"I was caught sleeping with a nobleman's wife." Mare said while smiling. After hearing this, Nox was quite surprised, Mare who was this strong could be overly cheerful, but was he imprisoned because of something like this? These thoughts were passing through Nox's mind at that moment. When Nox didn't say anything for a few seconds and just stared with surprised eyes, Mare spoke, "Hey hey my friend, I liked hanging out with women… But that day I went a bit too far, because the woman really did seduce me, she was very beautiful… Even though I knew she was a nobleman's wife, I slept with her, actually… I was bored, I knew I would go to prison. My purpose, on the other hand, despite everything I've said, is one single, fixed thing…" After Mare said these things with great excitement and confidence at the same time, Nox was truly impressed, he had already listened to what Mare said very carefully. After Mare's words, Nox spoke, "What is your purpose?" he asked.
After taking a deep breath, Mare answered, "To be happy, until I die." After these, Nox spoke, "I understand, you really gained something, from books… Thank you for what you said, you really say logical things." he said. Mare smiled and replied in a boastful manner, "Of course!" After that they chatted a bit and played with playing cards, they spent a quite normal day and eventually dinner time came, dinner was being brought to the rooms, since in the evening hours it would be more logical not to take the prisoners outside their rooms, this path was being followed. After some time passed, the hour approached night and both of them lay down on their beds to sleep… Nox was just about to fall asleep and noticed something, Mare who had been snoring every time he fell asleep since yesterday was not snoring right now. Nox didn't dwell on it too much, because they had just met anyway, maybe it was a normal situation… Nox tried to sleep for a few minutes, and when he finally couldn't sleep, he got out of his bed and started to walk a bit, as always he was angry, according to what Mare said, Nox was living, fully so, because his new purpose was to kill Akuon's brother… Even though there was great anger inside him, as Nox slowly understood that reflecting this outward would be of no use, he was managing to hold himself as long as he wasn't triggered. After walking a bit, Nox returned to his bed, but just as he was about to lie down, Mare not snoring really felt strange to him and without waiting he stepped on the rung and saw Mare lying down with his eyes closed, he was breathing. Nox quietly called out to Mare, "Mare." he said. When no answer came, he said it again, when there was still no answer he nudged Mare with his hand… Mare was not waking up, Nox sensed danger, Nox sensed danger around Mare, and also that something was going wrong, Nox was not wrong in these strong instincts… Because Mare was not opening his eyes, even someone in deep sleep would wake up to this much nudging and sound, there was something strange. While Nox was holding Mare by the shoulders and shaking him, he noticed something under the pillow… A syringe.
After seeing the syringe, Nox fully understood that something was wrong and ran to the guards at the door and shouted, "One of the prisoners has fainted, there's a syringe next to him! Do something!" Nox was worried, but his curiosity about what was happening was also quite high. When they heard that a prisoner had fainted, the guards wanted to call a nurse but at this hour one nurse had gone home, the other nurse was just on her way, meaning that right now there was only the doctor in the infirmary. Because of this, two of the guards entered and carried Mare, they took him to the infirmary.
IN THE INFIRMARY
The guards knocked on the door that said "Infirmary", they did not allow Nox to come, after all he was also a prisoner. With a sleepy voice the doctor said, "What is happening at this hour?" the doctor was also just about to leave to sleep, after this question of the doctor the guards shouted, "Someone has fainted, it's like an emergency!" and the doctor suddenly came to himself, got up and opened the door himself. When the doctor opened the door, the person he saw in front of him was the fainted Mare… It shocked the doctor, the doctor froze for a moment and started thinking to himself, "He had been taking the medicine without drawing attention for weeks… How was it noticed now?" after thinking these, the doctor quickly came to himself and said, "Lay him here, I'll take a look." calmly, a third guard came behind them and with a syringe in his hand asked the doctor, "What is this syringe, doctor?" and extended his left hand holding the syringe toward the doctor. When the doctor saw the syringe in the guard's hand, he entered great stress for a moment, swallowed hard, tried to calm himself and cleared his throat by coughing, then slowly, without breaking his calm, spoke, "I told him to use the syringe before sleeping, of course if he used it on an empty stomach it's normal for him to faint, so it's nothing important." the doctor said in a professional manner, after that the guard in front of him, without questioning the doctor too much, gave the syringe to the doctor and went to the infirmary door, while the doctor was taking care of Mare one of the guards spoke, "Oh by the way, this prisoner was noticed by another prisoner, he tried to wake him while the fainted prisoner was lying on his bed, and when he didn't wake up he realized that he had fainted." said the guard. After hearing these, the doctor suddenly paused, after thinking a bit, with a polite but quite serious tone of voice, "Could you bring him here?" he said.
