Chapter 17 - Chapter 17: The Fitting

The day after Sofia announces they're moving up the wedding date, I'm sitting in an upscale bridal boutique as Sofia and Lee Know find some last-minute outfits.

"Why are we here again?" Robin asks

"I'm here to watch the boys."

And hopefully a moment alone to talk to Lee Know, since we haven't spoken since last night.

"...I don't know why you're here." I glare at him.

"Aw, don't pretend you're not glad to see me."

"Robin, I haven't forgotten what happened at the company picnic. Or that you tattled to Sofia right after."

"Can't we let bygones be bygones?"

 "No."

 "(Y/N)! (Y/N)! Look at Dad!"

Robin is interrupted by Mason and Mickey running out of the dressing room, followed by Lee Know.

"Lee Know, you look stunning. You'll be the best-dressed groom ever."

"That's 'cause I haven't got my shot yet." Robin smirks.

"You look really handsome, Dad!" Mickey smiles up at his dad.

"Thanks, everyone. I think I'm all set then."

Lee Know clears his throat and looks at me.

 "Hey (Y/N), can you--"

Sofia emerges from the back room with a grin.

"Great news, everyone! Peter Copping would be thrilled to rush my veil and --Boo bear! I'm not suppose to see you until the big day! It's bad luck!"

"Right, right, sorry. I'll go change."

"And stay back there until you're told to come out, okay? I'm going to try on my dress next!"

Lee Know gives me a long look before disappearing into his dressing rom again. I wish I'd gotten the chance to talk last night...or this morning...or anytime really. I need to know what moving up the wedding means for both of us. Once the coast is clear, Sofia follows Lee Know into the dressing room area. A few minutes later, she returns, grinning from ear to ear as she pulls her hair back into a chic bun and shows off her gown.

"Well? Don't you just love it?"

"I think you already know how I feel, Sofia."

Robin gives her a chef's kiss, and she beams.

 "It's long!" Mason says.

 "And white!" Mickey adds.

 "Like a ghost!"

"I suppose you assessment could be worse. (Y/N)? Any shade to throw, or have I finally stunned you into silence?"

"You look fine. It's a nice dress, and you look like you always do."

"...Well, that's not exactly the reaction I was hoping for, but I agree, the dress is nice."

Sofia stands in front of the mirrored wall, and I look away, trying to ignore the pang in my heart.

"Alright, I'm convinced. This the one! (Y/N), can you take the boys downstairs to get their suites refitted while I change?"

"But Dad said we could wear our old suits to the wedding!" Mickey blurts.

"I know, dear, but they need to be tailored again. Can't have my new sons looking raggedy next to me at the altar."

"I can take the rascals. It's better than sitting here by myself. Come on, boys."

 "But--"

Robin and Sofia herd the boys from the room before I can even finish my protest. With Sofia gone to change, I look around the empty room. My eyes drift to the other dressing room door, where Lee Know is still changing out of his clothes. Maybe now would be a good time for that talk. Who knows when I can catch him alone again? And there's so much I want to say... I take a deep breath...then slip into Lee Know's dressing room.

"(Y/N)? What're you doing in here?"

Lee Know raises his eyebrows when I lock the dressing room door behind me.

"We need to talk, and we haven't been able to find a moment alone, so I just thought..."

I force my eyes away from his sculpted body and take a seat on the bench along the side wall.

 "I get it. I'm glad you're here."

Lee Know sits next to me and waits for me to gather my thoughts.

"So...two weeks until you're married, huh? Or I guess, two weeks minus one day now..."

"I'm sorry we ambushed you like that. Sofia thought it'd be fun to surprise the boys with the news..."

"I keep reminding myself that you were always getting married, and even though we never really talked about what we'd do then..."

"I know. It feels like our time is being cut short."

I finally look over at Lee Know, catching his eyes.

 "I'm sorry...this is harder than I thought it'd be."

I swallow back tears, trying to keep my composure. Lee Know reaches out to cup my cheek.

"You have nothing to apologize for. I'm the one who's sorry. I'm selfish. And eventually you're gonna get sick of my bullshit and leave, and I'll have to let you walk away."

 "Lee Know..."

"Then I'll only see you when I can't help but look up your social media, and someday, there'll be pictures of your wedding day on there."

