Chapter 47 - Chapter 49

What she said wasn't wrong. In fact, it didn't just contain rumors—it also mixed in outright fabricated "facts."

However, true wise men were always a minority, while most people were fools.

Thanks to the U.S. government's efforts, harmony was "restored" to the world. Everything was the terrorists' fault. The fallen soldiers were killed by terrorists, the dead generals were killed by terrorists.

The soldiers and generals bore no fault whatsoever. All the blame rested on the terrorists.

Everything… No, everything was the terrorists' fault!

All in all, there were too many things to pin on them, and nobody cared about the truth.

Lu Yi had been watching the situation unfold. He truly admired the U.S. government's ability to twist a narrative.

He silently gave them a thumbs-up in his heart, then returned to the construction of the device he was designing.

When Lu Yi received Superman's powers, he also inherited a portion of Superman's memories. While these memories didn't contain Krypton's most advanced technologies, they did include the manufacturing methods for Superman's equipment.

Lu Yi planned to use these memories to create his own suit—one that combined both technology and magic, allowing them to coexist, support each other, and counter both technological and magical threats at the same time.

With the help of magic, Lu Yi had already completed 80% of the suit. The materials were prepared and cut to match his body perfectly.

If one didn't consider magic, the suit was already flawless—no different from Superman's uniform.

Of course, the "uniform" in question wasn't the underwear-on-the-outside version. It referred to Superman's suit from Man of Steel.

Lu Yi had always thought the underwear-outside look was ridiculous. The real Superman suit was the one in Man of Steel.

Seriously—who puts their underwear on the outside?

When he learned how to produce the suit, he wondered whether he should make one himself, but the conditions back then hadn't been sufficient.

Kryptonian technology was far beyond Earth's. No earthly tech could create the materials needed for such a suit.

But things had changed. Lu Yi now had powerful magic to assist him, meaning he could not only create the suit—he could even craft something stronger, like General Zod's powered armor.

Yes, even the power armor worn by Zod and his soldiers was theoretically possible.

Unfortunately, Superman only remembered part of the armor's schematics. He had no knowledge of the internal power systems. So even if Lu Yi forged it, it would just be a bulky, hollow shell.

For now, he had no other choice but to create a Man of Steel-style suit as his personal equipment.

"Master, the device is already 80% complete. I checked everything—no issues at all. It fully meets your requirements!" Yuriko said as she stood beside the apparatus. She was now acting as Lu Yi's assistant, helping him assemble the suit—something she had personally requested.

She loved participating in anything Lu Yi did. Every time she helped him, she felt a special kind of happiness.

This was probably related to what Lu Yi had originally implanted in her mind—making her feel that loving Lu Yi wholeheartedly was the best thing she could do, her purpose, her everything.

"If that's the case, then it's fine for now… though it's truly a pity."

"A pity?" Yuriko asked, puzzled.

The construction had gone smoothly. She didn't understand why Lu Yi sounded disappointed.

"You don't understand magic, so you don't know. The material itself is excellent, but its ability to channel magic is poor. Its magical development is lacking. The engraving of the runes and arrays is… mediocre at best."

Mediocrity was never something Lu Yi pursued. He pursued perfection. But even the best chef couldn't cook without rice. For now, this was the only option.

"If you need other materials, just tell me. I can go get them!"

"Those materials don't exist on the market. They're only found in… certain special places."

"I can go!" she insisted.

Lu Yi smiled. "I know what you mean, but you can't go to those places. Even I can't—not yet. Be patient. Someday, I'll take you there."

"Mm!"

"Alright. Time for the final step."

Yuriko quickly stepped back, afraid she might somehow disrupt him.

In truth, Lu Yi wasn't worried about her interfering—she couldn't—but stepping back was still the safer choice.

Without Lu Yi moving a finger, the nearly completed suit floated up slowly and expanded, as though an invisible person were wearing it.

Standing before the suit, Lu Yi began engraving the runes and magic arrays.

Fiery red flames surged from the bottom of the suit. Mist-like fire spread over its surface, instantly turning it crimson. The transformation was so fast it seemed sudden and shocking.

How long did it last? When the flames reached the collar, the red suit cooled instantly within a single second, returning to its original appearance as though nothing had happened.

This cycle repeated nine times. After the ninth time, the suit began to show signs of deformation, forcing Lu Yi to stop.

After all, this wasn't magic metal. This was the limit of what it could endure.

Once the runes and arrays were finished, Lu Yi extended his hand and made a small gesture. A flash of light erupted, and the suspended suit vanished—instantly appearing on Lu Yi's body.

The first magic array—Master-Level Identification Matrix—was a success!
