warm the host with death.

Gion felt her haki lines pull her to her rear-view vision, her body already exposed to certain death. The silent screams of her fellow Marines died in her ear; this would be her last sight.

"R-Ramos." She whispered.

Cling.

To her shock, the bullets never touched her, Sonya blocked it with her Jitte, the Vice-Admiral panting as she used a lot of her energy to reach Gion, "This level of haki is exhausting. " She huffed. Sonya had to use her Devil Fruit; despite the seawater affecting her usage, she powered through to save Gion.

"Thank you Sonya. "

"It's Smoker." She grinned, her eyes rolled to the back of her he ad, losing consciousness.

"Smoker!" Sonya yelled, hurrying to her peer.

Aramaki continued his mayhem,mer-folk all shrivelled up, coiled in his roots. The Vice-Admiral greedily devours their life spans.

"This is not nearly enough to sustain me." He smirked. His carnivorous roots wrapped around his men, too.

"Sir–aaahh." A poor Marine screamed as he felt his life be ripped from him.

"Damn it Aramaki –snap out of it!" Doll charged, fist aimed for Aramaki's tree head.

Boom!

The punch landed square on his face. Aramaki spat out blood, his eyes slightly going white, but he quickly regained function and coiled Doll in his carnivorous form.

"Ughh–let go..." Doll tried to thrash through the roots. She felt her body get weaker, unable to use her haki. She knew Aramaki was consuming her lifespan.

"You bastard!" Doll groaned, every movement just made the roots more greedy. It felt like her soul was being torn out of her body, bit by bit.

"A-ra-ma-kiii..." She grunted, her struggles stopped.

Gion and Sonya attacked him, futile efforts at stopping him.

"Don't worry Doll, your contribution will be well appreciated. " He promised, feeding more and more on her.

"Aramaki!" A familiar voice, called out.

Turning to the sound, they saw Ramos on top of a giant shark next to an even larger Mermaid.

-Shirahoshi-

"Ramos...are you sure this is wise?" Shirahoshi timidly asked him, clinging to Megalo.

Ramos turned to the Princess, "Shirahoshi, don't worry, I won't fail." He assured her." I won't let the beautiful Princess cry anymore." He flirtatiously said.

"What? Beautiful –me?!" Shirahoshi stammered, hands on her dimples, blush evident.

Ramos chuckled before using Gepoo to move up near the surface of the dome, right arm coated in haki. He focused his will into his fist. Advanced Haki was taxing, and with no experience, the user will lose they're life to their own power. Mimicking his master, he pulled his arm back, gathering as much force as he prepared to knock some sense into the Green fool.

Rogue.

The words left his mouth, a vibrant red mixed with black bloomed around his fist. His fist connected with Aramaki, embedding the logia user into the ground, and blood painted the surface as the Earth shattered under the blow. Fish-man Island shook at its force, citizens lost consciousness just from the tremors. As the debris cleared, Ramos stepped over Aramaki's battered body, his fellow marine, back to base form and barely breathing. "Why do you have to be like him?" He sighed, rubbing at his scarred hands, pink flesh dominated his hand, a reminder of his chosen path as a Marine.

Moving to Doll, he held her in a Princess carry.

"You good Doll?" He asked.

"I'm alive Ramos," Doll answered.

Their moment was interrupted by Henry Hornigold, pistol still in hand, aimed at them.

"You humans cause nothing but destruction; my people were killed by your heinous race." Henry barked. Shooting at Ramos, he dodged the bullets, without struggle.

Angered by this, Henry focused water around his hand, forming a water blade.

"Die!" He charged,

Ramos just watched him approaching, "Anytime now, Gion." He called.

Swoosh

Splash

Gion appeared, cutting the Orca vertically with her katana. A splatter of blood escaped from Henry's wounds, his eyes, and his movement faltered as his body dropped down with a loud thud.

Gion pointed her Katana's tip at his throat,

"Give up, or I'll end you." She demanded.

"Ha–what's stopping you from shedding more blood?" Henry chuckled in pain.

Looking around the area, the land was destroyed, the flora was dead, Fish-man was buried in rubble, and countless people were injured.

"This...wasn't supposed to happen. " Gion gritted, concealing her blade, she turned to Ramos.

He looked at the Mermaid princess; her face showed fear, and the slight tremble of her body made his skin crawl. " Shirahoshi–"

Stop.

Her voice travelled throughout the island, the plea felt ancient, the Island went cold as everything seemed to stop, and it happened.

Rumble... rumble...rumble..

The tremors they felt didn't feel like nature, but something waking from its slumber. Ramos felt his body screaming to him to run, the type of fear he hadn't felt since Ohara.

Doll looked at his scared state," Ramos...what's happening?" She asked him, hoping the tremors were just a figment of her imagination.

"Everyone, stay calm."

As he said the a huge shadow loomed over them, completely consuming all light, forcing their bodies to turn to the cause, they all froze, breaths gone as in front of them was no mere Sea King, this was a Kaiju, a monster that could level mountain tops, not even Giants would face this type of monster.

A sea king larger than the whole island looked at them; the sentinel bore its judgment upon them, eye larger than the vessel they arrived in.

"Poseidon?"

A thunderous voice echoed in their minds; this type of speech was beyond their time.

"Great," Ramos muttered.
