Chapter 69 - chapter 69

Jill starts off by leaping at him again. But he vanishes to another tree like before.

"Ugh, what a pain..." She said, irritated because of his abilities.

"What? You can't catch me or something?" The archer shouted at her from afar with a grin on his face.

He tells her that she would need more than raw strength to beat him, so she decided to prioritise speed over damage by concentrating her energy in her legs as she rapidly leapt at the man who stood on a nearby tree branch.

!?

"Whoa!" He said in shock as he jumped away from her, but she was already prepared for him to dodge and transformed her left arm into a strong, dark tentacle, grabbing him as she threw him to the ground.

SLAM!!

"Ugh", the man let out before quickly getting back up as Jill landed in front of him.

The two exchanged multiple blows, and the archer eventually shoots an arrow at her head, but it simply bounces off as if it hit a solid piece of steel.

???

"Huh??" The man said in confusion.

"But last time I shot her head, it went through!" He thought to himself as he used energy to create another arrow.

!!!

"What?" The woman said as a grin rose on her face.

"Don't tell me you thought such a weak attack would actually work on me," Jill said as she slowly walked towards him.

Tsk!

"Shit!"

The man tried to shoot at her from multiple angles, above, below, and behind using his illusion magic, but to no avail. In the end, they bounced off her body.

"The shot you landed on me earlier was only because I wasn't paying attention and got caught off guard, so stop trying," Jill said with a cold tone as she closed the gap between them within seconds. She grabbed his head.

"What the hell!?" he thought as she closed the gap between them.

"Who do you work for?" Jill asked him.

"None of your business," he replied, which she didn't like the answer, so she started clenching his head, which made him scream in pain.

"Tell me everything if you want to live; otherwise, I will rip your head off."
