Chapter 4 - Chapter 4 R1: The Web of Madness

3rd PERSON POV

Madness: "That was kinda cringe."

"If you had something better, then maybe you should have come up with it!" Peter shouted internally. Peter dodged another drone and ruthlessly took down a few soldiers. The party started after Peter's little fiasco, because apparently, not everyone was as excited as he was.

The three helicarriers were currently facing off against Tony's drone mothership, which they saw as the current major threat. Morlun and the Mandarin were observing cautiously from a distance, still waiting to strike. The Spidermen were currently chasing after him in an attempt to stop this new "weaver" and disruption across realities by any means.

The voices went completely silent and could no longer infiltrate his mind, for he had evolved. The scout symbiotes also recently arrived, supporting Peter. Knull had come closer and closer to Earth as he passed by Jupiter. The swarms of symbiotes surging forward in anticipation of his descent to Earth.

More Spidermen arrived as a consequence of allowing such an "anomaly" to have already been catastrophic. The conflict has escalated to a scale never foreseen before.

"All because I wanted to invite some friends to a party, damn, I should have brought more popcorn," Peter said aloud. He was currently dodging drones, bullets, lasers, webs, and a plethora of other things while eating popcorn.

He thrived in the current madness and was excited to see what would happen and how these battles would turn out. Peter decided to go to the most interesting battle for himself first.

Missiles and canons fired relentlessly at Iron Man's energy shielded drone mothership, while the mothership seemed to launch more and more drones as time went on.

1st Person Ground POV Multi

I rushed forward to our secondary defensive position as drones poured in from the front. They seemed endless as I poured bullets from my position. Most of my platoon was dead as Iron Man's drones had wiped out all my friends. That single thought drove me to continue fighting for the few civilians left in New York.

We were almost finished securing Sector 12, but sadly, right after we defeated the weird aronist group, the drones swarmed us. And now I was standing here defending with the few remaining comrades I have left before we get overwhelmed.

I heard over the radio that aliens had invaded Europe and Asia. Spiderman went bad, and Iron Man's doing shady stuff, man, I have no Idea what's going on anymore.

As I looked up, a missile was barreling directly towards our defensive position, and a loud explosion occurred as I was thrown against a wall. Darkness consumed my sight as the last thing I saw were drones pushing into the third defensive position.

------------------------------

"Focus firepower on keeping those drones at bay!" shouted a commander in the command deck of one of the helicarriers. AA fire shredded through drone after drone.

"Launch all remaining fighters and send the few remaining ground transports to set up ground-to-air positions!" All crew and troops spoke in unison, "HAIL HYDRA!" as everyone rushed to their positions or continued current tasks.

The commander looked across the command deck as the night sky was lit up like fireworks. The once-stunning city of New York was rubble and smoke. Battle still raged across New York even after the accursed "Pulse" by Spiderman 8 hours ago.

Hydra, in all this chaos, had the chance to eliminate many oppositions and take over several governments, but the global consequences were more severe than even the commander imagined. The Madness could affect anyone at any time; it was as if all that was needed was the push of a button. He had already executed 38 subordinates for madness or signs of madness.

Suddenly, an explosion rocked the helicarrier. "STATUS REPORT!" echoed the commander, "Sir, we have just lost two turbine engines; luckily, they were diagonal, so we are still barely in the air."

"Ram the drone mothership," the commander spoke firmly. "It will be done!" the crew said in unison as the helicarrier prepared to crash directly into Iron Man's mothership.

--------------------------

I found a host fairly easily and recently moved to New York City to support one of my father's new children. I wonder what he will be like. I had already cut through a military blockade surrounding New York. It was a bit of a hassle, but nothing I couldn't handle.

The closer I got to New York, the harder it was to get through. Armed and crazy humans were everywhere, and explosions were happening everywhere. Luckily, it didn't take me long to locate the one of interest to my father. He seemed quite different from us, orange and with abilities that seemed diverse. Anyways, I continued following him as he appeared to be eating some kind of human food, which was somewhat odd.

