Chapter 2 - Get Revenge for What They Did to You

[System of Infinite Ascension activated. Binding with the user complete.]

[Name: Kyle Daniels]

[Age: 24 years]

[Situation: Unemployed]

[Level: 1 (Rising King)]

[Base Stats:

Strength 5 | Intelligence 12 | Agility 7 | Charisma 4 | Luck 3]

Kyle read all that, dropped the scissors which hit the floor with a loud clang, and in that situation, couldn't help but laugh even more... "Hahaha, I definitely just went crazy now."

The floating screen changed text again.

[Do you wish to begin your first mission?]

[Yes] [No]

"My first mission?" Kyle murmured, completely confused.

[If the user accepts the mission]

[Reward: Skill Points | $100,000 | Special Reward]

[Warning: If you reject the mission, the system will be completely deactivated with no possibility of reactivation]

Kyle was stunned for a few seconds; he was seriously doubting whether what was in front of his eyes was real. He thought for a moment about blaming it on exhaustion. But... what if the system was real? Would he really waste an opportunity like that? After letting out a long sigh, Kyle finally made up his mind.

"Aagh... Screw it, let's do this!" Kyle said as he raised his finger and pressed the [Yes] button on the floating screen. The floating screen flickered for a moment and changed again.

[Mission accepted successfully!]

[Mission 1: Get Revenge for What They Did to You]

[Details: Return to Inmovatec offices, cause a scene, and humiliate Derek and Brenda in front of everyone.]

[Time to complete the mission: 24 hours]

Kyle looked at the mission details and couldn't help but show a smile.

"Well, well... this is definitely going to get interesting," he murmured, laughing. This was the perfect opportunity to pay those two back for the evil they had done to him, so with extreme enthusiasm, he lay down on his bed and waited for the next day.

""""

The next day, Kyle woke up motivated, something he hadn't done in years. After brushing his teeth, he put on his gray suit, prepared a rather... special... suitcase, and walked with enthusiasm to his old job. Upon arriving at the entrance, he ran into the security guard, who was checking the employees' ID cards. Kyle approached him after everyone had passed to avoid being recognized by his coworkers. "Good morning, Robert," Kyle said with extreme enthusiasm to the guard, who looked at him with a strange expression upon seeing his new energy.

"Wow, I think I've never seen you like this, Kyle. Did something good happen to you?" Robert asked, raising an eyebrow.

Kyle laughed at his comment. "Heh, something like that. I have a very important meeting at nine-thirty... But I left my ID card in my office. Would it be a problem to let me in, please? Just for today."

Robert looked at him surprised; Kyle never left his ID card behind, but since he'd known him since he started, he knew he wasn't a bad guy, so he let out a long sigh and opened the door. "Just for today... okay?"

"Thanks, Robert! I swear I'll make it up to you," Kyle replied as he quickly entered through the door. When he reached the elevator, Kyle ran into several coworkers, who were completely confused to see him there. In fact, they were dumbfounded. He pressed the button to go up to the floor where he used to work.

Upon arriving at his floor, he shot out like a missile straight to Brenda's office, which made him not notice a female coworker coming with some printed papers, crashing into her in a rain of prints.

"S... sorry," the girl said, rubbing her head.

"Oh no, forgive me," Kyle replied, helping her up. He quickly realized that not only did she smell good, but she had impeccable blonde hair, a very familiar gaze, and a suit that was the definition of impeccable. Kyle was petrified by such beauty.

Suddenly, the system window appeared.

[Name: Emily Blackwell]

[Age: 21 years]

[Affection: 0%]

[Information: An innocent girl who likes pretty things]

"Wow, so you can do that too," Kyle murmured, still looking at the girl.

"Are you... okay? You, you can let go of my hand now," Emily said, scratching her face in embarrassment.

"Oh, right, you're right," Kyle quickly came to his senses, nervously let go of her hand, picked up all the papers scattered on the floor, gave them back to the girl, and left. "Sorry, I have something important to do," he said as he quickened his pace. The girl just watched him in confusion. She didn't know why he was in such a hurry.

After walking through the hallways, Kyle finally reached Brenda's office door and, as if it were his own house, turned the handle and entered. There they were. Brenda and Derek—he couldn't have asked for more than to find them both together in the same room. What made Kyle laugh the most was seeing them kissing frantically; hell, they were even using tongues. Kyle wanted to interrupt, but chose to say nothing. He simply took his phone out of his pocket and, like the good person he was who respected those two vermin's privacy, bathed them in a barrage of flashes.

Both, upon realizing it, turned around, only to be shocked to find the pawn they had removed from the board the day before taking photos with his cell phone. "Kyle?! What the hell are you doing here, you damn rat?!" Derek shouted, nervous.

"Kyle, if you don't leave right now, I'll call security," Brenda said, trying to hide her nervousness. "If you don't get out of here, I swear on everything in the world I'll sue you so hard you'll end up on the street for life."

At that comment, Kyle could only burst out laughing and then show Brenda the phone with a photo of them making out. "No problem, Brenda, call security. But before they arrive... wouldn't it be nice to share this photo on all the company screens?"

