Chapter 6 - Chapter 6: Robert Anoints Mufasa as Knight

Mufasa won the tournament championship, and King Robert personally knighted Mufasa as a Knight of the Seven Kingdoms, as previously agreed.

King Robert solemnly took the sword from Barristan. Then, before the eyes of the assembled crowd, he bade Mufasa kneel.

"Mufasa, kneel!" he said sternly.

Mufasa knelt on one knee, bowing his head to await Robert's anointing.

Robert lightly tapped his left shoulder with the sword.

"In the name of the Father, I charge you to be righteous and pursue justice."

He then shifted the sword and lightly tapped Mufasa's right shoulder.

"In the name of the Mother, I charge you to protect women, children, and the elderly."

Robert placed the sword on Mufasa's left shoulder again.

"In the name of the Warrior, I charge you to be brave, fearless, and victorious in every battle."

"Now rise, Knight of the Seven Kingdoms! Mufasa Lannister."

When Mufasa stood up again, he was officially a knight.

Everyone present cheered his name loudly.

"Mufasa! Mufasa! Mufasa!"

"Thank you, Your Grace!" Mufasa thanked Robert, simultaneously spending one hundred Popularity Points to check King Robert's stats.

"Name: Robert Baratheon"

"Identity: King of the Andals, the Rhoynar, and the First Men, Lord Protector of the Realm of Westeros, Robert I of House Baratheon."

"Profession: Warrior/Knight"

"Strength: 35 points"

"Speed: 16 points"

"Intelligence: 15 points"

"Spirit: 20 points"

"Magic Power: 8 points"

"Talent: Hammer God. When the 'Hammer God' talent is activated, there is a fifty percent chance of instantly killing an opponent whose strength does not exceed three times the user's own."

Seeing Robert's stats, his exaggerated Strength was nearly double Jaime's. Furthermore, the 'Hammer God' talent offered a fifty percent chance of instant kill.

"No wonder he shattered Rhaegar's chest with a single hammer blow at the end of the Battle of the Trident!"

Mufasa had heard old soldiers in King's Landing mention this; they were Baratheon soldiers who had fought in the Battle of the Trident.

According to them, during the duel between Robert and Rhaegar, Rhaegar initially had the upper hand, even wounding Robert at one point. But in the end, Robert suddenly killed Rhaegar with one blow. No one knew exactly how it happened.

Logically, Rhaegar was two years older than Robert and had been trained by the likes of the Sword of the Morning and Barristan Selmy of the Kingsguard. Therefore, Rhaegar's strength should not have been inferior to Robert's.

It could only be attributed to Robert's unbelievably powerful 'Hammer God' talent. A fifty percent chance of instant killing an enemy whose strength is less than three times your own—it was practically a divine skill.

After knighting Mufasa, Robert happily clapped him on the shoulder.

"I hope that someday Joffrey can also be knighted by you. I want your friendship to be like mine and Eddard Stark's."

"We will be friends forever, brothers forever, Your Grace!" Mufasa replied.

Joffrey, his face flushed, walked over and threw an arm around Mufasa's shoulder.

"In another year, I'll enter the tournament too, and I'll win a championship myself! Mufasa, don't forget, in a year, you'll be the one knighting me!" Joffrey exclaimed excitedly.

His face, flushed crimson from overexcitement, currently resembled a monkey's rear end.

King Robert left with the Kingsguard. Cersei also returned to the royal apartments with Myrcella, but before leaving, she gave Mufasa a complex look. In the end, she said nothing.

Mufasa and Joffrey approached Tywin Lannister together.

"Grandfather!"

"Grandfather!"

Both were calling the same person, and they were essentially saying the same word.

Tyrion Lannister, the Imp, was also by Tywin's side.

"Mufasa! This time, I won a brothel in King's Landing from Baelish, and Father won a stretch of beach on the Fingers from him. Stannis also won a village in the Stormlands from Renly. Because of you, many people made a profit, and many also lost money," Tyrion remarked.

"Winning and losing is normal, Uncle. But you shouldn't touch gambling unless you are completely sure. After all, the house always wins," Mufasa said.

