Chapter 141 - chapter 141

The next day, they were in a somewhat decent hotel, with their place having well-polished wood and a kitchen with a stove and furnace, which Adonis made a salad with since all the meat was contaminated, as he had to throw it away thanks to the group of swordsmen who attacked him the other day.

"Well, at least I could make something with this..." He said, annoyed, as Clad said that it was fine, as he was used to unusual cooking, claiming that he used to eat the eggs of the monsters he hunted if he didn't sell them to beast tamers during his mercenary days.

"..."

"Monster eggs????" Adonis asked, as he swore he'd heard the wrong thing.

"Yeah." He replied.

"Does that taste good?"

"Not really."

"But it does help with energy circulation!" Clad said while giving him a thumbs-up before Jill showed up and joined them at the dinner table.

"Morning, Jill!"

"Morning..." She replied as she yawned before elongating her arm to take a bowl from the kitchen counter, which made Clad remember her dad and decide to ask about his whereabouts; she replied that she didn't have a single clue where he went but could try to call him through telepathy.

"Try it," Clad says, and she does, but she doesn't get an answer back and wonders if he's busy with something else.

"Damn..."

"Other than that."

"I still have to kill that bird creature so the smith makes me a new blade!" Clad says as Adonis tells him that they would need to go to the adventurers' guild for the quest, which he understands as he gets up before telling both of them that they will go right now.

"Right now!?" Adonis asked.

"Yeah, right now!" Clad replied as Jill told them both to take showers first

Meanwhile, deeper in the city, a woman with green hair named Grehas stood, wearing long pants and a simple shirt while carrying a blade, and looked outside her window as she walked the halls of an immense mansion, watching soldiers train each other with swords.

"Hmmm..."

"I feel like training as well."

"Maybe I should go and take a visit down there..." She thought to herself as she continued walking when she noticed someone she definitely didn't enjoy the presence of from the other side of the hall.

"What do you want, Naomi?"

"Maurice is dead."

"I know," Grehas replied.

...!

"You knew?" Naomi said while suprised as she added that the ones behind the murder are currently in the kingdom and that the knights have been following them for quite a while.

"I told them to kill them one by one."

"But they might be stronger than we thought." She added, putting her hand on her blade, and told her to get out of her sight before she decided to kill her.

HMPH!

"Bitch."

"What did you just call me?" Grehas said as an aura started to emit from her body when Naomi added that she's rude to her for something she cannot control and that it's not her fault she looks more charming and approachable, like a flower, than she is, who behaves more like an angry orc.

!!!

"You Insolent woman!" Grehas said loudly as she didn't hesitate to swing her blade at her, full of anger, as she planned to take one of her arms off, when suddenly a man stood between the two as he stopped her blade with two of his fingers, leading to an impact so strong it damaged the nearby structure and shattered the nearby windows, shocking both of them, as the man who stood in front of the two was the heavenly demon, Seong Chaerora.

!?

"Get out of the way, Seong!" Grehas said as he gave her a kind smile before replying.

"Hey, let's not fight each other, yeah?"

"I genuinely don't feel like dealing with this right now..." Seong calmly replied as Naomi watched from behind.

"When did he get here!?" she thought as the demon she made a contract with, Calvin, telepathically told her that he could feel a great amount of compressed demonic energy from him, signaling that he was holding back immensely.

Seong sighed as Grehas didn't back off from his kind warning and changed his tone to a significantly more serious one as his aura started to overwhelm the entire building, and everyone around them felt the immediate change in pressure as he coldly said.

"Grehas."

"The only reason your head is currently still on your shoulders is that Azorah and I have a deal between us."

"So, I will overlook the arrogance that you showed today."

"But..."

"Don't let it happen again." He said as he vanished in front of both of them.
