Chapter 7 - I Must Hypnotize You Aura! [7]

Chapter 7: Interspecies Customs Encyclopedia

[My Interspecies Customs Encyclopedia Conquest System!]

[Aura]

[Race: Top-tier Demon!]

[Measurements: 170cm, 51kg, C+]

[Style: Cold, tsundere, confident bratty girl]

[Data Collection: Future Seven Sage of Destruction, Aura the Guillotine, Pervert who uses Obedience Magic, Inhuman Demon, Must be dealt with severely!]

[Conquest Progress: 1%]

[Available Mission: Fingal's Hypnotic Spell, Prelude to Summer Rhapsody!]

All of the above system was pure fantasy.

Fingal seriously contemplated how to proceed.

Aura was from the Demon race. They had no understanding of morality, emotions, or such concepts. They didn't grieve over their own suffering, nor did they feel pain at the loss of comrades. They were beasts. Under normal circumstances, conquering Aura would be completely impossible. Her values were different from humans. Even Keima Katsuragi, the god of conquest, would just end up killed if he came here, possibly even eaten by the Demons.

Therefore, the core strategy absolutely shouldn't be making Aura 'like' him enough to abandon the city massacre—that was impossible, there simply wasn't enough time. The only possibility was to make Aura experience some human pleasures, then use the system to 'deepen' the temptation of these experiences.

Make Aura realize that killing these humans wasn't particularly meaningful. Transition from killing to ignoring, or simply 'controlling' them.

Fingal called this plan... The Infinite Tsukuyomi Plan!

Become immersed in my illusions! Aura!

...

"Aura-sama, you must be bored, right? Being ordered around by the Demon King all day to do this and that. Even killing humans must be like stepping on ants to you." Fingal said these utterly inhuman words with complete seriousness, "Even for you, doing such things day after day must become tedious."

"Do you have any hobbies?"

Surprisingly, Aura could still communicate. Perhaps, as Fingal said, she is too bored.

Hobbies?

Sitting atop her armor, Aura tilted her head up slightly. Hobbies... Now that she thought about it, the Demons seemed to have none of these things. Most of them were obsessed with studying their own magic.

"...Researching Magic, I suppose."

Aura put on a thoughtful expression. After all, daily life was usually too boring—Demons mostly just studied Magic.

She was feeling somewhat bored. How should she breach the human city later?

No challenge at all. Human castles meant nothing to her.

...

How was he supposed to continue this?

This was like asking your beloved pure-hearted crush what they liked—only for the crush to hold up a math textbook and say they loved studying. Suddenly feeling ashamed of your smoking, drinking, delinquent self—how could you possibly be worthy of such purity?

Ah, but this is Aura? Then never mind, that's called vanquishing evil. I'm too righteous.

Did I say thank you? Be grateful I'm not putting cigarettes out on your ass.

Fingal's pupils shook violently. Damn it, Aura, you boring woman! How can you be obsessed with academic knowledge? I must raise the intensity for you.

He took a deep breath, smiled, and said:

"I was actually once under an Illusion—cast by an elf."

?

Oh? An elf?

Aura finally showed some interest. She'd heard of elves—creatures with long lifespans and decent magical abilities.

The Demon King seems to have recently sent someone to exterminate the elf village.

Though she was somewhat curious about elven Illusions... it wasn't that big of a deal.

"Illusions are nothing special.... I can't imagine anything that could make me addicted. But since this is your humble suggestion, I'll listen to it."

Aura felt it didn't matter either way—her Obedience Magic was invincible.

Chatting with Fingal was simply because she had nothing better to do, plus her own demonic nature was cruel but not insane. She wasn't the type to constantly scream 'Ahhh! Lowly, inferior humans don't deserve to speak with me!'

To her, Fingal was like a privacy-guaranteed AI chatbot.

"Illusions usually start with familiar daily life scenes, making it hard for you to distinguish reality from dreams. You think you're in reality, but actually you're already under an Illusion. Being in reality is completely your illusion."

"No matter how powerful you are, if you're in an illusion without realizing it, you can't utilize your strength. The real you in reality could easily be killed by weaker beings."

Fingal strategically darkened his expression, talking complete nonsense. He'd never actually been under any Illusion, but hadn't he watched anime?

He spoke as if it were real. If an actual Illusion-using demon were here, they might ask 'Really? This is what Illusions are?' Such doubts actually made Aura believe him.

Hmm?

Aura slightly furrowed her brows. Something she'd never considered before.... Are Illusions really that powerful?

"Then how did you break free? There's no reason an elf wouldn't kill someone as weak as you... Are you perhaps messing with me?"

This human... was truly strange.

She was somewhat concerned. A slave who could lie to her... was that really a slave? Fortunately, she could force Fingal to tell the truth.

[Aura's affection level toward you slightly decreased.]

[Aura's affection level dropped below twenty.]

"That's right, I was lying to you"

"???"

"You... really want to die, don't you?"

Aura slightly furrowed her brows. A mere slave dared to lie to me again? Let's see how you talk your way out of this one.

She was genuinely somewhat annoyed. Why did she even have such a strange slave anyway?

[Aura questioned your words.]

[Aura doubted your loyalty.]

[Aura questioned her own thoughts.]
