Chapter 2 - C2 The Talk

3 New Messages; Young Midoriya:

Uhhhh.. Yagi-san, my mom kinda wants to meet you now.

Oh, I can also control OFA without breaking my bones now!!!

I also want to tell her about the quirk, I'm getting tired of lying to her.. Not to mention, she was the one helping me with controlling it!

3 New Messages; Yagi-san:

Sorry for the late response, my boy, I understand your mother wants to meet me, and I sort of needs to meet her too now for something.

It is great news to hear about your developments.

Can I come to your house right now?

-Scene Change-

"Oh my God, All Might wants to come to my house!" Izuku yelled in surprise, he was in his room as both he and Inko finished eating.

Izuku promised his mom that he wouldn't practice Full Cowling, it took him and Inko at least half an hour to come up with a good name for his new technique. Without showing it to his mentor first, as she wanted to make sure that he was safe.

However, that didn't stop him from writing everything he could about Full Cowl in his hero notebook.

He wrote how he came up with it, the theory of how it works and how much percentage he could use at the moment.

Izuku got up from his bed as he made his way to his mother's room, "Mom my mentor asked me if he should come here right now".

After the confirmation of Inko, Izuku sent a message to All Might that he could come to his house, along with his address.

Another half an hour later there was a knock on the door.

Izuku made his way to the door, he was nervous as he didn't know how his mother would react to all of the information she's about to learn.

He opened the door and greeted All Might, the man had his usual buggy yellow suit on.

"It's good to see you Yagi-san", Izuku said, inviting him in.

Yagi smiled at him, "It's good to see you too, young Midoriya", he said.

The two made their way to the couch as Inko was in the kitchen making tea. They sat down, and Izuku noticed Yagi taking some kind of document out of his pocket.

"What's that for Yagi?", he couldn't help but ask.

"You remember that I said I need to talk to your mother too about something?" Yagi asked, Izuku nodded his head in confirmation.

"Well.. it'll be easier if we tell her about One For All first, then I'll tell the both of you what this is all about", Yagi said as he grinned at him.

Inko arrived after a few more moments.

"Uhh.. this is Yagi-san, Mom", Izuku said, "Though the both of us want to tell you… something".

"Is everything alright, Izuku?", Inko asked, a frown on her face.

"Yeah. It's just a… well, we don't really know how to tell you this", Izuku said, scratching the back of his neck.

Yagi sighed, placing his hand on Izuku's shoulder, he got up from his seat, "It's best if I just show you, Mrs Midoriya, you should take a seat though".

Inko listened to Yagi, taking a seat next to Izuku.

Steam rose from Yagi's body and Inko's eyes widened as suddenly the skeleton frame of the man was replaced with… "All Might?".

All Might grinned at her, "Indeed! I AM HER- Izuku got up from his seat in a hurry as his mentor started coughing blood.

"Thank you young Midoriya.." Yagi said with a tired sigh, "I'm way past my time limit, unfortunately".

Inko was stone cold as she was still processing what had just happened.

"Are you.. an imposter or something?", Inko couldn't help but ask.

Yagi chuckled at that, "Like mother like son.. No, unfortunately, I am not", he said as he showed her his wound.

"Six years ago, I fought a very dangerous villain, I killed him, and he gave me this".

Inko had been a nurse for almost twenty years now, and throughout all of her career, she hadn't seen anyone with this level of injury being able to survive.

"How are you even alive?"

"I.. don't really know, to be honest", Yagi replied, "I'd been less able to use my quirk ever since that day, right now, I'm only able to be All Might for about one hour a day".

"That's…", Inko has no words, she remembered what it was like before All Might became the symbol of peace.

"Why are you telling me this? What's my son have to do with all of this?" she asked.

"You see, I'm not a natural-born hero, my quirk is called One For All, the ability to cultivate power and pass that power on to another..", Yagi said as he looked to Izuku, smiling at him.

"I'm the eighth, young Midoriya is the ninth".

There was silence for a couple of seconds, it felt like minutes to Izuku, he had absolutely no idea how his mom would react to this.

"Mom, are you okay?".

Inko took deep breaths as she processed what she just heard. "Ever since you were little all you wanted to be was a hero".

"Mom, plea-

"Izuku, let me do the talking now", Inko said, Izuku nodded his head, shutting up instantly.

"I was happy for you when you got your quirk in the entrance exam, even though it broke you every time you used it", Inko didn't miss Yagi's wince.

