Chapter 4 - 4. “If you’re a man, then come fight me! But I’m a girl though”

How long had it been since she last left the house?

Hua Xin wrapped her arms under the slime plush pressed against her stomach, seriously pondering that question.

Other than being forced to go out for the college entrance exam two months ago, she had apparently spent the past five years entirely in this tiny room.

Going outside…

The moment she thought of it, Hua Xin shivered.

On the exam day, seeing sunlight for the first time in forever plus her fear of the outside world caused her to refuse taking a taxi just to avoid talking to people. Instead, she blindly followed navigation.

And in her panic, she typed "No. 14 High School" instead of "No. 4 High School," her actual test site. With her head down the whole walk, she didn't even notice the mistake on the signs.

She almost failed her exams because of that.

Thankfully, she barely managed a score of 600, then casually chose a major she could slack off in.

The forum bros strongly recommended Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or Computer Science — but those were definitely a pass.

So only one correct answer remained:

Business Administration 😋.

Still thinking about her current situation, Hua Xin seriously clicked open the League of Legends client — planning to queue up for a joyful ARAM match.

Her daily necessities and even bottled water and takeout were all bought online. Clothes, internet bills, utilities — all handled online.

Deliveries were always left at the door.

She could cook, so starvation wasn't a threat.

She just got her ID this year… which meant… she still had ten years before it expired!

Realizing this, Hua Xin's eyes lit up. She slammed the crappy-brand mouse on the mousepad.

No need to worry at all!

Ten whole years before she becomes "undocumented," and if she never goes out, she'd never have to face that problem anyway!

So what if she becomes undocumented? Heh!

As long as she stays indoors, she'll never be undocumented!

Hua Xin relaxed into her chair. It used to creak in protest but was eerily silent now.

Crisis resolved. Meow.

The mouse was still sturdy and moved smoothly. As the cursor slid across the screen, she noticed someone in her friend list.

"Love Killing Supports" – Rank: Grandmaster

Then she looked at her own ID.

"Invincible Cat Punch" – Rank: Diamond

Her mouth twitched. She gritted her teeth, grabbed her phone and opened a chat box — starting a fatherly greeting:

"Son, you actually reached Grandmaster? How much did you pay boosters?"

"If you don't have the skill, don't pretend. You'll just drop back down."

"Listen to your dad — play with your real ability. Otherwise, how are you different from a cheater?"

"Only losers cheat. Don't tell me you're also…?"

Her lips curled upward as she launched her final attack:

"🤣👉🏻🤡"

"🖕🏻"

Ahhhh that felt so freaking good…

She waved her little fists in the air, celebrating her spiritual victory.

Ten seconds later…

She collapsed like someone who'd just lost all strength, a light sheen of sweat on her beautiful fair face.

No way…

Her lifestyle was terrible — day-night reversed, eating "perfect" junk daily — but her body shouldn't be this weak, right?

She remembered what she did earlier in bed… and her "exceptional talent"… instantly understanding the cause of her current state. Silence.

Her "little buddy" had run away — a fact she could never undo. She only had herself to blame for years of abuse. It wasn't his fault.

Sigh…

Actually… turning into a girl wasn't that bad?

Hua Xin suddenly figured it out.

She loved feeling pleasure anyway — and now there was no cooldown, and startup time was super short. She could basically stay in cloud nine as long as she wanted.

Whether male Hua Xin or female Hua Xin —

as long as she's a shut-in Hua Xin, that's a good Hua Xin!

And…

She opened the camera and admired her reflection.

Cold fair skin, soft rosy cheeks, delicate lashes like vines, beautifully shaped brows, clear bright eyes…

In short —

a once-in-a-million-years stunning beauty.

Even better than influencers with heavy makeup and filters — a complete dimensionality reduction attack.

Her face still resembled her old male self by about sixty percent.

She used to look androgynous — almost feminine — only her height was unusually tall.

She used to be 182cm.

Now? Maybe around 170cm…

She couldn't even imagine how she'd look with some light makeup, wearing a seductive outfit or cosplay, dancing provocatively…

Her phantom limb reacted.

Face flushed, she lowered the phone.

She'd absolutely obliterate all internet influencers.

She'd never have to worry about money again — not just a dream!

But imagining people calling her "my waifu" while she posed seductively online…

She immediately rejected the idea.

Anyway, she wasn't short on money now.

If she ever went broke, then she could consider falling from grace.

"In conclusion… becoming a girl isn't bad at all!"

She lifted her head from the loss of her "little buddy," her airy voice filled with confidence.

The undocumented issue solved —

and the most important matter solved too.

"If I can't change it…"

"Then I'll eat instant noodles! 🤤"

Hua Xin happily grabbed a random tub from the wall-sized instant noodle stash:

"Old Tan Sauerkraut…"

"Nice, you're the chosen one!"

Humming cheerfully, her pale pink bare feet stepped on the floor as she walked to boil water.

Bzzz.

"Huh?"

As she returned to the chair to wait, she noticed her phone lighting up — her heart skipping in fear and excitement.

Fear: someone from real life messaging her.

Joy: someone online messaging her.

She picked up her phone. The remark under the penguin icon read clearly:

"#1 Son of the Internet"

The avatar — a beautiful white ragdoll cat.

"Diamond noob saying grapes are sour — typical."

"Be good. Go play ARAM."

She was furious.

Her cheeks visibly turned pink — overheating.

⚠️ WARNING ⚠️

Her fingers flew across the screen, anger filling her eyes.

"Give me your address! I'll beat the crap out of you!"

"Don't you dare chicken out! If you're a man, prove it!"

But then she froze at the reply:

"Building 3, Room 401, Luoka Town, Huafeng Street, Yongji District, Shanghai."

"If you're a man, come."

Bro…

You seriously sent your address…

I wasn't actually going to fight you…

She sent a middle finger emoji and turned off her phone.

One minute later—

Something felt off. Hua Xin's eyes sparkled. She slapped her thigh in realization:

"I'm a girl now."

"I don't have to go."
