Chapter 13 - SPACE! It’s Really Big.

John looked at his notification for a quick second before dismissing it.

So he was taking on a darker and more chaotic nature. If he wanted to create life in his world, then he had few other choices.

Most importantly, he had a good idea of exactly what he needed to do in order to give birth to obscenely powerful races.

{Ding.}

{Quest: Unlock more rewards by creating powerful warriors.}

"Oh? That's interesting."

After a few minutes of incessant questioning he knew that if he wanted to earn the best rewards, then he needed to create the harshest and the most bountiful conditions possible.

More treasures, more biomes, and most importantly, more spiritual energy.

"The way forward was on the backs of other people." John shrugged.

Just as he was thinking of a way forward, the girl who spoke up earlier about the ship wanted to say something again.

[My Lord, do you think the ship will survive the trip back?] the small girl spoke up.

This was Susan, the dwarf… sort of.

John didn't know what to say because, unlike most of the girls, she was a variant of her race, and the reason he chose her was simple.

'Dwarfs are kinda gross to look at.'

It takes a special kind of person to be interested in the outliers of society. Some people get off watching different kinds of people wrestle in mud pits, and others who did not, and John was the latter.

Sadly, just about every kind of dwarf is super weird or even downright gross to look at.

Somehow there is even a kind of dwarf that's 20 feet tall yet still shaped like a 3-foot one.

Most female dwarves even have beards.

As for Susan? Uh…

Hear me out.

John wanted humanoid races, and he figured that if he excluded dwarves just because they're ugly, it would be wrong, not to mention it went with the lore he made up about a 'humanoid alliance'.

'So I chose the only dwarf variant that didn't look awful.'

A loli.

Yeah, those were a thing. In fact, they could even be mistaken as a different race altogether, primarily because dwarves were known to be gruff and gross.

Whereas this variation was actually kinda cute. Even the men were basically shota's.

Susan had her arms crossed as she looked at the ship flying off into the distance.

She had her dirty blonde hair braided back Viking-style, trying to look serious despite looking so cute.

John had to stop himself from trying to pet her on the head. He could spot the others looking his way as if wondering what he was thinking, so he prevented himself from being too affectionate with any one person.

Right as he was thinking that, she looked up at him curiously.

He took that as his cue to speak up.

[I noticed you discovered the mortal law of creation. Not blacksmithing or engineering?] he said.

He didn't have any understanding of spaceships, so he didn't know what to say about it. What he did know was that Susan had discovered a new law—a law created by man, or a "Mortal Law."

From his understanding, there were plenty of laws out there—not just nature laws, but laws created by nature itself as well as by the beings that lived there.

This included laws of the sword, creation, and even laws that revolved around emotions. Though those are apparently called "Natural Laws."

He read about it when he was researching all the different kinds of laws.

[Thank you, My Lord. I hope it benefits you greatly, but perhaps you should congratulate the others as well? They're starting to freak me out with their glares.] she said, as she and John looked back at the others.

John gave an awkward smile as he congratulated some of the girls for unlocking the laws of the sword, chaos, war, rage, and a few others.

He thought it was weird that someone discovered the law of the sword considering no swords were used in the fight.

But thanks to sharing the same levels of comprehension, he knew it was because one of them became aware of how much easier the fight would've been if they had used a sword.

He looked around and congratulated everyone on their achievements before telling Jace to consider channeling as much spiritual energy into the Naiad's Tear as she could before it disappeared.

He was about to transfer some of his own spiritual energy to her before thinking better of it.

He still had animal species living on his planet somehow, and he assumed it was because they had that spiritual energy to spare.

'I should really look into that.'

Their population was low, but they were definitely there. He might as well check which ones were the closest to becoming sentient.

He also needed to create a biome dedicated to a certain law or more. The highest-level law he had was water, so he assumed his first sentient race would no doubt be a water-elemental one if things continued at this rate.

