Chapter 2 - Chapter 2 – My First Lottery… Did I Just Become an Honorary Uchiha?

From Kakashi's point of view, even though ninja with Kekkei Genkai were undeniably stronger than ordinary shinobi, it wasn't as if regular ninja couldn't compete at all.

The Third Hokage, hailed as the strongest Hokage, didn't have a Kekkei Genkai and still shook the entire ninja world. His own teacher, the Fourth Hokage, was born a civilian and still earned the legendary title of the Yellow Flash.

Among the four Hokage so far, only the First had Wood Release as a Kekkei Genkai. Even the Second, who was also from the Senju clan, didn't have one, yet he was still a powerhouse feared across nations.

So at his core, Kakashi never believed a shinobi needed a Kekkei Genkai to be great.

Meanwhile, elsewhere in the Leaf, inside an ordinary home, a boy who looked fifteen or sixteen sat wearing a standard Konoha chunin vest. He had short hair, a clean face, and right now his expression was bright with excitement.

He had just finished writing his tenth diary entry.

Which meant it was time for the lottery.

Yes, this boy was Bei Yuan Feng, a modern soul from Earth.

One morning he woke up and found himself in this insanely dangerous world… as an extremely ordinary genin.

How ordinary? Ordinary enough to have no Kekkei Genkai, and his family wasn't anything like the Sarutobi clan, who had no bloodline abilities but still had a deep and ancient heritage.

Both his parents were regular people. His father had been a run-of-the-mill chunin who died on a mission years ago, leaving him alone with his mother, Bei Yuan Fangzi.

As for talent, he was only slightly better than a normal person. That got him into the academy, and three years after graduating, he had become a chunin. A very average one.

No Kekkei Genkai, no special gifts. His plan had always been simple: keep his head down, avoid the major events he knew were coming, and hopefully live a few years longer.

It wasn't that he lacked ambition. This was simply reality in a world where ninja constantly died young.

Even if you had a Kekkei Genkai, so what? Unless you were literally the reincarnation of the Sage of Six Paths' son, you'd end up like Neji Hyuga.

The child of a savior is still a savior.

The child of a sacrificial pawn is still a sacrificial pawn.

But everything changed ten days ago. He received a diary system. As long as he wrote in it every day for ten straight days, he could draw one lottery prize.

Today was his first draw.

No wonder he could barely contain the excitement. If there was any chance he could change his doomed future, it would be because of this diary system.

"Start the lottery."

Bei Yuan Feng whispered the command in his heart. A translucent wheel appeared in front of him, visible only to him. The rewards displayed made his eyes widen.

Wood Release. Byakugan. Sharingan. Sealing techniques. Fire Release: Great Fireball Technique. Countless rare abilities and resources from the ninja world filled the wheel.

As the pointer spun, each brief flash of possibility tugged at his heart. Finally, it slowed and clicked to a stop.

"Uchiha clan standard bloodline!"

Bei Yuan Feng froze.

Not the Sharingan… but the standard bloodline of the Uchiha clan?

What was going on?

He thought for a moment before reaching a guess. Maybe, according to the system, the Uchiha bloodline was one thing, and the Sharingan was something separate.

After all, you could have a Sharingan without being Uchiha. Kakashi was the perfect example.

But the price for that was being unable to close it normally. Kakashi's chakra reserves had become the butt of countless jokes. People even turned his chakra pool into an actual unit of measurement: "One Kakashi."

Many assumed he barely had any chakra. In reality, Kakashi's chakra wasn't that low. Just nowhere near as little as it seemed.

The problem was the Sharingan that was always active, draining his chakra nonstop. That forced him into becoming an assassin-type ninja.

For a shinobi, being an assassin wasn't necessarily a bad path. But that was only early Naruto. In later arcs, assassin-types were practically made of paper and died instantly.

Everyone was built like a monster by then. One body stronger than the next.

But if Bei Yuan Feng had the Uchiha clan's standard bloodline, it was an entirely different situation. It meant his genetics had literally changed. He had become an unofficial surviving member of the Uchiha clan.

In theory, he could awaken his own Sharingan.

He focused inward and felt his chakra rising at a speed he could clearly sense. Within moments, his total chakra had more than doubled.

He had never felt anything like this since he started training.

Then again, the Uchiha were descendants of the Sage of Six Paths. Maybe they couldn't compare to the Senju clan's insanely strong physical constitution, but that was only in comparison to each other.

Compared to other clans, the Uchiha's chakra reserves were already incredible. Otherwise, Madara Uchiha couldn't have fought Hashirama for so long.

Not to mention Bei Yuan Feng had come from ordinary human blood. He hadn't even belonged to a proper ninja clan.

By the time night fell, he had finished integrating most of the Uchiha bloodline. His chakra had increased more than tenfold. It was already on par with many jonin, shattering the limits he once thought he'd never surpass.

And at his age, he'd just started entering the period where ninja strength grew rapidly. His chakra would only rise from here. The potential of the Uchiha bloodline had barely begun to show itself.

Even more importantly, the quality of his chakra had skyrocketed.

His strength had changed in both quality and quantity. Any jutsu he cast now would be far stronger—an entire rank of power higher at minimum.

He could even feel his talent improving. His memory, comprehension, everything was better. Someone who had always been painfully average could now be considered a small-scale genius.

How small? Well… a genius only he knew about.

After that, Bei Yuan Feng ran a few tests, checking every part of his strengthened abilities. Where he had once barely scraped the boundary of chunin level, he was now easily comparable to a Tokubetsu Jonin. Against a normal jonin, he wouldn't even flinch.

The crushing pressure on his heart that he'd felt his entire life finally eased. For the first time since arriving in this world, he could breathe.

Even in a world this dangerous, he finally had a real chance.

A chance to escape being cannon fodder.

A chance to stand at the top of the ninja world.
