Chapter 18 - Chapter 18 — “After the Hunt”

Scene 1 — The Silent City

The city lies in a surreal quiet. Streets are empty, lights flickering weakly. The shadows of the previous chaos linger like a heavy fog, though no living creature moves.

Civilians evacuated earlier whisper rumors, trying to piece together what they saw—or think they saw. "It was… like the city itself was alive," one murmurs. "And the boy… he was everywhere, nowhere at once."

No one knows. No one will.

Scene 2 — Kylori's Calm

Kylori Meykami Genesis walks slowly down a cracked street, shadows following and folding back into him like obedient servants. His smile—just a faint curve—is visible only when caught in rare angles of streetlight. His eyes glow briefly white, reflecting the horrors of the hunt.

He surveys the aftermath with detached curiosity, noting subtle anomalies: a lingering tremor in a building, the faint pulse of remaining eldritch energies, an echo of fear still trapped in the air.

> "So many… yet so predictable," he murmurs, almost to himself.

---

Scene 3 — A New Interest

In the distance, something stirs. A massive, anchor-like entity had remained hidden, observing the hunt. Unlike the petty creatures that scattered, it did not flee. Its form—fluid, jagged, and impossibly vast—shimmers with an aura that hints at immense intelligence and power.

Kylori stops. Head tilts slightly. Eyes widen—just a fraction. The faintest smirk spreads across his face.

> "Ah… now this is more like it."

The shadows around him pulse faster. The air tightens. Even his controlled creatures stir, sensing the magnitude of what has caught their master's attention.

Scene 4 — Preparing the Stage

Kylori doesn't rush. He allows the entity to observe him, studying its reactions, understanding its weaknesses. Around him, shadows coil into shapes that hint at power beyond comprehension—Aetherial Wraiths, Soulbound Horrors, and Devourer Shades aligning subtly as a prelude to action.

He whispers, calm and unnerving:

> "You've hidden well… but nothing escapes the doorway."

The anchor entity quivers—not from fear, but interest. For the first time in centuries, something alive dares to measure itself against Kylori.

Scene 5 — The Calm Before

Evening descends, shadows stretching unnaturally across the city. The remnants of the hunt dissolve back into the streets and forests, leaving only whispers of what occurred.

Akira, safe somewhere beyond the school, has no idea what's about to unfold.

Kylori, however, watches. The air hums with anticipation. The next hunt will not be petty. This anchor entity is a challenge unlike any he's faced—and for the first time, curiosity sharpens his smile.

> "Show me… how far you've survived," he murmurs, voice calm but electric with danger.

"Let's see what you're worth."

The stage is set. The city waits—though it does not know it.
