Chapter 12 - The Warning

The Alpha heir didn't request. He commanded.

Darius pulled me into the empty classroom and shut the door behind us. The click of the lock sounded too loud in the sudden silence.

I yanked my wrist free from his grip. "You can't just drag me around whenever you feel like it."

"We need to talk."

"You keep saying that. But talking requires actually listening, which you've never been good at."

He flinched slightly at that. Good. Maybe it was petty, but I wanted him to feel at least a fraction of the hurt he'd caused me.

The classroom was one of the older ones, with wooden desks and dusty windows that let in weak afternoon light. No one used this building much anymore, which was probably why Darius had chosen it.

Privacy.

My wolf stirred uneasily. Being alone with our mate in an enclosed space made her restless. Made the bond hum louder, pulling at both of us.
