Chapter 2 - 2. Crisis and Self-Rescue

"!!?"

Wen Lin was startled.

Is there really trouble!?

He quickly rushed into the crowd, glancing back.

Wen Lin seemed to see several idlers who worked at nearby Martial Arts Centers chasing and fighting each other, holding wooden swords and wooden sticks used for practice at the Martial Arts Center.

Phew~

They weren't looking for him.

However, the eyes of those few people... seemed to be looking around for something?

Wen Lin instinctively darted into a nearby shop, using the shop's glass door and small ornaments as cover, turning sideways to observe those few people.

"classmate, classmate, what would you like to buy?"

A soft voice sounded behind him, and Wen Lin couldn't help but turn his head. A girl with a clear and beautiful face, wearing a light green dress, was looking at him with a slight blush.

Wen Lin was startled.

Beautiful woman = trouble!

He quickly scanned his surroundings. Besides him, there was only this girl, who seemed to be a shop assistant.

"!!"

This is like having wolves in front and tigers behind... huh?

Wen Lin's gaze swept over the items sold in the shop, his expression stiff for a moment.

"classmate, are you buying something for your girlfriend?"

Various sparkling small ornaments, hair clips, exquisite small Ornaments, dolls, pendants, fans, hats, and scarves were nothing, but why were there also... panties!?

Panicked!

But he tried his best to remain calm.

Those few people were approaching the shop. They seemed to be walking past outside. He quickly turned around, his back to the outside of the shop.

He pointed to a nearby item in front of him.

"How much is this bracelet?"

"This is our latest product, only 588! It's made of soft pink crystal, which young girls love most. We can also package it in a rose gift box, and the gift box is free..."

Wen Lin: "...Too expensive."

Wen Lin glanced outside. The people had moved a little further away, so he waved his hand and rushed out.

"We can give you a 10% discount! Or even a 15% discount!!"

The suddenly raised female voice behind him caught the attention of pedestrians a dozen steps away. Those few idlers looked over, and Wen Lin's heart sank.

Sure enough, he knew that beautiful women equaled trouble!

Those few people's eyes lit up and they walked towards him. Wen Lin knew almost without thinking that these people were probably coming for him.

It was even highly likely they would use the beautiful woman as an excuse to cause him trouble!

Should he stay and pay?

But if someone wants to cause trouble, even a glance at them can be an excuse.

Should he have a passionate fight?

Wen Lin's gaze swept over the wooden swords and wooden sticks in their hands. He immediately pretended not to see them, looking instead at a crowded area and waving, shouting in surprise:

"Teacher Zhang! I'm here!!"

This was a street near the school, so it was not strange for teachers to be around.

The beautiful shop assistant behind him was too embarrassed to continue bargaining and soliciting customers.

The few idlers also paused their steps.

In this era, the profession of a teacher was still respected.

Regardless of whether they taught liberal arts or Martial Dao, after all, no one knew if there were any successful and respectful big figures among the teacher's students.

Wen Lin ran directly to a crowded place.

He rushed in front of a middle-aged man who looked kind and gentle.

From the corner of his eye, he saw those few idlers stop not far away, seemingly hesitant.

"You are Teacher Zhang, right?"

"classmate, you've got the wrong person. My surname is Chen!"

The kind-looking middle-aged man's smile was also very gentle, just as Wen Lin imagined. In a public place, his voice was not loud, and his attitude was very good.

He had a teacher-like demeanor, and his reaction to Wen Lin's 'mistake' was very calm.

Wen Lin considered asking him for help for a moment.

But what was the reason?

Those few idlers didn't seem to have a very obvious aggressive attitude towards him.

Did they seem to want him to be 'accidentally' 'mistakenly injured'?

He was graduating in a few months.

If he was accidentally injured, it would be impossible for him to try to break through to the Martial Apprentice Seventh Stage in the last few months.

He didn't really care if he could break through to the Martial Apprentice Seventh Stage. What he cared about was... not wanting to be beaten, not wanting to be injured. He was afraid of pain... If he fought back and injured others?

With a criminal record, he would not be allowed to take the Martial Artist assessment for three years.

Or, run towards the school now, ask for help at the security office at the main gate, or even school teachers... But the direction where the idlers were was also the direction of the school.

His Martial Dao Cultivation was actually at the peak of Martial Apprentice Sixth Stage.

Only one step away from Martial Apprentice Seventh Stage.

He was in the upper-middle range in his class.

He was at a middle-level in the same grade throughout the school.

These idlers, each in their twenties, even if they had average talent and didn't specialize in Cultivating Martial Dao, still had at least the level of a Martial Apprentice of four or five stages.

The combat power difference in the Martial Apprentice stage was not significant.

Because the Martial Apprentice stage is about training strength!

An adult's strength is naturally stronger than that of an ordinary teenager.

He had just Transmigrated.

He wasn't even sure if he still had the body's memory of the basic strength-training Martial Arts that the Self had mastered.

And the Self had never fought... he only sparred with classmates, which was more like playing around.

"Sorry, Teacher Chen! You are also a teacher, right?" Wen Lin continued to interact with the middle-aged man surnamed Chen with an embarrassed expression, while also paying attention to his surroundings.

Especially the situation of taxis stopping at the intersection nearby.

When he saw a car stop and someone get out.

He bowed to the middle-aged man surnamed Chen and sincerely apologized, then darted into the taxi, closed the door, and said to the driver Uncle:

"Quick! To the Martial Dao Affairs Office! Go fast, double the meter!"

"Alright!"

The driver Uncle stepped on the accelerator, and the taxi sped away. Wen Lin looked back and saw those few idlers running a few steps in his direction.

It was too obvious!

They were indeed targeting him!

Wen Lin, expressionless, took out his mobile phone and made a few calls.

The sudden danger left him no time to dwell on the Transmigration or the two life memories crammed into one brain.

He focused on recalling the contents of this world.

He was Wen Lin!

Others wouldn't stop attacking him just because he had Transmigrated.

First, he had to find the reason for the danger and the targeting!

At the same time, he had to consider the order and laws of this world, which were the most important basis for ordinary people to protect themselves!

"Hello! Is this Uncle Dong? This is Wen Lin. Yes, yes, sorry to bother you, but I do have something. I turned 18 yesterday..."

"Hello! Is this Uncle Cao? This is Wen Lin. I'm 18..."

In a few minutes in the car, Wen Lin finished his calls, and the taxi also arrived outside the gate of the Martial Dao Affairs Office.

Although it was a bit of a detour.

But Wen Lin didn't mind.

This was a government agency; no idlers dared to cause trouble here.

Wen Lin paid double the metered fare without a word, and after the driver Uncle's enthusiastic offer of his phone number and farewell, he got out of the car and sat down at a cafe opposite the office.

The time he had arranged with the two uncles was 10:30 AM, and it was only 9:20 AM now.

He went to school early in the morning to test his Cultivation, starting at 8:10 AM and finishing around 9:00 AM. The efficiency was very high.

Students in the graduating class generally studied on their own.

Very few still insisted on going to school every day.

"One iced caramel latte, please!"

There were few people in the cafe. After all, it was only a little past 9 AM, which was working hours, and those slacking off had just clocked in and it wasn't time to sneak out yet.

After Wen Lin ordered his coffee.

He didn't pay much attention to the female cashier's appearance.

He walked directly to the small, few-square-meter open space on the left side of the cafe entrance, enclosed by greenery, squatted into a horse stance, and assumed a Martial Arts training posture.