Upon hearing this, Brenda began to tremble. "What... what do you want, you bastard?"

"Relax, what I want is quite simple," Kyle said, putting the suitcase on the table, opening it, and taking out some printed posters. "I just want you to put this on. It suits you perfectly." The poster said in red letters (Bitch).

"Ha, you think I'm going to wear that degrading thing?!" Brenda said with a contemptuous tone.

Derek tried to run toward Kyle to land a punch. But just before he took the first step, Kyle pulled a cream cake out of the suitcase and threw it at him, hitting him full in the face.

"Hey hey, calm down, Derek," Kyle said while laughing uncontrollably. "Don't feel left out, I have one for you too." Kyle pulled out a second poster that said (Bootlicker).

Derek looked at him with rage, wiped his face, and tried to charge at Kyle again, who stopped him by raising his phone with a wild smile and his finger near the send button. "I wouldn't do that if I were you. I still know the password to the local server network. Just imagine how humiliating it would be to find out the Golden Boy is having a little affair with the boss's wife."

"No... you couldn't do that, Kyle, you're not that kind of man," Brenda said with a nervous voice, trying to persuade him, but he just looked at her fixedly and laughed. "Try me," Kyle said with a serious voice. In that situation, they had no choice but to do what Kyle said, so both put the posters on their chests and taped them on with adhesive tape.

"Now what?" Brenda asked, her face red from humiliation.

"Pose," Kyle said, pointing his phone at them.

With some shame, both posed, and you could hear Kyle taking the photo amid laughter. "What a cute couple. I love love like this," Kyle said as he walked toward the blinds and pressed the button to open them.

"WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU DOING, YOU BASTARD?!" Derek shouted, trying to stop Kyle, but it was too late. The blinds opened suddenly, revealing that scene to the more than fifty employees who were pressed against the glass at that moment.

"What the hell?!" Brenda exclaimed, trying to rip off the poster taped to her with force.

Kyle, leaving the room with a macabre smile, turned around and gave them one last smile they would remember forever. "By the way, one last gift." Suddenly, all the office monitors lit up with the photos of them kissing and also the one where they appeared with the posters. That day, the offices turned into total chaos, filled with murmurs and surprises.

[Mission 1: Get Revenge for What They Did to You, completed]

[Reward: +30 skill points | +$100,000]

[Claim Special Reward?]

[Yes] [No]

"YOU'RE DEAD, KYLE, YOU HEAR ME, DEAD!!" Derek shouted in fury as he tried to hide from people's gazes.

"Kyle Daniels! Come with us out of the facilities right now!" With all the commotion, it was obvious security would arrive. Kyle raised his hands without issue and was grabbed and taken to the exit by one of the guards. "Relax, guys. I don't plan on coming back," he said with extreme calm, because his mission was already done. Though as they dragged him, he noticed a familiar voice in the crowd.

"Aunt... Is this... true?"

It was the same girl he had bumped into minutes before; apparently, she was the famous niece Brenda wanted to put in her position. Kyle just smiled; she didn't seem like a bad girl compared to her aunt. He thought that if he ever ran into her again, he would definitely talk to her.

Suddenly, the system window emerged again.

On the way to the elevator, Robert, who was one of the ones escorting him, looked at him with some concern. "Brother... why did you do it?"

Hearing that, Kyle couldn't help but laugh. "Sometimes you have to fill the water hole to make the rats come out. Don't worry, I promise I'll reward you for what you did for me today."

Robert was a bit puzzled by Kyle's comment; he knew he wouldn't do this without a concrete reason. Suddenly, a notification arrived on his phone. Robert checked it quickly and realized that $10,000 had arrived in his bank account, which made him jump—it was more than enough money to live well with his family for several months. Robert looked at Kyle with extreme surprise, and he just winked at him.

The afternoon ended with Kyle being banned from the company. Since no one was hurt and there were no fights, no criminal charges were filed, and it just remained as someone who came to make a ruckus.

Back in his apartment, Kyle threw himself on the bed and opened the system screen to carefully read his stats, since he hadn't paid special attention to what he had received because they were escorting him. Kyle simply thought about the screen, and it emerged.

Looking it over, something made him jump out of bed. "Did I... did I get stronger?" He quickly tried to punch the wall, and when he did, *bam*, he felt immense pain in all his knuckles.

"Aaagh! Fuck, that hurts!" Kyle shouted from the immense pain he felt.

The screen changed.

[Warning: The strength of an average human is 15, while that of a bodybuilder is around 30. It is not recommended to punch objects like walls yet]

"AND YOU COULDN'T WARN ME BEFORE?!" Kyle shouted, rolling on the floor.

The system showed him a text he had apparently overlooked.

[Special Reward: Unclaimed]

[Do you wish to claim it?]

[Yes] [No]

"Right, I still haven't claimed the special reward," he said while still rubbing his arm. Then, he raised his finger and touched the [Yes] button.

The system chimed.
