~~~Author here, I'm sorry for not posting the chart that I was talking about. Some stuff came up and it stopped me from charting everything out. I'll start making it this week while uploading so hopefully it'll be out by Saturday.~~~
Arriving back to class I listened the the teacher as he spoke. After not even an hour I was fighting to stay awake, the monotony of the subjects he taught coupled with my overall lack of interest in anything Mr.Hiroto said caused my eyes to go heavy. To stop myself from falling asleep I pinched my inner thigh hard in order to jolt myself wake. Realizing that this was not a permanent solution I decided to start scrolling through my system one more in hopes that it'll be more intresting that what Mr.Hiroto was teaching.
My eyes while studying the system consistently fell on the trials tab, I tried to find information on it but no matter what I did I wouldn't tell me what this tab does. I could understand that its a trial, it's in the name after all but I have no clue on anything other than that. It doesn't tell me how the trials work, what my opponents would be, or what the rewards are. With a sigh of resignation I turned my attention to the locked mobile suits, looking at this panel I couldn't help but feel a twinge of exasperation as I navigated these tab.
Unlike before with the trials tab I could see that some mobile suits had special ability attached too it which while convenient the fact that there was no way to identify how many system points they costed. This system felt so half-assed it feels like the ROB did this on purpose almost... almost like there's a bunch of holes that could be filled in later in life for plot purposes. Nah, it's not like my life's a story made for entertainment or something like that. Right? Nah, definitely not, the ROB's probably just updating my system on the fly or something, probably to help depending on what world I'm or something like that.
After getting over my mild sense of existential crisis I went back to looking at the mobile suits and saw that on top of their special ability's certain mobile suits and different variations. Selecting the RX-78-2 I saw that there were four variants two of which had ability's. The first being Amuro's RX-78-2, then there was the gundam gquuuuuux's, next then was Chars RX-78-2 with it's ability's being that It can, granted with extreme effort and risk to the user stabilize a collapsing universe and It also came equipped with bits to use, then finally there was Shuji Itō's version which would allow me to create a larger version of myself from my the newtype's psychic power along with the ability to travel worlds that I have a anchor in.
As I looked I saw that this variation feature was extreamly present within the mass produced models. I continued browsing the system trying to get more information when suddenly I heard the sound of the school bell, looking up I saw that the time was already 3:30 in the afternoon and school just officially finished. Wasting no time for idle chatter I took out the note from ROB as I rushed out of school. On the back of the note there was a home address along with written instructions on how to get there from school. Following the instructions I soon arrived to my home. It was a nice little one story house that was about 10 minuets away and Once I got inside I saw that it was completely furnished.
As I walked around the house I found another letter sitting upon the counter. I approached the letter and soon started reading it, and after only a couple of lines I confirmed my suspicions that it was indeed a letter from ROB. "Dear Heero, How you doing? how was your first day? Kidding, no need to answer I could see your life before even got a chance to life it out. Now the reason for this letter other than to inform you that your panic session was hilarious was to give you a bit more information about your system. I'm sure that you saw how vague and kinda incomplete it was right? Well yes I did that on purpose, you see as you grow stronger and experience different worlds, somethings just won't be compatible with the system as it was given to you so I made it capable of adaptation."
"Another thing that you probably noticed is that there's not a clear cut measurement for how strong you are and that's simply cause I don't want you to play a numbers game and only fight if you can win. So as a result of this it's up to you to decide if your strong enough for a certain mobile suit, simply put you can buy them but if your not strong enough you can tell when you fail to use them. Now for the last thing about the system I wanted to talk to you about are the trials. These trials will limit the strength of your choice of mobile suits by assigning which ones you can use. After each trial you can unlock a mobile suit of your choice. Now to stop you from choosing overpowered ones of the get go is I put in a little safety measure. That safety measure is very simple, if you don't get something that matches the same difficulty of the trial you will have to fight the mobile suit you got with the one you beat the level with."
"So in short and simple terms, if you in a ball beat a zaku then you can purchase anything on the zakus power level for free. But if you try to buy the unicorn then, while you technically have the unicorn unlocked you have to beat it with the ball first before you can use it. Makes sense? Good, now on the back of this card you'll see see a debitcard and bank information on it. This card is capped at $500,00 a year and will refresh back to 500,000 every year, and as a bonus It'll work in any world. Now everything that I gave you did have a cost as sucky as it may seem. The cost is that you will now be my champion, you will fight for me in my name against other avatars. However, this wont be till very far in the future. Now with this information I wish you good luck and to grow strong. Much love (whenever I feel like it) ROB."
Looking at this sheet of paper an undeniable rage swept through me. "He's using me!!! That @#$%&!, who does he think he is!!! I'm his avatar just cause I took his gifts?! That's some bull....." After several minutes of raging and ranting I finally calmed down. Looking at the letter another wave of annoyance surged through me. Taking a deep breath I slowly exhaled, I acknowledged that what he did is beyond messed up but there was nothing I could do. "I'm going to be fighting for as some sort of higher being as a avatar, and in the future I'm going to fight for my life on behalf of someones name I don't even know.... this sucks."
After several minutes I unwillingly came to terms about being forced into this position. "I'm going to need to get stronger and fast if I want any chance of surviving." With these thoughts in mind and understanding of my new situation I called out my system then while resolutely looking at the trial button I pushed it. The feeling of weightlessness suddenly consumed me the second my hand made contact with the screen and I was pulled into the void.
[Trial started]
[Mobile suits found]
[ MS-05 Zaku I , XXXG-00W0 Wing Gundam Zero]
[Restriction selected: XXXG-00W0 Wing Gundam Zero]
[Mobile Suit Assigned: MS-05 Zaku I]
[Simulation Target: RGM-79 GM]
[Battle Field Selected: Desert]
[TRIAL BEGIN]
Sand, that's all I saw, sand everywhere and as I looked down at myself I saw that I was within the Zaku I. The feeling of this mobile suit compared to the Zero was day and night. I felt slow, weak, and vulnerable. My thruster output was just enough to boost myself in one direction. The world was so quiet without the zero systems predictions, and my armor felt paper thin. Looking down to my hip I saw a heat hawk and behind me on my waist was a Zaku's machine gun. Shaking of my feeling of unease I grabbed my rifle and started searching my surroundings. Suddenly my instincts flared, my world when white as I hurled myself to the right rolling into the sandy dunes as a streak of pink rushed past my face. Stopping my roll I got to my feet before once again a streak of white thundered through my mind. This time though instead of rolling to the ground I boosted to my left, another rush of pink raced past me and as I traced it back to the source there I saw it. The federations first massed produced mobile suite stood tall in the sand its weapon trained on me once more.
