Chapter 57 - Run

How did he know? Was he stalking me?

The questions pounded in my head like a drum as I stood frozen in the dimly lit back room of the restaurant. The air felt thick, suffocating, and every instinct screamed at me to run. But Silas was blocking my way.

"Why do you look so surprised?" Silas said, his voice low and mocking. He stepped closer, his broad frame blocking me "Did you think I would never find out? Did you think that I wouldn't know that you were selling yourself as a slut to everyone?"

"Silas—" My voice cracked, barely above a whisper.

He shut me up with an aggressive kiss. It felt so disgusting, nothing like when Kasteil kissed me. Kasteil's kisses had been warm, possessive in a way that made my knees weak with want. This... this was invasion. Silas's mouth crushed against mine, hard and demanding, his lips bruising. His breath reeked of cheap liquor and something sour, like rot.
