At night, on the largest mountain in Asgard, inside Odin's house, he sat on a primitive bed, thinking about the only way to know what his father wanted to warn him about.
He lay down on the bed and closed his eyes, using his prophetic power to know what would happen in the future. At first he did not see anything, but after some time, visions of the future came to him: a little girl playing on the mountain and exploring the place. She saw a cave in the mountain, and the cave was hidden and could only be seen if a person focused well. The girl was about to enter the cave and discover it.
The vision he saw was cut off, and he heard a strange voice, but familiar in a strange way, saying: "Odin… can you hear me?"
When Odin heard that, he said: "Who is speaking?"
The voice replied: "I am Asgard, Odin… I have come to warn you."
When Odin heard what was said to him, he was astonished; he did not expect that it was his father who spoke. So he said: "Father… is that you?"
The voice replied: "I do not have much time, Odin. Listen to me and understand what I am saying."
When Odin heard what the voice said, he knew something important was happening, so he said: "I'm listening, Father."
The voice said: "You and your brothers are in danger, Odin… beware of him, beware and do not lower your guard. He is awakening… he sensed my presence and will awaken soon, Odin. Do not let him destroy the island."
And when Odin heard what his father said, he did not understand and said: "Who will awaken, Father?"
When he said that, the voice said: "A child of the giants sleeping inside the mountain you live in, Odin… beware of him."
And when Odin heard that, he could not believe what he heard, and said: "Are there giants living inside the mountain, Father?"
The voice said after a long silence, as if exerting effort in every word: "Yes, Odin, there is a child of the giants inside the mountain, his body made of fire. He is one of the giants who were in the ancient myths, my son."
When Odin heard that, he was silent for a moment, then said: "What must I do then, Father?"
The voice said: "You must become stronger and finish the matter of the bloodline quickly, for the giant child will awaken soon, within a few years at most."
When the voice said that, Odin thought to himself that he must accelerate the matter of the bloodline, and said: "Then, Father, is he stronger than me and my brothers?"
When Odin said that, the voice said: "I cannot determine, Odin, but all I am sure of is that if you confront him now, you will lose greatly. And do not forget that you have not established your bloodline yet; you must be careful with your lives."
When he said that, Odin thought and was about to ask something, but the voice preceded him and said: "Listen to me carefully, Odin. I cannot help you with anything; I am now in a time of weakness. I am exerting great effort already just to speak with you and warn you, and soon I will sleep for a few years. I may be able to help you in the future, but for now you must depend on yourselves. Do not disappoint me."
When Odin heard the words and understood them, he felt within himself that he was about to wake up. Before he fully awakened, Odin said to his father: "Father, can I truly be the ruler over my brothers?"
Then he heard the voice reply in a majestic tone: "I have chosen you, Odin, and I never make mistakes."
When Odin heard that, he suddenly opened his eye, and the vision he saw and the voice he heard returned to him. He said to himself as he remembered what happened: "Should I leave the mountain with my brothers so we can be safe?"
When he said that, he remembered he was alone and no one was there to answer his question, but he remembered what the voice said when he asked if he deserved to be the ruler: "I have chosen you, Odin, and I never make mistakes."
When Odin remembered that, he smiled and said to himself: "I should not tell my brothers what happened, but I must make them alert and prepared for any danger, and we must finish the matter of the bloodline soon."
And when he thought about that, he remembered that female jinn slave who had been surrounded by the threads of fate, and he said to himself: "We must finish that first so that we are safe from death."
He looked at the sky through the window of his room and said: "I will discuss the matter with my brothers when morning comes."
From Asgard's perspective, when Odin awoke from the dream, the connection between him and his father was cut off. Zeus — who had become Asgard months ago — thought that everything has a price; and if he wanted to make the island his and achieve immortality, he had abandoned the possibility of communicating or moving anything as he had done before. However, thanks to his children, he could see through them, monitor them, and control them; but if he did that, it would endanger the core of his soul in Asgard.
Therefore, it took him a long time and great effort to enter Odin's dream. He wanted to enter the dreams of his other children, but that would take much longer, as they did not have Odin's prophetic talent. And when he thought about that, he remembered why he wanted to communicate with him.
When he became the island, or when everything on the island came under his control, he sensed a great danger there. And when he wanted to know the nature of the danger and focused, he sensed it as well, and then he knew what the threat to the island was: a child of the giants. And when he knew that, he was astonished by what he sensed.
He did not expect to see giants extinct long ago, for the race of giants had been wiped out by dragons thousands of years ago, and nothing had been heard of them since that time. In those days, no one knew what had happened except that the dragons had defeated the giant race and ruled the continent of Mira afterward.
He did not expect that the island he had chosen would have a child of the giants on it, but when he thought about it, he sensed a great opportunity. He had always eaten the souls of creatures and tried all types, except dragons, angels, and demons; he thought their souls would be strong on his body. But now, it was his soul that had become weak on his body.
He felt that he could not remain conscious for a long period. It is true that this is one of the drawbacks of transferring his soul to the island, but also because of the weakness of his soul, he thought that if his soul became stronger, he would be able to stay conscious for a longer time. True, he would also be in a state of slumber, but it would be shorter.
He also expected that if his soul grew larger, he would be able to do many things, but he did not yet know exactly what they were. And as he thought about that, his desire to absorb the soul of this child increased. True, the bloodline that fails to awaken its power and dies will become part of him and strengthen his soul, but that would take a lot of time to happen.
And as he thought, he sensed the effort he had exerted to warn Odin, and he knew he would sleep for several years, but his awareness would remain awake for any movement from the child or from Odin, to be ready for anything that might happen. And when he did that, he sank into a deep sleep from which he would not awaken except after a few years.
