This story was written with a very generic opening influenced by a lot of other stories I've enjoyed over the years.
It may seem familiar because of that. I wanted to jump into the genre with both feet while trying to make something more... me.
As such, the story will most likely go in directions you don't expect despite the very generic beginning.
