Looking around the half broken room, you could see items and furniture meant for babies. After a few minutes, a groan echoed throughout the room.
'Ow. Where are we?'
Arthur looked over at Emilia as she stood up to look around the room.
'Seems to be some abandoned room.'
Emilia looked around at the room full of debris and broken furniture.
'But how did we get here though? We were just in your living room. Did we get kidnapped?'
Arthur thought for some time.
'I don't think so. Unless we were out for days. Because this doesn't look like our neighborhood or even our city. This doesn't even look like the same century as us. This room feels like its from the 20th century.
Emilia looked around again.
'Yeah your right. it doesn't look like our average room. If so, then WHERE IN THE HELL ARE WE??'
Arthur frowned.
'We should calm down. We need to find the others first. They might be in the house.'
Suddenly, wailing could be heard echoing throughout the house. They both look at the door beside them with pale faces.
Emilia looked over at Arthur.
'W-what was that?'
Arthur had a confused and frightened expression.
'I also don't know. It seemed close to us though.'
Light footsteps came from close to the room. They both looked out the room and saw a shadow approaching them.
Arthur pulled Emilia by her hand and ran over to the nearby bed.
'We need to hide. Whoever that is, is definitely not a normal woman.'
They crawled under the bed and stared at the doorway. After a few seconds, a woman with long hair and pale face entered the room. Her entire body looked dead. A wound can be seen on her neck. It looked as if it was from a knife. The woman walked over to the crib in the room and stood there. After standing there for some time, she took the doll that was in the crib and cradled it while wailing. Her wailing could be heard echoing in the house. Emilia and Arthur didn't there make a sound or a move. After what felt like ours of waiting, the woman took the doll and left the room.
The both of them didn't dare come out yet. In case, the woman decided to come back.
Emilia whispered to him.
'What do we do now?'
Arthur looked over at her.
'I don't know, but we can't stay here. The woman seems to have gone away. They both crawled out from under the bed. Arthur went to take a peek at the doorway to see if the woman is there. After confirming that she wasn't, He walked out of the room. There was a long hallway leading to stairs that went downstairs. The hallway was dark and looked almost abandoned. The walls had a layer of dust covered on it, the ceiling had multiple cobwebs and the floor had debris and dirt on them. Emilia followed behind Arthur trying not to fall behind. They slowly approached the stairs when they heard faint voices coming from inside the room beside them. Arthur and Emilia stepped back in fear, but Arthur decided to approach the door and slowly turned the doorknob to open the door.
After the door slowly opened, two shadows could be seen on the ground because of the moonlight shining through the window. It was Evan and Eva. They were both backed up on the wall in fear.
Their faces turned from frightened to relieved when they saw Arthur.
'Arthur?'
After hearing the familiar voices of the twins, Emilia slowly walked towards the doorway. After seeing the twins, she sighed in relieve.
'Thank god you guys are okay.'
Arthur and Emilia walked into the room and closed the door behind them slowly trying not to make sound. They sat down on the floor and began talking softly. Arthur started talking.
'Did you guys see the weird woman?'
Evan and Eva shook their heads.
'No we didn't. But we did hear her though. We also heard footsteps going downstairs. Which probably means she's downstairs right now.'
Arthur thought for a while.
'We still need to find Elias and Elena and then escape.'
They all nodded in agreement.
Emilia spoke up too.
'Yeah, but how do we avoid the weird woman. We already walked through basically the entire second floor. There's no way their on this floor. Which means they are downstairs with that woman.'
Arthur thought for a while and stood up.
'Even if we can't avoid the woman, we need to find them. The house doesn't seem that big. So they shouldn't be hard to find. And I doubt the doors are locked. Since this house seems abandoned.
They nodded and stood up too. They went towards the door and slowly opened it. Remembering to check the hallway to see if the woman is there. After confirming she wasn't, they all exited the room and began walking towards the stairs. As they were about to climb down the stairs, footsteps started getting closer. They all backed away in fear. Two figures suddenly appeared running up the stairs. It was Elias and Elena.
The both of them screamed out to them.
'RUN! She's coming!!'
They all started turning back and running towards one of the rooms. After they all entered, Arthur closed the door and locked it. They all backed away from the door. A moment of silence spread across the house until loud banging started happening outside. The woman was searching for them in the rooms. The banging started getting closer. They all started panicking about what to do.
Arthur spoke up to calm them down.
'Quickly! We need to hide. There is some closets and a bed.'
Without a second thought they bolted trying to find places to hide. Arthur and Emilia hid inside a tight closet, barely enough to fit two people. Elias and the twins hid under the huge bed. And Elena hid inside a huge chest in the corner of the room. The woman was already banging on the door across their room. A few moments later, The banging stopped again. It was all silent for some time until the woman started banging on their door. All of them held their breathes in fear. After a lot of banging, the door succumbed to the banging and sprung open. The woman rushed into the room knocking over multiple furniture and items. She frantically searched around for them but failed to do so. After some searching, the woman finally left the room and started to bang on other doors.
They waited for some time to confirm the woman left. The closet Arthur and Emilia was hiding in was small. It could barely fit both of them. Their bodies were touching each other. They could feel each other's breaths. They could hear each other's heartbeats. Their heart beat was beating quickly. Both because of fear and because of how they were so close to each other. After a while, they all left their hiding spots.
Arthur spoke out softly to not attract the attention of the woman.
'We need to go downstairs while the woman is still searching for us.'
They hesitated but agreed in the end.
They slowly walked out the room, not making any sound. and slowly went down the stairs. The first floor also felt abandoned. Everything was broken, and there was dust and dirt everywhere. They walked around trying to find the exit. But then, Elias accidentally slipped on a box on the ground. The sound of falling echoed throughout the house. His sprained his foot because of that. When suddenly, loud footsteps could be heard upstairs running down. They started to run but it was too late. The woman already saw them. The woman sped up and started chasing after them. They ran through many rooms, including the kitchen, the living room, and the dining room. They ran for awhile but Elias was falling behind. They saw a faint light coming through the spot in front of them in the distance. It was the exit. They started going faster trying to get there. But then, Elias fell.
He couldn't hold on anymore. The sprained ankle hurts too much. Elena tried to go back for him but it was too late.
The woman grabbed onto Elias. Her hands tightening on Elias not letting him go. Her nails sunk into his skin making him bleed out. Elena tried going back but was pulled back by Evan and Eva.
Elias screamed out in pain while being pulled back. The woman slowly pulled him away from the group, not letting him escape.
