Chapter 3 - CHAPTER 3“The First Ripples”

Cheon Ming chose a seat by the window, resting his elbow lazily on the desk. Sunlight reflected off his golden eyes, giving them an almost supernatural glow. Students kept glancing his way, whispering behind their hands.

No one dared sit beside him.

Not until Daniel Park — in his slimmer, good-looking body — entered the classroom, still slightly panting from running between periods.

His eyes landed on Ming.

That aura…

It reminded Daniel of Gun.

But it wasn't the same.

Gun felt like a blade.

Cheon Ming felt like a mountain with eyes.

Daniel hesitated — then approached.

"Uh… hi. I'm Daniel. I think I'm supposed to sit here."

Ming didn't look up. "Then sit."

Daniel swallowed nervously and took the seat.

The silence between them wasn't awkward — it was heavy, like Daniel had accidentally sat beside a king on his throne.

After a few seconds, Daniel whispered, "You're the new transfer student, right?"

Ming finally glanced at him.

The golden eyes were sharp, but not hostile.

"You're Daniel Park. The one with two bodies."

Daniel froze.

…How did he know?

Before Daniel could ask, the teacher entered and began roll call. Students straightened up, but the tension didn't fade.

---

During Lunch Break

The cafeteria exploded with noise.

Zack Lee entered first, looking around with irritation. Basil and the others followed him like ducklings.

"Dude, that new guy—he beat up three upperclassmen like they were nothing!" Basil whispered. "I swear, he didn't even move fast. He just… dismantled them."

Zack gritted his teeth.

He hated feeling overshadowed.

Still… he couldn't deny it.

Cheon Ming was different.

Jay Sung walked silently past them, following his usual routine — but even Jay turned his head slightly when he saw Ming sitting alone at a table, calmly eating as if nothing in this building concerned him.

The cafeteria noise dimmed for a moment.

People stared.

Then the whispers started again.

"Is he in a gang?"

"He looks too rich to be in a gang…"

"He looks more dangerous than any gang."

Daniel, tray in hand, scanned the room.

Should he sit with Ming again?

Would he even allow it?

Before Daniel could decide, three notorious second-years — ones who never backed down from a fight — approached Ming's table.

Not stupid, but territorial.

"Cheon Ming," the leader said, trying to sound confident. "We heard you like picking fights. We don't like new people acting big in our school."

Ming continued eating, not looking up.

"You have three seconds to walk away," he said calmly.

The leader slammed his hand on the table. "You think we're scared of your hair dye, pretty boy—"

The moment his palm touched the table, Ming moved.

Not fast.

Not flashy.

Just precise.

CRACK.

Ming's chopstick jabbed into the wood next to the boy's hand — millimeters from piercing his skin.

The cafeteria went dead silent.

Ming finally looked up.

Golden eyes.

Empty, cold, unbothered.

"You're interrupting my meal. Leave."

The boys stumbled backward, fear overriding pride.

Zack watched from across the room, fists clenching.

Jay's eyes narrowed slightly.

Even Vasco, just entering the cafeteria with a tray of free bread, paused as if sensing a rival aura.

Daniel sat beside Ming carefully.

"You didn't have to scare them like that…"

Ming wiped his mouth with a napkin.

"They touched my table," he said simply. "People need to understand boundaries."

Daniel swallowed.

Cheon Ming wasn't like anyone in J High.

Not even close.

---

Outside, Unknown to Ming

At the gates of J High, a black car waited.

Inside sat Jiha, reading updates on her tablet.

A man in a dragon-emblazoned jacket leaned forward. "Vice Commander… how is Master Ming adapting to the school?"

Jiha smirked.

"He's already changing the ecosystem."

She looked toward the school building, where a purple-haired figure was hidden behind walls and whispers.

"Seoul doesn't know it yet," she said softly,

"but a dragon has landed."