He drifts closer with each word.

"A wedding I wasn't invited to. To some man I've never met. One I'm sure isn't good enough for you...but is infinitely better than me."

"Hey...don't say that. There's no man for me after you. I'm just gonna focus on my career..."

"Then maybe I'll run into you at a conviction someday. We'd go to the hotel bar, for old times' sake. Talk about our families, our jobs. Try to keep it professional."

"Because that always works so well for us. I bet we'd end up fumbling for our room keys while we make out in the hallway."

"I like this version of the future. The one where we end up together, no matter what."

Lee Know leans in, brushing his lips softly against mine. My heart flutters...

"I know I'm being greedy. Reckless. Insatiable."

His lips ghost against mine again, leaving me breathless.

"At least the boys are taken care of. Their legacy is secure...and that's what matters. And hey, Sofia is finally starting to get their names right, so maybe there's nope for her yet as a stepmother."

Lee Know shakes his head with a charmed grin.

"You care about others too much."

"You don't seem to mind when I care about you."

Lee Know threads his fingers into my hair, pulling me into a fierce kiss that deepens when I gasp.

 "We should...the others..."

But even as I try to remind myself that I'm in a bridal fitting room, with Lee Know's fiancée just down the hall, I find myself pulling him closer.

"Tell me to stop, and I will..."

 "Don't..."

I melt in his arms, my arms winding around Lee Know's neck so I can draw his body flush against mine. I back Lee Know against the bench and descend to my knees, unsheathing his length from his boxers.

 "Oh my God..."

I lower my mouth to envelop him, using my tongue to stroke him like I'm starving. Lee Know stifles a curse as his hands come to rest on my head. I smirk as I redouble my efforts, letting his moans guide me.

 "(Y/N)..."

"Shh...we have to be quiet, remember? "

 "I'm trying. You're making it impossible--Nggh! "

Lee Know cuts off as I swirl my tongue against him, skimming the tip of his length. His hips buck to my every touch. I look up at him and meet his eyes. Holding his gaze, I snake one hand down between my legs, under my clothes.

 "Oh God, are you..."

Lee Know's eyes widen as he realizes exactly what I'm doing.

 "(Y/N), I'm close--"

"How's everything going in there? "

The two of us freeze at the knock on the door.

 "Good! Just...finishing up."

I give Lee Know one more lick...then rise to my feet, mostly resisting the urge to smirk at Lee Know's choice of words.

"That's one way of putting it..."

"Don't hesitate to let us know if there's anything else you need."

 "I won't!"

Lee Know flashes me a rueful smile as he reaches for his clothes.

"I guess that's their not-so-subtle way of kicking us out for their next appointment."

"It's probably for the best. We're lucky we weren't interrupted sooner..."

"Maybe we'll just have to continue this later."

 "You wish."

 "...You're very right about that."

He finishes getting dressed, but pulls me into one last lingering kiss before we leave. Lee Know and I carefully slip out of the dressing room one at a time.

"Looks like the coast is clear." he says pulling my hand.

His phone buzzes in his pocket, and he glances at the message.

"Sofia says she needs some adjustments to her dress, so she's downstairs getting it fitted."

I nod and look around the store, taking in all the racks of tulle and chiffon.

"Do you need any help?" an associate asks.

"No, thank you. We're just...browsing." Lee know tells her.

The bridal associate looks between Lee Know and I, grinning.

"Bringing the future husband with you to buy your dress? Not many brides are as modern as you."

I slide my arm around Lee Know's waist and smile up at him.

"What can I say? I just want to make sure he really loves my dress."

To my surprise, Lee Know puts his arms around my shoulder and plays along.

"You know I'll love whatever you wear."

"You two are so sweet. Make sure you check out our displays in the back. That's where we keep the best stuff."

The bridal associate winks at me before disappearing to help another bride. I smirk at Lee Know as I lead him toward the back of the store. I run my hands over an off-white lace gown, trying my best to not picture wearing a wedding dress for Lee Know.

 "You'd look beautiful in that."

"I wish we were shopping together right now. Maybe then we could peruse the 'Wedding Night' section."

I gesture toward the lacy lingerie display in the back of the store.

"Is that...a paddle with word 'mine' engraved on it? I had no idea there was so much wedding-themed...paraphernalia in the world."

