Chapter 243: The Clear Sky Sect Accepts the Blood Demon Ritual
"Second Elder, the Clear Sky Sect has been sealed off from the world for too long. The soul master world outside has changed."
"Now, the Spirit Hall alone dominates the continent. The current Pope, Bibi Dong, is far more ambitious and powerful than Qian Xunji ever was. It's only a matter of time before she seeks control beyond Spirit City."
"The Heaven Dou Emperor has already reached the level of Titled Douluo. You may think little of it, but the truth is—his breakthrough came from this so-called forbidden technique," Tang Hao said, producing the Blood Demon Ritual scroll he had obtained from Yu Yuanzhen before arriving at the Clear Sky Sect.
When the elders heard this, several faces changed dramatically. They all knew Emperor Xue Ye's aptitude; even before the sect secluded itself, they had observed him. Someone like him breaking through on his own had always been impossible.
Yet now, with the help of a single technique, he had done it.
"Second Elder, I understand your concern for the sect's reputation," Tang Hao continued, "but this Blood Demon Ritual is unlike any other dark art."
"It gains power by offering flesh and blood to the Primordial God. The soul power obtained is pure, unmarred by the corruption typical of evil soul masters who directly devour flesh. It grants strength without affecting one's sanity."
As Tang Hao elaborated, hesitation flickered in the Second Elder's eyes.
If the Blood Demon Ritual truly lacked the drawbacks of traditional forbidden techniques, it would be a supreme secret art—perhaps even surpassing the Clear Sky Sect's Great Sumeru Hammer or Ring Detonation.
Seeing the elder soften, Tang Hao pressed on.
"It isn't just the Heaven Dou royal family," he said. "The Blue Lightning Tyrant Dragon Clan is also cultivating through the Blood Demon Ritual. By relying on it, in a few short years their strength will surge. They could even surpass the Clear Sky Sect."
That last statement hit like a hammer-blow. The Second Elder drew a long breath before taking the scroll from Tang Hao's hands.
The other elders remained silent.
Though the sect had been secluded, its pride had never faded.
The title of Number One Sect in the World belonged to the Clear Sky Sect—and it would remain theirs at any cost.
Gathering around the elder, the others studied the scroll with curious and cautious expressions.
"Tang Hao," the Second Elder asked, "is this 'Primordial God' truly a deity?"
Tang Hao nodded, then hesitated. "I don't know much about the Primordial God myself. But Yu Yuanzhen's son, Yu Xiaogang, was the first to make contact. This Blood Demon Ritual was a gift passed directly from that god to him."
"Yu Xiaogang? You mean that man who never rose past the twenty-ninth level?" the Second Elder asked with a frown.
"Yes," Tang Hao confirmed. "But he's no longer at that stage. He's already reached the Spirit Ancestor level—and is almost a Spirit King now."
The Second Elder fell silent, staring at the scroll in his hands.
The Clear Sky Sect had a secret few knew—a generation ago, the Haotian Douluo Tang Chen had vanished. In truth, he had been chosen by a god.
Before leaving, Tang Chen had confided that he was undertaking the divine trial. If he succeeded, he would become a god himself. If he failed, he might never return.
The Second Elder still remembered those words vividly.
He didn't know which god had summoned Tang Chen, but he was certain about one thing—gods did exist.
And now, another possible link to a divine being sat before him.
Could this be another divine test?
"Right now," Tang Hao continued, "only the Blue Lightning Clan, the Heaven Dou royal family, and I know of this Blood Demon Ritual. Yu Xiaogang has even established a hidden Primordial God Cult outside, though he's kept the ritual itself secret."
"Through this power, they seek to invite the Clear Sky Sect to join them—to form an alliance strong enough to challenge the Spirit Hall."
Tang Hao's tone was passionate, his words deliberate, portraying the Spirit Hall as a force of tyranny.
The Second Elder felt himself wavering—and more importantly, drawn by the allure of the ritual's power.
"Tang Hao," he said finally, "as for the alliance, we will discuss it further. But first, we must test this Blood Demon Ritual ourselves—to ensure it doesn't harm the practitioner."
He spoke with firm conviction, and one by one, the other elders nodded. Even the Seventh Elder, who had previously despised Tang Hao and Tang San, fell silent.
Before overwhelming power, pride and prejudice alike could easily be cast aside.
Seeing the Second Elder accept the scroll, Tang Hao exhaled quietly. His mission was complete.
As he turned to leave, the Second Elder's voice stopped him. "Tang Hao—you and Tang San will remain in the sect for now. In a few days, we'll reconvene to discuss your reinstatement."
Tang Hao froze. For a long moment, he said nothing, then his eyes gleamed with unshed tears.
It had been so many years wandering in exile. He had dreamt countless times of returning to his home.
He never expected forgiveness—he had accepted long ago that he was the sect's sinner, responsible for its isolation and losses.
This time, he had come not to plead for acceptance, but simply to bring the Blood Demon Ritual.
Yet now… they were letting him stay.
At last, a faint smile formed on his lips as emotion welled in his chest.
The Second Elder watched silently, expression unreadable, before turning away.
Once the elders had left, Tang Xiao approached his brother. "Congratulations, Hao. It seems the elders have forgiven you."
Tang Hao blinked, then nodded, a rare smile appearing. "Brother!"
"Come," Tang Xiao said warmly. "It's been too long. Let me show you around the sect—you should see how it's changed."
Side by side, the two brothers walked away, their laughter echoing faintly down the hall.
Only Tang San and Tang Yuehua remained.
Tang San stood there, confused. He had come to the Clear Sky Sect broken and humiliated, branded a bastard by the elders—and yet his father seemed to have forgotten him entirely in his joy.
He didn't even know how to feel.
Tang Yuehua glared at him briefly, then turned to leave as well.
When Tang Hao revealed the Blood Demon Ritual earlier, she had felt dread coil in her chest. The moment the Second Elder accepted it, her heart sank.
Tang Hao had spoken as though the ritual were a divine gift rather than a forbidden art.
But to her, any method that required flesh and blood to gain strength was undeniably evil.
She had wanted to stop them—but within the sect, she held no real authority. She managed Yuexuan and procurement, nothing more. Her words would carry no weight here.
All she could do was silently pray that the Clear Sky Sect would not destroy itself for this dangerous power.
