Chapter 1 - Prologue

A lonesome figure stood silently in the desolate expanse of the shadow realm. He looked around with a confused yet wary expression across his face.

"Where in the world... have the curropted shadows gone?"

Sunny had heard from eurys that there existed shadows which had been corrupted. Something that didn't make sense as death cleansed the corruption from one's being, and sent their shadows to the shadow realm. But then again who was he to point out the abnormalities of the statement. He himself was an anomaly... someone who had broken free of something, which none of the Gods could... their fates.

Leaving those thoughts aside Sunny looked around in the distance, making sure not to gaze towards the Void gate.

He had been searching for the shadow weave. Though he got sidetracked for sometime as he couldn't find anything. There were no leads, no hints and most of all, he... was wary.

At first he had roamed the underworld to search for any signs or clues. Since he couldn't get any leads, he asked Cassie for help.

But as even Cassie couldn't find anything he was left with only one option. To use Weaver's mask, just like when he was searching for spirit weave in the Night Garden.

He made sure to use it at a very small scale as he didn't wish for his eyes to be burned to a crisp again. And when he did, he was taken aback.

"How is this...."

Sunny was bewildered. He knew the strings of fate had broken, he was the one who broke it afterall along with Cassie's and Weaver's help. It had been slowly repairing itself, though it would never be the same again.

But even then the vast tapestry of fate had not been utterly obliterated. He took in the mind boggling view and slowly expanded his senses to its limit.

He... was not overwhelmed. This was much easier than his attempt in the Night Garden. Afterall there was not a single strand of fate present in all of the Underworld.... except for one.

He warily approached the lonesome strand of fate. Sunny knew that there was no immediate threat to him as this was only one of his shadows which could be seperated from his being and destroyed incase it got curropted.

But what worried him more was that this string of fate... had a shadow.

"Did the ones in Night Garden have them too?.... Surely not..."

He cautiously brushed his finger across the exceptionally bright string.

Sunny waited for a bit.

Nothing happened. Nothing at all.

He sighed as he then moved his hand towards the shadow of the string which for some reason began to glow brighter.

Before sunny could stop he saw the shadow stretching open. It seemed like a rift in space... no.. a shadow.

His eyes widened as he realized this was an entrance to the shadow realm.

A smirk spread across his face

"About damn tim-"

His words were cut short as he got sucked in the rift.

Everything had seemed to stop. Darkness.... he was submerged in true darkness. Panick set in.

"Something is strange. Why am I stronger? Wait... How come all of my shadows are with me? Even Saint, Mimic and Fiend have entered my soul sea back."

He just hoped Rain would be safe in his absence.

"She was with Tamar so she should be fine... I think. Oh shit! Aiko would be mad her bed and coin generating machine got taken... Whatever not my fault."

Sunny put aside his thoughts as he felt his senses return slowly.

***

And that's how Sunny found himself in this situation. Dangerously close to the Void gate present in the centre of the Shadow Realm. Though by all means he was relieved a bit, relieved he was miles away from the actual gate or he would be curropted already.

"Did broken sword really die? Does he have something to do with the absence of the curropted shadows? Or could he actually be dead and this was the work of his shadow?.... Something is definitely off about this situation..."

Sunny decided to focus on the task at hand so he shifted his focus surveying the surroundings opposite from the Void gate's direction. He had his back turned towards it feeling a hint of unease creep up his back as he shivered slightly. Clearing his mind he gazed around while relying on pure sight as he didn't dare to risk spreading his shadow sense.

"Just how are people so blind? How are they even able to see like this?"

Grumbling he looked around aimlessly before scoffing and putting on Weaver's mask again.

"Whatever let's get this over with."

He activated the [Where's my eye?] enchantment. Again... there was only one string of fate present here for miles across, that too in pristine condition.

The string's undisturbed existence itself seemed to be mocking Sunny's and Cassie's attempt at destroying fate. This for some reason ticked Sunny. It felt like it was different from any other strings he had seen... special in some way. Almost as if it didn't belong to the tapestry of fate in the first place.

And ofcourse it also had a shadow.

He slowly reached for it, brushing his fingers against the string first.

A sense of deja vú washed over him as he muttered.

"Not again"

Sunny got sucked in the rift formed by the string itself this time. He wondered where he would have been taken to if he had tried its shadow.

He grunted as he felt something being taken away.

Pushing those thoughts aside he focused on his surroundings as his senses came back.

But before he could, he felt an inexplicable feeling of weakness wash over him.

Sunny stumbled and fell over his knees as he looked over himself in disbelief.

"Damnation! HOW THE HELL AM I A SAINT AGAIN?!"

So I tried some things, some ideas I got in the heat of the moment and wrote this.

Also its my first time writing so might not be good.

I would like honest reviews as to how this story and my writing is. If you can give it I'd appreciate it.

Hope you enjoyed.