I cock an eyebrow at him and lift a green with black lace lingerie set from the closest rack.

I bet we could make pretty good use of this stuff together..."

Lee Know closes his eyes and swallows hard. I smirk when he finally looks at me again.

"(Y/N), it's not nice to tease."

"All I'm saying is, if we can't have a real wedding night, maybe we can have a fantasy one... Let me guess. You like garters and silk stockings?"

"Two for two, although I'd like you in anything you put on...or take off."

I glance toward the dressing rooms, then back at Lee Know with a scandalous glimmer in my eye.

"Come help me try it on? Just to make sure it fits, of course."

 "Of course."

I lead Lee Know into a smaller dressing room where we're unlikely to be interrupted. I push him toward the bench along the wall, then stand in the middle. I look him straight in the eye as I reach for the hem of my clothes. I lift it slowly, exposing my bare skin inch by inch.

 "This is torture."

Lee Know clenches his fists in his lap, clearly holding himself back from reaching for me.

"Yes, but I promise the prize will be worth the wait."

Finally, I step out of the last of my clothes and slip into the lingerie set. I look at myself in the mirror, adjusting the straps.

"Well? Does it live up to your imagination?"

"(Y/N)...you take my goddamn breath away."

He's standing behind me in an instant, meeting my gaze in the mirror as his chest presses into my back. His hands tiptoe down my arms as he kisses the side of my neck, then my shoulder.

 "Lee Know..."

His fingers explore my body, traveling forward until he cups my breasts, kneading gently. I arch into his touch, watching in the mirror. I can feel him growing harder against my ass as the heat pools in my center. I remember how limited my time is... I clear my throat to break the trance.

"Well, I hope you like this one, because I'm pretty sure I have to buy these panties now."

Lee Know all but growls as his fingers dip into my underwear to find me wet and ready.

 "You're dripping for me, (Y/N)..."

His other hand cups my cheek, guiding my lips back to his so he can capture my mouth in a hot kiss. I turn in his arms, getting lost in his passion again. Just then, I hear footsteps outside! We both spring apart, trying to catch our breath in silence as the footsteps continue down the hall.

 "That was close! "

Lee Know nods, straightening his clothes.

"You should get dressed. If you hand me the price tag. I'll go pay for it before we have any more interruptions."

I pull off the tag and hand it to Lee Know. He moves toward the door, but looks back at me before opening it.

 "Wear that tonight?"

 "Yes, sir."

I smile to myself as I pull my clothes over my new set of lingerie, then head out to meet the others. That evening, I'm putting the boys to bed after their bath. Mason snuggles up in my lap, resting his head on my shoulder.

"So, are you two excited for your dad to get married?"

 "I guess."

"I know it feels sudden, but they were already engaged. Now you two can embrace the change sooner rather than putting off the inevitable."

"If you say so." Mickey says.

"(Y/N), will you read to us before lights out?"

"Of course. We will have a few minutes before your dad says goodnight. Go pick out a book."

I watch as the two of them excitedly scramble out of the bed toward the bookshelf. Ten minutes later, I've just finished reading to the boys when Lee Know peeks his head in the room.

"Who's ready for some goodnight kisses?"

"Dad, we're not babies anymore. We don't need kisses."

"I'm gonna let you in on a little secret...you're never too old for kisses! "

Lee Know starts tickling Mickey, leaning in to plant smooches on his smiling face. I smile down at Mason and nudge his side playfully.

"I'll tickle your dad, you get your brother?"

 "You're on!"

The two of us join in fray, tickling our unsuspecting victims.

"Not--ahaha--fair! I'm gonna get you, Mason!"

"Nice try, (Y/N), but I'm not ticklish."

"Mmm, I think that just means I haven't found your weak spot yet."

Lee Know catches my wandering hands, his eyes flashing.

 "Yes, you have."

I let myself get lost in his gaze for a moment...until I feel little fingers run along my side!

 "Gotcha!"

 "No wait--hahahaha!"

Eventually, the four of us flop back on the bed, too laughed-out to tickle anymore.

"Alright, I think it's officially bedtime now."

"Which is my cue. I'll see you two in the morning."

I kiss Mason and Mickey's cheeks as they whisper goodnight to me. I head toward the hall, looking back as Lee Know tucks the covers around them.