"I got even more happy for you when you got accepted, I was sure that now UA will help you with controlling your quirk, and you'll finally be able to live your dream".

"Izuku, I thought you'd be one of the normal heroes, not the ultimate hero", she said, tears in her eyes, "I know that All Might is just a human and that one day he'll retire, but.."

"I never thought you'd need to replace someone like him, do you understand what this means? You wouldn't be just a regular hero, Izuku you'll need to be-

"I know, Mom, I spent many sleepless nights just thinking about that, when All Might chose me", Izuku said with a nervous grin.

"At first, I was worried that he'd see, eventually, that someone like me wasn't worthy, but as time passed, I realised that he really intended on giving it to me".

"I think it gave me a boost in confidence or something..", Izuku took a slight breath as he looked his mom in the eyes.

"Ever since I was little, all I ever wanted to do was to be a hero, and now the symbol of peace himself believed in me? Wanted to give me his own quirk?".

"It made me realise that maybe I can actually be a hero, and that I'll do anything to not disappoint the first person who actually believed in me".

"Please, Mom, this is all I ever wanted to do".

Inko looked at her son for a couple more seconds, trying to see if he was really serious about this, though, after a couple more seconds she sighed.

"Okay..", she said.

"Okay?" Izuku asked.

"I'll support you however I can, Izuku, if this is what you want to do, I'll accept it".

Izuku smiled at her as he hugged her. "Thanks, Mom".

"I do have some conditions first though", Inko said after they broke their hug, looking at All Might.

"You wouldn't regret this Mrs Midoriya", Yagi said, a large smile on his face, "Young Midoriya will become a better hero than I ever hoped to be, whatever conditions you have I accept them".

"All Might, please just call me Inko", she said, smiling at him, "And all I want is for you to give me your number, if something bad happens give me a call, and please, protect my son, he's all I have".

"I'll protect him with my life, you have nothing to worry about, you may call me Toshinori then, you too my boy, we've known each other for more than a year now, it's time we finally drop the formalities".

Izuku nodded his head, agreeing with All Might, "Alright then, Toshinori".

"Now", Toshinori said, placing his hand on the document that was on the table, "I told young Midoriya that I also needed to meet you for something, Inko".

Inko nodded, letting Toshinori continue.

"This is my will, of sorts, my secretary told me that I'll need your signature for the process to be smoother".

"I.. don't understand?".

"I want you to sign this so young Izuku here will be able to, once he turns eighteen, own everything I own".

There was dead silence for a couple of moments as both Midoriyas thought they didn't hear right.

"You want me to…a..are you serious?" Izuku asked, while yes, he accepted that he was now All Might's successor, he never imagined this would ever happen.

"My boy, I want Might Tower to be yours, along with my.. honestly ridiculous amount of money". Toshinori said with a sheepish grin.

"You are my successor, and I'm afraid my time is running out, I estimate that I have at least half a year left, before I'll need to retire".

"Six months!? But All Might, the world is not ready for that, I'm only now been able to properly control One For All!".

Toshinori sighed, placing his hand on Izuku's shoulder, "I know, and I'm sorry that I'm placing this burden on you so soon, young Izuku, but I'm glad that you are my successor, because I know that you'll be able to handle it".

Toshinori looked at Inko as he continued, "Please, I need you to sign this paper, Inko, if not for me, then for your son's case, he'll need it, and I'm glad I could give my property to him instead of the government".

Inko nodded her head with a shaky breath, after reading the paper carefully, she did had to take a break in the middle, due to the sheer amount of tears she was shading she signed it.

"Now", Toshinori said, taking the signed document back to his pocket. "Why won't you show me the progress you made with One For All". He said, smiling at the duo.

Izuku nodded excitedly, getting up from his seat he faced both Toshinori and Inko, "Mom and I called this new technique Full Cowling, or Full Cowl for short", he said as suddenly red vines began to grow all over his body, and green lightning began surrounding him.

Toshinori hummed as he examined Izuku, "The red vines and the lightning are a bit unusual, I never had them before, how much percentage are you using now, young Izuku?".

"I'm using about five percent right now, I didn't try to go past that though, so I don't know if I can handle more", Izuku said with a slight frown on his face.

Toshinori noticed Izuku's frown, "Don't worry young Izuku, we'll have more than enough time to train this technique of yours for the sports festival".

"We're going to train? Where?". Izuku asked.

"At Might Tower of course!".
