Chapter 6 - COLD BLOOD

⭐ CHAPTER 11 — THE SILENCE THAT WALKS AHEAD (CONTINUED)

The ground shook.

Not from magic.

Not from an explosion.

From arrival.

A pressure descended on the academy courtyard so heavy that even the stars above dimmed. Mana currents twisted violently, alarms screaming across every tower.

Instructors froze.

Renox's smile vanished.

Shadow Xenon's cloak stopped moving.

Reflexo felt it first—his knees buckled slightly.

"This… isn't a beast," Zento whispered. "This is—"

A tear opened in the air.

Not a portal.

A wound.

From it stepped something that did not belong to the academy.

Seven figures emerged, floating inches above the ground. Their armor was ancient, cracked, engraved with symbols older than the Omniverse itself. Their eyes burned silver—empty, merciless.

Above them, a single word carved itself into reality:

EXECUTORS

Renox swore under his breath. "Oh… that's bad."

An instructor shouted, "ALL STUDENTS RETREAT! THIS IS NOT A DRILL!"

But it was already too late.

The lead Executor raised a hand.

The academy's defensive barrier—something built to withstand gods—

SHATTERED.

Like glass.

Panic erupted.

Students screamed. Some ran. Some collapsed. Some couldn't even move under the pressure.

Reflexo tried to summon light.

Nothing happened.

Kaiser's flames flickered weakly.

Zento's electricity died mid-spark.

"They're suppressing our power…" Reflexo said, voice shaking.

Renox clenched his fists. Blood magic crawled up his arms. "These things erase civilizations. You're not supposed to fight them."

One of the Executors spoke. Its voice echoed from everywhere and nowhere.

"Light anomaly confirmed."

"Fire anomaly confirmed."

"Lightning anomaly confirmed."

"Shadow anomaly—"

It paused.

Its head turned slowly.

Silver eyes locked onto Shadow Xenon.

For the first time, something changed.

"…Unregistered variable detected."

Shadow Xenon stepped forward.

Every instinct in Reflexo screamed at him to stop.

"Xenon!" Reflexo grabbed his arm. "This isn't a fight we can win!"

Shadow Xenon did not pull away.

He looked at the seven Executors.

Then he spoke—quietly, evenly.

"Winning is not the goal."

Reflexo froze.

Shadow Xenon continued walking.

"Survival is."

The lead Executor raised its weapon—a massive blade humming with void energy.

"Shadow anomaly. You will be erased."

Shadow Xenon stopped ten steps away.

He drew his sword fully this time.

The air screamed.

Shadows from every direction bent toward him, folding, compressing, obeying.

He spoke, voice cold enough to cut steel.

"You mistake silence for weakness."

The Executors attacked.

Reality broke.

The first strike vaporized half the courtyard. Reflexo was thrown backward, slamming into a wall. Kaiser crashed through a pillar. Zento skidded across the ground, barely conscious.

Shadow Xenon stood at the center.

Blocking.

Deflecting.

Moving with impossible precision.

He didn't overpower them.

He outthought them.

A blade passed through his shoulder—he didn't flinch.

A shockwave shattered his ribs—he didn't scream.

Void energy tore through his cloak—he didn't slow.

Blood hit the ground.

Shadow Xenon kept moving.

Reflexo forced himself up, tears burning his eyes. "Why won't you fall?!"

Shadow Xenon spoke without looking back.

"Because if I fall…"

He parried three strikes at once.

"…they die."

Kaiser roared, forcing fire back into existence. "LIKE HELL I'M LETTING YOU DO THIS ALONE!"

Zento screamed, electricity tearing through his veins. "WE FIGHT TOGETHER!"

They charged.

They were crushed instantly.

The Executors barely noticed.

Reflexo crawled, light flickering weakly around his hands. "This is impossible… we're going to lose…"

Shadow Xenon heard him.

He turned his head slightly.

Even behind the mask, Reflexo felt his gaze.

"Then lose standing."

The lead Executor pierced Shadow Xenon through the chest.

The sword came out the other side.

The world went silent.

Reflexo screamed.

Shadow Xenon coughed blood.

Still standing.

He grabbed the Executor's blade with his bare hand.

Shadow energy wrapped around his arm like chains.

"Remember this," Shadow Xenon said, voice shaking but unbroken.

"Power does not answer desperation."

He pulled himself closer to the Executor.

"It answers resolve."

He detonated every shadow he had.

The explosion didn't destroy the Executors.

But it pushed them back.

Just enough.

Renox seized the moment, slamming his hands into the ground. "NOW! MOVE!"

A massive emergency portal opened.

Instructors dragged students through. Kaiser and Zento were pulled in, screaming Shadow Xenon's name.

Reflexo refused to leave.

He ran to Shadow Xenon, catching him as he collapsed to one knee.

"Why?" Reflexo cried. "Why would you throw your life away?!"

Shadow Xenon leaned against him, blood soaking Reflexo's cloak.

His voice was barely above a whisper.

"Because someone has to show them…"

He looked up at the Executors regrouping.

"…that we do not break easily."

Reflexo felt something ignite inside him.

Not fear.

Not anger.

Purpose.

The portal began to close.

Reflexo dragged Shadow Xenon with everything he had.

The last thing the Executors saw—

Was Shadow Xenon staring back at them.

Unafraid.

Unyielding.

Promising.

"This isn't over," he whispered.

The portal snapped shut.

Silence returned to the academy.

And somewhere deep in the Omniverse—

The Executors marked a name.

SHADOW XENON — PRIORITY THREAT