 "Love you, Dad."

 "Love you more."

I turn from the happy scene, forcing myself to walk away. Later, long after everyone else has gone to bed, I've changed back into my new lingerie and are lounging on the bed. I hear a knock at my door.

 "Come in."

 "(Y/N)."

Lee Know stops at the foot of my bed, drinking me in.

 "What took you so long?"

"I'm sorry I kept you waiting. What can I do to make it up to you?"

"So I'm in charge tonight? In that case...I want you to touch yourself and talk dirt. I want you to prove how much I affect you."

Lee Know leans close, whispering in my ear.

"All it takes is one look, one sigh, one touch, for you to bring me to my knees...for you to make me hard and begging to be inside you..."

I shiver at his warm breath on my skin.

 "Ohhh...tell me more."

"I've been thinking about your little performance in the dressing room all day. The only thing keeping me going was that thought of tonight."

Lee Know slips one hand down into his pants, biting his lip as he touches himself.

"Nhnn...I don't know how much longer I can play these games, (Y/N)."

I reach out to tug on the hem of his shirt.

"Then let's get rid of these clothes."

I grab his shirt and tear it open, pausing to tease his chiseled abs with my tongue...

 "(Y/N)..."

I move down his body, quickly stripping away each article of clothing until he stands hot and bare before me.

"Ah, ah, ah. Not so fast."

Soon, I'm collapsing backward onto my bed as he crawls on top of me, pinning each wrist.

"Are you gonna be a good girl? Or do I have to keep you quiet?"

A thrill runs through me at the thought.

"You'll have to keep my quiet."

Lee Know's eyes darken, and my breath catches in my throat as I wait for his next move.

"Tell me if I go too far."

He kisses me sweetly before covering my mouth with his hand. I bite his palm lightly in response, and he smirks.

 "There's my naughty girl."

Lee Know kisses his way down my chest, teasing my nipples with his tongue until they peak for him. I tremble at the sensation of Lee Know thickening against me, his head teasing my entrance.

 "You ready for me?"

I nod enthusiastically, and Lee Know chuckles.

 "Maybe we should double check..."

Lee Know's fingers dip inside of me, and my back arches off the bedspread. Lee Know withdraws his fingers, and I can see my juices glistening on them...then he licks the tips.

 "Hmm, still not sure..."

I huff impatiently, feeling desperate...but my exasperation is quickly replaced by ecstasy as Lee Know slithers down to lick me directly. He laps at me over and over, pushing me to the brink...my hands scramble against the back of his head, trying to hold him close to me as I can until...

 "I can't wait anymore."

My lips find his as he covers my body with his, filling me completely. He thrusts into me again and again. I reel with each contact, my senses overloaded.

 "(Y/N), I'm...ohhhh..."

The pleasure looms inside of me, dragging me inexorably toward the edge.

 "Lee Know!"

Lee Know buries himself inside of me to the hilt, letting out a low, deep groan as he finds his own release.

 "...(Y/N)! "

Our bodies collapse against each other, spent but satisfied. After a moment, Lee Know kisses me gently before rolling off the bed to collect his clothes.

 "I wish you could stay."

"Me too. But we both know why that's be a bad idea."

I sit up in bed, adjusting the strap of my bra.

"You know what this means right?"

 "What?"

"You'll never know when I'm wearing this under my regular clothes, thinking of you..."

Lee Know's eyes darken as he stalks toward me until his lips are just a breath away from mine.

"I guess I'll have to manually check every day, then."

Without waiting for a response, he kisses me thoroughly. After leaving me breathless, he straightens and quietly moves to my door, disappearing into the darkness of the hallway like a thief in the night. Early the next morning, I pour myself a cup of coffee and take it outside, hoping to have a minute alone with my thoughts.

 "Good morning, (Y/N). Sleep well?"

I stop short at the sight of Sofia already on the patio, piles of paperwork in front of her. She clearly had an early start to her day...if she ever went to bed.

 "Sofia! You scared me."

"Seriously, you need to stop being surprised when you see me in my own home."

 "Right. Sorry."

Sofia waves away your apology as if it means nothing.

"I was hoping to run into you this morning. Turns out, my best friend won't be able to make the wedding on such short notice, thanks to her baby and all. So I was wondering... Will you be my maid of honor?"