Just as he began thinking about that, John began noticing water rising at his feet.

He looked over at Jace, and she just gave him a cheeky smile before disappearing.

He figured now was as good a time as any to leave. The water was already reaching his ankles, and it would likely become much, much greater.

'It's time to get back to studying.'

...…..

A few days passed, and many things happened since the battle.

John spoke with Tiza about holding onto the spiritual energy for a little while longer after she sent her first batch of prisoners—some of which were even at the Dragon-rank.

Tiza already said that she needed to meditate for a few months and figure out what her new tenet would be. She had already made one up in the past, but since her circumstances had changed, she needed to change it up a bit.

So Jace had plenty of time to create the ocean she wanted.

Susan, meanwhile, helped the technical Fourchans repair the ship with the help of her knowledge. Obviously she relied heavily on the Akashic Records for instructions. She didn't know how a spaceship worked, after all.

John, meanwhile, tried learning new techniques related to the various elements, including light, fire, and water. He had to because the girls didn't have the ability to share their knowledge of laws with each other like he could.

So he had no other choice but to learn new things.

One of those included "Qi Particles." These things had been invaluable. It wasn't long before almost every moon had light on every corner of their surface. The fire particles were especially helpful.

They helped warm the surface on several moons.

Of course it wasn't valuable for everyone. Some of the darker-affiliated moons didn't even bother making their surface warm or bright. Some were the polar opposite, in fact.

'Thankfully my comprehension in the laws of darkness and death has gone up as well. I still told them to work on the laws of water though.'

'That reminds me, one of our rewards for creating a 2-star moon was a cultivation technique called [7 Stars Under The Sun].'

As weird as it sounded, the technique was insanely powerful. Sadly it had one major restriction.

Basically, it allowed his champions to practice all seven cultivation paths at once.

Deity.

Creation.

Contract.

Willpower.

Qi.

Artifact.

And surprisingly—demonic.

The last one is called demonic because it heavily relies on taking from the souls of others, or at least a small amount of it.

According to the manual, it all evens out eventually.

Willpower prevents you from going insane from devouring soul essence or divine energy, Qi is the act of gathering energy and lifeforce, artifact is about bonding with the world itself, creation is about creating and altering the world around you, contract allows you to borrow power and abilities from the contractor and absorb some of their power, and deity allows you to gather divine energy from your followers.

This particular cultivation method was designed exclusively for world champions and is extremely advanced. It's only been used by one planet, however.

'I don't know the name of the planet, but it's most likely a sentient one.'

So the question now is: should he give this cultivation technique over to his new champion?

"No, I couldn't care less about her kind. I need to find a way to put humanoids on my moons and so I can replace these gross-looking creatures." he spat.

It wasn't just their appearance; it was everything about them.

...

A few weeks went by, and John made a major discovery!

[Your comprehension in the laws of space has gone up by 5%! Congratulations! Here is your reward!]

After looking at the reward, John just shrugged it off before looking back at his newest discovery.

"So, sitting on the surface of my own planet really does help me? I guess it makes sense. Gravity here is immensely powerful." He scoffed.

He had gotten tired of practicing the more basic laws and started asking himself about the more complicated ones. But more importantly, he wondered what he could get if he learned the laws of space.

The Akashic Records state that every living planet can move on its own. How? By moving the space around them. Sadly for them, it's not so easy—why would it be? The most proficient they could ever get in learning laws is the laws of earth, metal, and maybe a few others, but space shouldn't be one of them. At least unless they're inherently large planets like him.

Spatial laws are only learned if they have no other choice—if their size is too large and they want to keep gravity to a minimum.

"I don't have that luxury. I'm already too big." John sighed for the umpteenth time that week.

He was surprisingly good at controlling space and gravity. The problem was that it took spiritual energy to lower the weight limit.

What's wrong with that, you may ask?

"My lord, the Fourchan queen is here to see you. She wants to become an Earth-Immortal."

That's what's wrong.