"You brat, now you're lecturing me! Hahaha!" Tyrion happily clapped Mufasa on the shoulder.

Tywin Lannister spoke up then.

"My wager with Baelish was ten thousand gold dragons. I won a stretch of beach from him, and the ten thousand gold dragons I wagered are now yours, Mufasa. Don't disappoint me in the future!"

After Tywin Lannister finished speaking, he departed.

He was already far away before Mufasa could fully react.

"That's a windfall from heaven! Ten thousand gold dragons just handed to you! No way, Mufasa, you have to split it with me—five thousand, or at least three thousand!" Joffrey said, tugging Mufasa's arm.

"It seems Father approves of you, Mufasa! A knight at twelve, and the champion of the tournament! A grandson like that is priceless!" Tyrion commented.

"So that's it. It looks like I don't have to worry about my identity anymore!" Mufasa finally breathed a sigh of relief.

He then checked Tyrion's stats.

"Name: Tyrion Lannister"

"Identity: Warden of the West, Second Son of Tywin Lannister, Lord of Casterly Rock."

"Profession: None"

"Strength: 8 points"

"Speed: 8 points"

"Intelligence: 36 points"

"Spirit: 25 points"

"Magic Power: 10 points"

"Talent: Master Diplomat. Can converse happily with anyone and persuade the majority of them."

"It's a real shame about Tyrion. Because he is a dwarf, his Strength and Speed cannot reach the limits of a normal person, but his Intelligence, Spirit, and Magic Power far exceed the ordinary!"

"His talent makes him a born diplomat and negotiator. Truly worthy of the name Tyrion Lannister."

Since Mufasa had been knighted, he was expected to pray in the sept overnight and be anointed with holy oil.

However, Mufasa found this too troublesome, so he took out a copy of *The Seven-Pointed Star* and addressed the High Septon.

"The Seven blessed me with victory in the tournament; I have already received their approval! Let's dispense with these unimportant, tedious rituals!"

"Very well, Ser Mufasa. I hope you remain a faithful knight." The High Septon knew Mufasa was currently the talk of King's Landing and did not wish to antagonize him.

After leaving the sept, Mufasa returned to the Red Keep. He and Tyrion usually stayed there, as they were considered members of the royal family by marriage.

After Cersei married Robert, Robert's brothers were no longer just Stannis and Renly; they also included Jaime and Tyrion.

The first two were brothers by blood, the latter two by marriage. The children of all his brothers were considered Robert's nieces and nephews.

Robert had once wanted Stannis to bring Shireen to live in the Red Keep, but Stannis never agreed.

Before returning to his own room, Mufasa decided to check on Myrcella. He heard she was very upset because she had almost received her first Queen of Love and Beauty crown, only to miss out at the last moment.

"Is the Princess in?" Mufasa asked a Lannister handmaiden outside Myrcella's chambers.

"Ser Mufasa, Her Highness seems very unhappy."

"I understand. I'll go see her."

Mufasa pushed the door open and saw Myrcella hiding under the blankets.

"Myrcella, look what gifts I brought you?"

Mufasa held a box containing three necklaces he had won in a lottery: a ruby necklace, a sapphire necklace, and a Valyrian steel necklace.

Myrcella peeked her head out from under the covers and looked at Mufasa.

"Hmph, Mufasa, you didn't give the Queen of Love and Beauty crown to me; you gave it to that Joffrey fellow! You two are both terrible!"

"My little princess! Brother was wrong, alright? Come quickly and see which of these necklaces you like?" Mufasa placed the box of glittering necklaces on her bed.

"Wow, the ruby and sapphire are so beautiful, but what is the other one?" Myrcella had never seen Valyrian steel before, so she didn't know it could be made into a necklace.

"A Valyrian steel necklace. I traded the Queen of Love and Beauty crown to Joffrey for this! He hid it so well; if I hadn't accidentally discovered it, he would have kept it hidden forever!" Mufasa immediately shifted the blame to Joffrey since he wasn't present.

"So that's what happened! Did you two agree beforehand to trade the crown for the necklace?" The expression on Myrcella's face finally changed from displeasure to happiness.

Mufasa nodded.
