Chapter 4 - Chapter 4: Kiana: Even After Turning Into a Deadwalker, You’re Still Cute

Watching Bailu disappear around the street corner, Levi closed the door and looked at the few medicine bottles quietly standing on the table.

His heart was full of gratitude toward Bailu.

Back when he was still a patient, it was extremely difficult for him to earn credit points, and he simply didn't have enough to pay.

If Bailu hadn't helped him for free with treatment and mixing new medicine, his Honkai disease would've probably already spread from his arm to his whole body by now.

He wouldn't have had many days left to live.

So Levi was grateful to Bailu from the bottom of his heart.

"I'll repay her when I get the chance."

According to the original storyline, the dragon master who taught Bailu wasn't a good person at all.

Levi shook his head. These weren't things he needed to consider right now. First, he should deal with the Honkai disease.

Walking out the door, Levi planned to use the credit points he'd earned from Silver Wolf to buy some breakfast.

Just like the mornings in the world before he transmigrated, the shops on both sides of the road were up early making breakfast, simply waiting for customers to come.

Levi casually ordered a breakfast for one, but when he was about to pay, his phone showed payment failed.

"..."

Levi fell silent. "Sorry, I don't want this breakfast anymore!"

Luckily, Levi had the habit of paying before eating, so he wasn't put into the embarrassing situation of finishing his food and being unable to pay.

Back home, he opened his phone and saw the latest message from the company. Levi couldn't help but laugh.

"We discovered an abnormality in your account data. We are now taking emergency freezing measures."

"Data abnormality? My account only has a bit over twenty thousand credit points, and you tell me it's abnormal!"

Levi let out an incredulous laugh. It's not like he was some universe-level rich man overflowing with money. Frozen? Let it freeze.

It's not like he was lacking credit points.

He was just a normal broke guy, and now that he finally managed to earn some credit points for once, the company froze him instantly.

If it had been the Levi of yesterday, he probably would've had to ask his good brother Qingque for a loan to get through the day.

But now, after farming gold off Silver Wolf, Levi was no longer that weak little chicken.

Pulling out the chair in front of the terminal, his fingers began flying across the keyboard.

The information streams he couldn't understand before now looked as simple as elementary-school knowledge to him.

He didn't even need to think to understand what they meant.

"So this is Silver Wolf's hacking ability… it's a bit terrifyingly strong."

Looking at the successfully infiltrated company backend, Levi didn't waste time and immediately got to work.

First he unblocked his own account, then added it into the whitelist to hide it, preventing re-checks.

After that, he set up a few little tricks.

Once he finished everything, Levi wiped the traces he left behind and exited the company's backend system.

Closing the computer, he looked at the newly unfrozen account on his phone, his mood bright.

While invading the system, he had also discovered that there really was a data anomaly in his company account.

If nothing unexpected happened, it was Silver Wolf's doing.

Maybe those twenty thousand credit points didn't come from her own account, but were gathered from tens of thousands of other accounts.

That was probably why Levi's account had triggered the company system's detection and got frozen.

Levi stretched, preparing to go out again and enjoy breakfast.

[White Hair Dumpling: @Everyone! Emergency! There's a Honkai eruption in Nagazora City, I'm trapped here right now!]

The chat group suddenly popped up in front of him. This was the first message from Kiana since her disappearance.

Looking at the message, Levi touched his chin. 'A Honkai outbreak in Nagazora… judging from this, her current timeline should be the Third Eruption.'

[Ding! Detected help request from 'White Hair Dumpling'. Chat group mission issued!]

[Escape from Nagazora City!]

[Description: The Honkai and its apostles have descended upon Nagazora City, and at this moment, 'White Hair Dumpling' is inside the city! At the center of this storm, she is in constant danger. Please help 'White Hair Dumpling' escape Nagazora City!]

Kiana was hiding on a rooftop, wiping the blood from her face with clean clothes. The baseball bat she'd brought upstairs was already broken and abandoned in a corner.

Behind her, the tightly locked door kept thudding with loud bang bang bang sounds, accompanied by the roars of Deadwalkers.

Kiana wanted to curse. She was just trying to find her dad, so why did she suddenly run into a Honkai outbreak?

The world was so big, and there were plenty of cities larger than Nagazora.

Why did it have to erupt here of all places?

Seeing a strange new avatar appear in the chat group, Kiana realized that someone had joined.

To avoid wasting the newcomer's time, Kiana quickly explained.

[White Hair Dumpling: Honkai is…]

[Yang Sitting-Up: I know what Honkai is, no need to explain. (Attached: picture of arm corrosion)]

When she saw the image Levi posted, Kiana froze. She really hadn't expected to meet someone from the same world in this group.

[Yang Sitting-Up: If there's treatment medicine, remember to get me a bottle. @White Hair Dumpling @Miss Pink Fairy.]

[Miss Pink Fairy: Why are you coming to me? I don't have any Honkai here.]

Levi paused. [Do you have a Nagazora City there?]

[Yeah, but that has nothing to do with Honkai…]

[If you have that, then you have Honkai. It just hasn't erupted yet, or it's being hidden so normal civilians won't notice!]

Elysia's fingers froze. Looking at Levi speaking with such certainty felt surprisingly convincing, and her emotions became very complicated.

First, because his confidence made her feel like Honkai really did exist in her world.

Second, she didn't want to believe her world would have something as supernatural as Honkai.

'This is just my ordinary everyday world, how could there be Honkai?!'

[White Hair Dumpling: This isn't the time to talk about that!]

Kiana leaned her body hard against the metal door behind her, but the number of Deadwalkers attracted there kept increasing.

The force pressing against the door was getting stronger and stronger, and Kiana was about to lose her grip.

If the door was smashed open now, the swarm of Deadwalkers might tear her to shreds.

If they were just ordinary low-level Deadwalkers, she wouldn't be afraid.

If she can't beat them, she can at least run, right?

But in the group outside, there were also higher-level Deadwalkers, the kind that shouldn't appear in the "beginner stage."

Those twin blades, plus the teleport-like movement… they could slice Kiana, who had lost her weapon, clean in half within seconds.

"This is not the time for chit-chat! Your cute group leader is about to die! Whoever can help, hurry and accept the mission!"

Kiana couldn't help yelling.

[Accept the mission!]

Levi's eyes lit up. Someone like Kiana, a heroine with huge plot destiny, surely the system wouldn't teleport him over with his physical body, right?

After a slight hesitation, Levi decisively accepted the chat group mission.

"Done! The bold eat their fill, the timid starve!"

Resolute expression on his face, either lose everything, or win everything.

"Hurry up and get over here!!!"

Kiana braced her feet against the ground, her pretty face twisted from exertion.

"I'm already here~"

A flash of light appeared, Elysia materialized and greeted Kiana with a smile.

Kiana's face brightened. "Did you bring any equipment?!"

"I did~"

Elysia pulled out the Holy Sword of Physics, waved it twice, then said, "I had a hard time borrowing this from my neighbor."

Kiana fell silent. If she remembered correctly, Elysia was supposed to be an ordinary person.

She thought Elysia would bring some heavy weaponry, but instead… she brought a stick?

"What's wrong?" Elysia asked, confused.

Kiana replied, "Nothing… Don't worry. I remember that when you turn into a Deadwalker, your appearance doesn't change."

"You'll still be just as cute as you are now."

"Huh?"