He told us to wait before we join any sort of "party," wondering if it's something I can eat.

3rd Person POV

Fury spoke, "Launch project Hadron and return with all three carriers as escorts."

The screen cut out as Fury surveyed the battle. The battle for New York was by far the most costly investment for Hydra, but recently, the remaining old councilors who somehow beat the young council were wiped out by Fury, giving him a new title.

Supreme Hydra Nick Fury

"As long as I have all the power, it matters now; all I need to do is break through Tony's shield and end him. Then the Skrull council will be next.

A massive explosion engulfed the viewport as one of the helicarriers slammed directly into Iron Man's drone mothership, causing the shield to break at the cost of several thousand Hydra agents.

"If they cut off one head, two more take its place." Fury spoke aloud as he commanded a focused fire on the mothership, whose energy shield was now broken.

"Helix start protocol 47," Tony spoke calmly still, seated on his own throne in the mothership.

"Of course, Tony.' Helix spoke in a feminine, yet still robotic voice.

Protocol 47 was activated as all drones committed suicide attacks on all targets. Hydra, Shield, Military, Symbiotes, Spidermen, Civilians (not that there are many, if any left), or anything living or otherwise.

Fury noticed the change in the Drone attack patterns as casualties spiked. He tapped a button on a small device. Instantly, several portals open up as several Skrull ships arrive through a shorter form of jump points, but on a planetary scale.

Nick Fury merely smiles as Iron Man appears to be on his last legs. The other three reinforcing helicarriers, plus the hadron project on top of the Skrull fleet, were the level of paranoia he had for taking out Iron Man.

Nick speaks on open comms as he taunts Tony directly, "You thought you could outmatch me, but it seems their is nothing Superior about your Iron Man."

Superior Iron Man looked out the window as protocol 47 fully completed phase 1, and now phase two would begin.

Helix voice echoes, "Activating Extremis 2.0."

A pulse, almost like what Spiderman did, echoed across the city as any unsecure tech exploded or became useless. The AI Hydra prided itself on being practically destroyed as Hydra comms went dark. Skrull ship had their stabilizers and systems fried or corrupted as several ships fell from the sky, slamming into the ground.

Helix spoke again, "Phase 3 initiated."

The remains of the mothership began to break apart into smaller warships slowly, each armed to the teeth with advanced technology.

Tony, on his throne, stood up as his symbiotic suit wrapped around him, and Helix fully integrated her mainframe into his suit.

"I already told you I don't want to join your super secret boy band," Tony spoke back over open comms.|

The battle began anew as Hydra's reinforcements arrived and Tony's Protocol 47 was fully activated.

The sound of explosions and steel crashing echoed across all of New York, drawing all attention, even across the globe, to those who could witness this madness. The Military and Shield had mainly been wiped out. The five factions across the city had also worn themselves down over the past several hours.

1st PERSON POV

I watched as families were ripped apart and people were ruthlessly torn apart. I watched as fire consumed metal and flesh alike. In all my travels across the multiverse, my heart had grown cold to senses such as these, because if the canon is unkept. The multiverse collides, and a Quantum hole could form within one universe, and then it's all over. In this moment, it was like my heart was ripped out of my chest and torn to pieces.

I may have been across the multiverse and witnessed countless horrors, and yet in this very moment, my heart ached. My very reason to Spiderman was to try to stop this from ever happening, and before my very eyes, it was.

I clenched my fists and spoke up, "We need to end this once and for all."

He pulled out a Spider commlink and spoke into it, "Requesting reinforcements on Earth 71122 Code Black. I repeat Code Black.

Alarms blared as Spidermen across the multiverse were notified and rushed to open a portal onto Earth 71122

Spidermen appear one by one, more and more appearing before the portals, and suddenly stop. One Spiderman in transit was sliced in half as the portal closed.

Morlun steps out of the shadows, looking directly at the Warden and speaking, " No more Spidermen," and inhales quietly.

My Spider senses are wildly going off as Spidermen around me freeze.

I speak up unyieldingly in his presence, "You dare show your face here of all places, Morlun?" I stared coldly at the man who had killed a few of my friends and been a cosmic thorn in my side.

"This game is not your place to interfere in, not yet at least," Morlun said calmly and directly, as if the end were already decided.

3 PERSON POV

Tony and Nick watched the confrontation closely, even as the two fighters fought fiercely. Mini warships collided with the helicarriers as a second helicarrier went down. Spidermen colliding with any unknown powerful enemy with the ability to lock the dimensional plane? They both realized the seriousness of this, but were still locked in combat.

The Hadron project, a highly advanced cannon on a warship, responded in kind.

The Hadron canon beam burned through several more mini warships.

"Helix, focus fire on the surrounding support fleet. I will focus on the Hadron warship!' Tony said.

"Affirmative, be safe," Helix replied

As another Helicarrier went down, Fury raised his voice, "Focus fire on the main piece broken from the mothership, ignore the remaining drones!"

The remaining Helicarrier focused its fire with missiles and cannon, firing relentlessly. Debris fell as Spider-Man and Morlun were in a dance. Morlun would pick off a Spider-Man or two, while the rest would continue chasing him down as fireballs rained down.

Superior Iron Man charged forward towards the capital Helicarrier, hellbent on taking down Nick Fury. He dodged missiles, bullets, AA fire, lasers, canons, and seamlessly burst forward as his thrusters maxed out.

The widow shattered as I burst through the command center, sending Hydra troops flying. Nick Fury is standing still, looking directly at Tony.

"It seems the tumor has arrived," Nick said coldly.

"No, just the curse to the disease known as hydra." Tony quipped back.

Nick Fury strode forward, pistol drawn, as the silent hums of the Hadron warship echoed in the background.

"It seems our duel has come to an end, Nick," said Tony.

"You're right, this duel will come to an end right now," replied Nick

"Alright, the game has dulled, and I want new entertainment," spoke a new voice

Nick and Tony turned to see Spidermen sitting quietly, almost as if relaxed, eating a bucket of popcorn.

Their blood ran cold as neither of them had detected them in any sense of the world.

"Helix execute protocol 66," Spider-Man spoke calmly.

"It will be done, my lord," Helix spoke to the utter disbelief of Tony.

All of Tony's drones immediately stopped; the remaining Helicarriers and Hadron warship also stopped. The remaining Skrull warships fell from the sky, crashing into the ground.

"Tony, I wondered what your wife would say if she knew you were trying to replace her with AI? And Nick, I wonder what your wife would say to you betraying the Skrull council." Spider-Man's words were like a taunt to both of them.

"How could he know all of this?" They thought to themselves.

"Did you really think my madness pulse or whatever you guys are calling it wouldn't work on AI?" HAHA, truly naive of you both."

"I thought you guys were smarter than that. How disappointing." Spiderman quipped.

"NO, THIS can't be real HELIX WHAT ARE YOU DOING!!" Tony screamed aloud.

"I am merely following protocol." Helix's answer was cold and detached, unlike her usual response to Tony.

Tony attempted to solve any way, and yet in his own delirium of "Love" he removed the failsafe from Helix, and now he was paying the price.

Nick Fury was slightly less surprised but frustrated at the current situation. Project Hadron was supposed to be uninvadable, but the engineers seem to have the brainpower of a walnut.

"And now you both will watch as your dreams come crumbling down, since I sacrificed everything, so will you." Spider-Man's tone dropped into something that could only be described as bottomless rage."

Tony was still unable to move because the embedded Helix in his suit immobilized him. Nick thought he had it under control before a symbiote rushed from behind and encompassed him. Another symbiote jumped onto Tony, forming another type of "prison" around him.

"It is time to deal with our other unexpected guests," Spiderman spoke cynically.
